- Guiding Light's Kim Zimmer (Reva Shayne Lewis) takes home her 4th Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress. Her other wins were in 1985, 1987, and 1990.

I love Kim so much she could read the phone book and I'd watch and it would probably be fabulous television. I loved the first time she won an Emmy and had her hair spiked and threw her shoes in the air when she got onstage and everyone was screaming! God bless the 80s!

Something is wrong with Daytime television if Zimmer and Tom Pelphrey are employed! They are two the BEST actors I have ever witnessed.

No, Beth Ehlers was the best of these 5 for 2005. Zimmer already had 3 Emmys.
Those clips are not all what were submitted. Flannery did not submit that at all. Sometimes they take something to put in if they can't get the reels. Production shows those clips not the judges.

Guiding light made the right decision of casting Kim Zimmer as Reva. She always gave 100% in every scene she was in.

It’s a shame she never won an Emmy as Harley. She was nominated for Younger, Supporting and Lead. She definitely should’ve won for Younger Actress with the Daisy adoption story back in the day.
Beth absolutely deserved Emmy for her role. She was phenomenal. Unfortunately so many great actors never get one because of politics.
i honestly think that kelly should have won. her work for 05 and 06 was off the charts. i believe they placed her in the wrong category. if she was placed in supporting, i believe she would have won.

Kim did fabulous work but part of me will never forgive Reva for treating Josh like this and telling him he was not enough. I hated this story and hate Josh and Reva still being a part.

Flannery has won 3 times and I think she'll win again this year, giving her 4 Emmys--tying her with Zimmer. If the academy overlooks Flannery this year, it's a crime.

I have a theory on this year's Emmys here. KZ wasn't thought of to be a serious contender. But Susan Flannery submitted a bad second tape that did not relate to the heart attack story. Furthermore, this was for the year Cassie died on Y&R and Sharon Case was snubbed. Even Stafford took her name out that year. I can imagine when Flannery lost to KZ she ticked off supporters who replaced her with Maura in the CBS voting block.

I think it was a throwaway nom. NLG had been a perennial nominee but that year three actresses played Carly and none got prenommed. LW came on too late. I guess they decided to not honor Alexis for that year. It was Alexis and Carly the next two years but I think voters moved on from NLG as GH was hot garbage then with Sonny and Carly not together and with them apart there was less room for other stories. 06-08 was a notable CBS bloc voting phase. Also, they purposely snubbed Sharon Case so they were looked to nominate some weaker performers.
What a shame that CBS has ditched this show. In the last few years, Ellen Wheeler has done such a fine job as exec prod of this show. Not to mention all the fine performers, esp Kim Zimmer. They will be missed. Daytime TV is a dwindling medium, a shame, cause when it's good, it is very entertaining.
