In the books Jory, Ned’s captain of the guard, was the son of one of Ned’s best friends who died in the war. Ned raised him like a son and they will find him craddling Jory’s corpse in grief.
The discussions between Varys (The Spider) and Bailish (Littlefinger) are just dripping with subtext and clever innuendo, thrusts and parries. Some of the best lines of the show are given to these two having words.
I love how Arya is so comfortable talking to Ned's retainers and they're fond of her. That little conversation she had with Ser Jory Cassell where she asked him how many soldiers his father had and he told her not to worry for her dad's safety and called her little lady speaks volumes about who Arya is, who Ned is, and who Ned's most trusted men are.
In the books Arya is 9 years old. Once she exited the dungeons she was filthy, and tried to wash up by the bay. She was concerned being stark naked in front of so many people, but no one batted an eye. Doubtless, they were used to naked or half naked urchins in Flea Bottom.
We need 2 episodes a week please 😭🙏🏻 Your reactions are awesome!
yesss and I’m glad they’re not excessively talking over character dialogue like some other reactors. especially bad in a show like this.
Jesus its their channel they can run it how they see fit.
What makes the "breastplate stretcher" scene better is knowing Ned is about the only person who could speak to the king like that 🤣
Lol. Back in my military years, the motor pool sergeants would always request "A can of winter air" or " a can of blinker fluid". 🤣
At the racetrack it was the saddle stretcher or a bucket of steam.
Does ‘go find me that pink elephant’ qualify as a fool’s errand?
Hilarious 🙄 Dad
Nice to see someone else (finally!) feel sad about losing Jory ... most reactors don't even mention him, and I was really upset about it! 😂
In the books Littlefinger and the city watch find Ned cradling Jory's body in his arms. He was close to Jorys father too.
Honestly I do find Jory's murder underwhelming after reading the books, he's one of the characters who barely made it to the adaptation, and it shows. I'm not surprised a lot of viewers sort of feel sad for a second then move on.
Well it's underused in the show and subpar character that don't really matter. How could we blame them.
I love how self-aware Robert was😂😂😂
That scene between Robert and Cersei is one of the best in the whole series. They were being completely honest with each other probably for the first and only time.
And Cersei probably made and/or confirmed a decision at the end there.
Theon is a great character imo. I feel like people acknowledge how he is the servant to the Starks and how that division is shown. Because there is definitely a subservience demonstrated.
"How many Guards does my father have"
"Here's in king's Landing? ... 50"
"You wouldn't let anyone kill him would you?"
"No fear on that account little lady"
I'm always glad that Jory got to see something beautiful right before he died
Varys's reaction to Little Fingers analogy about 'when you find yourself in bed with an ugly women' is hilarious. Also what's interesting is LittleFinger is speaking from experience and we see who it is in this episode as well, lol.
You are perceptive and smart reactors. So fun to experience this with you. I look forward to each upload👏🏻
"It will probably be horrible, but it will be entertaining."
He already figured out the show. 😄
I had my own version of the breastplate stretcher. When I was in the Navy (about a million years ago) I got "initiated" and wound up going around the base from department to department all day looking for a fuse repair kit.
18:51 When you remember that when these two last spoke, Cassel mentioned to Jaime how a Greyjoy almost took his eye in the battle they both fought in..
Lady Stark not The Queen. The blood and the gurling got me 🤣🤣🤣
Notice in an earlier episode Jorry was remarking to Jaime about how a Greyjoy almost took his eye in battle. I'd bet good money Jaime killed him that way on purpose just to be extra-dickish.
Very enjoyable reaction. But - and I know you're well past here - I was amused that you asked 'How did they find out so fast?' and Varys said 'Ser Jorah Mormont' and you didn't even blink.
I thought I remembered it cutting to Jorah right after that scene to help connect the dots, but I guess that might be in the next episode.
I dunno, when you start this show there are so many characters, names and relationships that it's fair to not clock them all.
Great reaction! Really enjoyed the honest and fun experience.
yer SO damn lucky to see this for the 1st time :D
Jaime didn't fight dirty. Just because a character you like died doesn't mean Jaime fought dirty. He fought in a combat. Jaime is one of the greatest swordsman in Westeros.
Unpopular opinion. I agree with the small council
I love your reactions.
The gurgling blood “went on for so long!”
Like reality, more clean if anything.
I was like, "okay creepy person" and then I read your name.

Your the best channel ever. Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad!
Love your reactions !! Can't wait till u get the the even heavier stuff forthcoming lol😅
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤
lmao 20:00 she thinks Jory Cassel's death is sad...
19:49 Poor child of summer.
This is the best show full of heroic good people!
In the books, Robert does have one bastard he's fond of. He fathered her when he and Ned were fostered in the Vale.
The show leaves out a few of Robert's bastards...
