Would never sell them. Reggae got soul man!!. So says Toots and Maytals. I actually see the Pioneers,at the California ballroom Dunstable. It was a special reggae night. Trojan lps given free to the best dancers. Also see Bob Marley and the wailers,along with Johnny Nash 1972 at the Cali. Long live Reggae!!.

Me and my friends were always more into Punk and Oi!, though I can still appreciate these cool old sounds. Maybe it's because our heyday was in the States during the 80's. I got suspended from junior school for 2 weeks for getting a skinhead, the 2 weeks was so it could grow back a little because I got my brother to do it with my dads razor (my dad went mental and my head was covered in little nicks where my brother kept cutting me).

Although the early lads mixed well with their Jamaican counterparts a lot of racism was directed at the Indian and more so the Pakistani communities in the day, even a lot of the west Indians did not like them very much, sad fact but true.

I was born in 66 to a black mother and Irish dad. I used to hear my mams ska music and think it was for old people. Then In 78/9 two tone came and changed my life. It was a revival of 69 but getting older i learned about ska/reggae skinheads rude boys etc. Still love the style and music today.

Although the early lads mixed well with their Jamaican counterparts a lot of racism was directed at the Indian and more so the Pakistani communities in the day, even a lot of the west Indians did not like them very much, sad fact but true.

I was a skinhead in 1969 and we didn't have tattoos covering our arms and the girls certainly did not or body piercings and to us veterans 2Tone was a sad copy of our music.
I was born in 66 to a black mother and Irish dad. I used to hear my mams ska music and think it was for old people. Then In 78/9 two tone came and changed my life. It was a revival of 69 but getting older i learned about ska/reggae skinheads rude boys etc. Still love the style and music today.
