Those clips are not all what were submitted. Flannery did not submit that at all. Sometimes they take something to put in if they can't get the reels. Production shows those clips not the judges.

Flannery has won 3 times and I think she'll win again this year, giving her 4 Emmys--tying her with Zimmer. If the academy overlooks Flannery this year, it's a crime.

I have a theory on this year's Emmys here. KZ wasn't thought of to be a serious contender. But Susan Flannery submitted a bad second tape that did not relate to the heart attack story. Furthermore, this was for the year Cassie died on Y&R and Sharon Case was snubbed. Even Stafford took her name out that year. I can imagine when Flannery lost to KZ she ticked off supporters who replaced her with Maura in the CBS voting block.
@DeepScreenAnalysis Flannery was looking like the favorite to win based on material she had but her second reel gave it to Zimmer. This was debated on Gold Derby.
What a shame that CBS has ditched this show. In the last few years, Ellen Wheeler has done such a fine job as exec prod of this show. Not to mention all the fine performers, esp Kim Zimmer. They will be missed. Daytime TV is a dwindling medium, a shame, cause when it's good, it is very entertaining.
I think it was a throwaway nom. NLG had been a perennial nominee but that year three actresses played Carly and none got prenommed. LW came on too late. I guess they decided to not honor Alexis for that year. It was Alexis and Carly the next two years but I think voters moved on from NLG as GH was hot garbage then with Sonny and Carly not together and with them apart there was less room for other stories. 06-08 was a notable CBS bloc voting phase. Also, they purposely snubbed Sharon Case so they were looked to nominate some weaker performers.