The show leaves out a lot of things and its only getting worse with each season since the showrunners become so self-important, thinking the success came because theyre geniuses.
Yep, Mya Stone. (No spoilers). In the books Cat actually meets her when she visits the Eyrie. Mya must have been born when Robert was a teenager and Mya remembers a man who used to visit and play with her but doesn't remember/know her father is the king.
Something fun: If you remember in the previous episode, Jory and Jaime had a conversation outside the king's chambers. Jory told Jaime about how how a Greyjoy soldier almost stabbed him in the eye as they breached the walls in the siege of Pyke (The Greyjoy Rebellion). Rather poetic that Jaime remembered that story in their little clash here, don't you think?
The really terrifying thing about the sky cells where Tyrion is being held in this episode is the fact that not only are they open and freezing cold, they are ever so slightly sloping. So when you wake up in the middle of the night, better not flinch as you might just find yourself right next to the abyss.
Its a shame details like that couldnt be translated into the show, but hey, theres so many details, so many characters and the author specifically wrote the books to be unadaptable because of his frustrating experiences when writing for TV where all his ideas got shut down or made smaller because of budget constraints. So, yeah, GOT could only ever have been a weak imitation to the real thing.
They actually did give Lysa a line in I think the next episode where (spoilers I guess) after Tyrion's not-really-confession, she rants to throw him back in the cells and find one sloping a little bit more. I can't remember if that line was in the book or that bit was purely in description.
Dramatisations of novels are always less than the written word ... it wouldn't be possible to include everything (although I'm pretty sure the sloping floor ARE mentioned, as I knew about them and I haven't read the books). We have to see them as two different things, really.
Two of my all-time favourite novels are Lord of the Rings and Captain Correlli's Mandolin - the film adaptations of both are pale imitations of the books, but I enjoy them both in their own right 🤩
Will you please set the GoT playlist to add new videos to the bottom (and reorder the ones already in there)? You currently have to manually click each episode to watch them in the correct order.
We need 2 episodes a week please
I just relized that they Jaime Lannister ordered his men to take Eddard Stark alive and they left him there haha it didn't make much sense since the beginning!
Jaime is angry and impulsive and didn't really have a plan when he came to confront Ned. Ned's guards are killed and most men would sensibly surrender at that point but Ned draws his sword instead and charges at Jaime. This is a direct challenge to Jaime's honor in front of witnesses so he cannot refuse the fight. It should have been single combat but one of the Lannister men instead tries to carry out their last order. Ned goes down, but not at Jaime's hand and that pause gives Jaime enough perspective to rethink his impulsiveness so he withdraws.
I'm loving the series ❤
I genuinely look forward to watching you guys react to this show...but I also genuinely am afraid you two might be too innocent for it, 😂.
Normally I roll my eyes a bit at the endless "ohhh you guys are not ready for this!" you always get with reacters and any "intense" TV show, because come on, it's a TV show...but I did laugh at "can you imagine if they ended the season here?" at the end haha 😄 Yes, something as awful as Ned's guards being killed and being speared through the leg! We wouldn't be able to stand the next 9 months off with that on our minds! :P
Nice Aphex Twin shirt :-)
I never figured out why Bron accompanied Lady Starks retinue. Given what we know of him as veteran watchers, it begs clarification.
He was following Tyrion, an opportunity for money.
Maybe it's time to become a veteran reader.
Sigil vs Sigil episodes very interesting.
If only… they had carried out the orders of the King to Eliminate the last of the Targaryens…
And so goes The Game of Thrones - You either Win or you Die.
This channel prompted me to rewatch season 1 last week...I found my strongest "if only they'd just..." emerging when Arya had Joffrey at her mercy by the riverside haha.
Totally agree. Tired of watching reactors simping for Danny

The show ran low on budget so they filmed that one on one, intimate scene with Robert and Cersei.
So many genre shows seem to get some of the best scenes when they're forced to fill some extra time on a low budget. You get to take a break from the plot of the day and focus on character and feeling. I remember several famous _Deep Space Nine_ scenes born from such constraints.
chandra's pretty
I’m not sure why so many commenters are insistent on ‘no spoilers here’.
They are already into the 5th season, so anything discussed here will just be filling in some background blanks or pointing out what they may have missed as they near the end.
🤷♀️
It's a good habit that doesn't require a calculator to see how much you can talk about stuff other than this reaction.
I'm not sure why so many commenters believe the reacters they are watching are the last people on the planet to be seeing a show for the first time..
Tye-Ron🤣
One episode per week? You will need one year and half to watch the hole show...
That actually doesn't sound long at all haha. Maybe they should go to an episode every 2 weeks :P Silly premium shows and their short seasons...
Jaime Lannister wins again!
This girl acting as if what Robert said wasn't true. Dothrakis take slaves, rape women and do heinous stuff. Just because you like a protagonist doesn't mean everything he said is right. Use some critical thinking.
