  • The earliest defenses against virus infections include chemical and physical barriers such as skin and mucus. Viruses that penetrate these barriers encounter intrinsic defenses (always present in the cell), and then innate defenses (which must be induced by infection). Both are highly effective antiviral systems, but may be antagonized by many different viral proteins - one reason why viruses are successful at being maintained in populations.

    At elderly antiinterferon antibody can occur.(?)
    Also at elderly metabolism can be low and also body and mucoseal respiratory temperature can be low
    If SARS COV2 better replicate at very low tissue temperature (?)...
    (At TWiV 659 at min29 virologist Christian Drosten indicate, that to replicate SARS COV2 incubator temperature must be decreased.)
