What do you mean by the caption that he made birdie after THIS…. If he made birdie hitting it out of the grate area that would’ve warranted the THIS , he got relief , more than once , and then hit a sand wedge probably …. That’s not surprising or crazy , that’s just routine

In the old days, we had to drop from shoulder height, none of this knee height business.

Did that make golf better ? Curious @@Devotee777

@@Devotee777 "The old days" being 2019. Knee is better though, less change of the ball missing the relief area and rolling away.

2:08 "turn the cameras around" rules officials really getting soft these days

That sprinkler head wasn't in his way.

He had to stand on it in order to hit the first dropped ball. That sprinkler affecting his stance is enough for him to get another drop

IMO there should be a rules official with every single group on a PGA tour event. Every shot that is even remotely odd should get an official ruling. Secondly if the official doesn't see it happen, then it never happened even if you see it on tv later.

Me swinging out of my a**: 155 mph ball speed
This guy with a borderline lazy looking swing: 178mph

Jesus if it took me that long to sort a drop out when I play with my mates my round would last a week😂

Annoys me that they need an official for simple rules they should be fined for wasting time

even with plots you can make birdies

Why did he get to clean the ball before the first drop?

    • @EricJ0hansson
      @EricJ0hansson 14 часов назад

You are always allowed to clean the ball when you are making a drop, no matter if it's free relief or a penalty drop.

  • @marvistadutch

Birdie? How about a penalty for slow play. Not being able to apply a common rule in a fairly standard situation, is not a valid excuse for slow play.

Better to be safe than sorry. They usually get an official when the ball needs to be placed elsewhere. If they make a mistake it will cost them.

Agreed. The game is so slow. Either simplify the rules or limit the visits by rules officials. I get that he could do an improper drop if he is clueless. But he could have dropped without being near the sprinkler also.
