    Abbey Pumping Station in Leicester contains four working beam engines and is run by enthusiastic volunteers. If you like old and large engineering you need to make a visit.

    Victorians are only ones that would build something so beautiful to pump poo. Details in building and engine itself just amazing. The work on those columns is amazing.

    Very interesting!! would love to see in person.
    My USA ears have a little trouble hearing the Docent.

      The sound wasn't great in there despite using a good microphone. If you look at the International Harvester Club GB working tractors video I'm driving the tractor at 6:40 :-)

      Still a great vid of of walking beam engines. I also have a 1907 IHC Auto Buggy. Will do a vid on it someday.
