I think you should look at Eric Davis. He is criminally underrated due to having to battle injuries throughout his career but he was an electric player. His return from colon cancer while playing for the O's was epic.
Have to do a Yadier Molina one!! He’s well deserving. Baseball family with 2 MLB catcher brothers, has incredible highlights in the World Series, playoffs, All-Star Game, and in the WBC. He rewrote the book on catching fundamentals and his back picks are some of the most unbelievable you’d ever see. Yadier Molina!
Watched him terrorize the Cubs for a long time. Loved watching him play though. That last season was so exciting just waiting to see if he could get to 700.
I'm happy for you that your audience has been so acknowledged that you now have sponsors; you deserve it. I look forward to learning from you and enjoying the many videos going forward. Cheers!
Absolutely one of my favorite St. Louis Cardinals! I have been a fan since 1984 answer Alberts run was one of the best and his return was absolutely phenomenal!❤️⚾️
Loved his mentality as a hitter, pure natural hitter, he never tried to hit homers, they just naturally came and he used the whole field. A natural at the plate.
I was at the game in Chicago when Albert went 5 for 5, but So Taguchi was also big in that game. So, with 2 on, made an incredible catch in the ivy in left and later hit the game tying HR. The look on Cubs fan faces was priceless. Albert owned the Cubs.
He is a nice guy as well. He was a regular at a sushi restaurant I worked at in Scottsdale Az during spring training. He signed a ball and was always a good tipper!
Simply one of the 10 greatest hitters to ever live. I got into baseball at the beginning of his angels tenure, so I never got to see him rake in his prime, but the aura around him and respect he garnered was great to watch
As far as clutch hitting, Albert was the closest thing to a clutch hitter that I had ever seen since Mickey Mantle. I was fortunate to have watched them both.
The batting stance is a good one and it worked for him and when I bat like players, retired and active, and his stance works for me too. It's my favorite...
Love the stories of all these great ballplayers. I was raised in Los Angeles when the Dodgers showed up and would love to see a piece on my favorite pitcher of all time - Sandy Koufax.
My favorite Pujols trivia is that he and Ichiro came into MLB the same season (2001), had the same 10-year prime (2001-2010), and had the exact same batting average in that time (.331). Considering that Pujols hit 300+ more HRs than Ichiro while *striking out less frequently*, he was probably both the best contact and power hitter in the game over those 10 years.
He left his wife and didn’t even have the decency to wait until she was off the operating table to remove a cancerous tumor from her brain. Doesn’t sound like a very good guy to me.
Fun fact about al's homer off rookie Verlander. Talk about game recognizing game, when al hit that ball the camera shows verlander smiling at pujols because by all measures that was a good two seam pitch and was a good location and sequence and pujols just obliterated it.
As a Cardinals fan, watching the career of Pujols, him leaving for California, and then returning for one last incredible season was amazing. It's easy to say this about any player, but imagine if injuries hadn't slowed him down during his time with the Angels. Due to the problems with his feet and legs he didn't have the same drive that he'd had before. He may not have reached Bonds' career homerun total, but it is possible that he could have as 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021 were four of his lowest homerun total years and in 2013 he played less than 100 games due to injury. He hit a total of 109 homerunes in those 5 combined seasons or less than 22 per season. If you gave him his career average of 32 that's 10 more per season...50 more across those 5 years...that would put him in the 750's...with Bonds at 762...is it impossible to believe that had Pujols been healthy he could have reached a similar total to Bonds? People love Mike Trout and are amazed by him, and I am as well, but compare the careers of Pujols and Trout and the one area where Trout is superior to Pujols is in speed. Add to that the fact that Trout has been hindered by injury in his younger years while Pujols was fortunate to remain mostly healthy during his prime. Mike Trout may get healthy and go on to a legendary career, Albert Pujols had the legendary career and then suffered the injuries.
@Cam23 absolutely. He held the cardinals franchise down for a long time. It was in mvp contention constantly. And he was a constant pro his entire career. Nvr heard a bad story about him
Albert is the best MLB hitter of all time!! Stats don't lie! My hero! Mark McGwire knew how special of a talent Albert Pujols was. Cardinals need to make this man, there manager or hitting coach.
I just remember going to games as a kid and Albert would come up to bat with at least a man on base. Everyone already knew what was going to happen. They were either walking Albert or he was getting a hit. Anything else felt like you got cheated out of watching greatness.

Albert Pujols based upon his numbers with the Cardinals would have put him up there with Babe Ruth and Willie Mays as the greatest ever. I think the only thing about Albert slowing down due to injuries with the Angels and him leaving the Cards keeps Stan Musial as the Greatest Cardinals player ever with Bob Gibson pitching, Albert, and Hornsby next in line. With Albert the Cards may have also won the 2013 world series since he really played well in post season, but Carlos Beltran did have a good year and Albert was playing while hurting. . It was so exciting seeing Albert again play like the young Albert in STL the last two months of the season in 2022 with the countdown to 700 homers. It also healed some wounds from when he left for the wealth of the large TV market of L.A. (Anaheim) similar to the NFL for the big bucks but I cannot blame him for doing so. Cardinal fans are reminded by ownership that despite averaging over 3 million fans a year, the St. Louis market cannot compete with the big bucks of the L.A. TV market. I don't think the giants come back from 3games to 1 either , which in hindsight , in my opinion the cards lost out on at least 1ws and another appearance with a possible.3 in a row. @@danzemacabre8899 What I do not though is the financial impact doing so would have affected rounding out a good over-all team of players and pitching. This is an advantage of a city in a large TV market. As much as I was disappointed the NFL allowed the Rams to move to L.A. or at least not also award STL an expansion team for the new stadium STL was wanting to build, it is a business and Stan Kroenke had the large wealth to be able to first build in the very expensive L.A. market, but by doing his wealth has really increased from the Rams value now.
