Emmy Award-winning actress Cynthia Watros will be here to kick-off the New Year live in The Locher Room on Wednesday, January 5th at 4:30 p.m. EST / 1:30 p.m. PST. Cynthia will be here to discuss her role as Nina Reeves and the on-going love triangle between Carly / Sonny / Nina.
Cynthia joined the cast of Guiding Light in the role of nurse Annie Dutton back in November 1994 and created one of the show's greatest villains. The role earned Cynthia a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. Post Guiding Light, Cynthia went on to star in a number of hit prime-time series, Titus (Erin), The Drew Carey Show (Kellie), Lost (Libby), House (Samantha) and Finding Carter (Elizabeth) to name a few.
Cynthia joined the cast of General Hospital in 2019 as Nina Reeves reuniting with her Guiding Light co-star Laura Wright.

Cynthia is genius period. A phenomenal talent and so humble about it and just a sweet woman. Fell in love with her talent back when she played Annie and played her so well. She and Reva are legendary and wish Kim was still in daytime as well.. Good to see Cynthia rocking that role as Nina. love everything she does. Great interview!

For a good part of my life I confused Betty Rea with Peggy Rea, the very plump and home spun Aunt Rose from The Waltons. I honestly thought Aunt Rose was casting all these actors! 🙂
Lol, people take the shows seriously. 10 years ago, I had anxiety until the villain was gone. Now I am impressed by their acting skills.😊

Cynthia made her mark so many years ago, as Alan stated; i've been a fan for 30 years and have never forgotten her. It's even possible my devotion to GH would END if she were to leave. I don't follow many actors closely but I've loved her statements on social media about being bullied. Can't wait to watch this; I've bookmarked it. Thank you Alan for turning out great content these past couple years!

Cynthia is one of the best actresses America has ever produced, although she is mostly famous for soaps, her talent is top level. She is as good as Meryl Streep or Judith Light.

Loved this. Especially reliving all those great GL scenes and moments. You can tell Cynthia absolutely puts her own spin on her roles, and goes the extra TWO miles to make it her own. She's one of those daytime actors I love to watch act.

Oh my goodness, this was so amazing! This was great getting to know Cynthia more. I grew up loving her as Annie, and now getting to see her as Nina, is fabulous. I enjoyed getting to hear about her life. I'm a small town girl myself, so I can definitely relate to her there. Her, and Maura are my FAVORITES, Alan. I was so excited when I found they both went to Boston University. I loved hearing about her college days. It's so awesome to see Cynthia, Maura, and Laura on GH. I miss the P&G soaps so much! I naively always thought they would be on. These Locher Room episodes bring me so much joy!

Another stellar interview, haven't seen her on GH, stopped watching in the early 90s after Tony Geary and Genie Francis left the first time but I do remember her from "Lost" and of course as Annie Dutton, her Emmy winning role on "Guiding Light" her character was nice in the beginning but slowly turned villainous and I was sad it went that way and she and Josh didn't make it and she eventually left the show, don't get me wrong, a Josh and Reva fan always but it was nice to to see them with other people even when I and I'm sure the other viewers knew they would always get back together..

Cynthia Watros as Annie on Guiding Light let me preface this by saying that I'm a big Susan Lucci fan I was always rooting for Susan at Emmys time that being said when I saw Cynthia Watros performance on Guiding Light in particular The Big Wedding debacle I said oh Lord Susan's not going to win and she's going to lose to another actress from Guiding Light not Kim Zimmer this time its gonna be Cynthia Watros.
Yep you were right Cynthia's performance that year was OUTSTANDING, the wedding scene when Frank arrested her and her breakdown in the courtroom!

I know -- I kind of agree, but there are people who felt she was one of the best villains in GL history. She definitely knew how to torment.
