Mate, they turned out so good, we could stair at them forever😅❤
Love it! 😂😂
@@akvilio 😆😆😆
Hi Nicky & Leigh, I definitely, agree with Nicky, for a handrail! Going up & down those narrow, steep stairs, with a your precious, baby in your arms, is a must !
You have a great space, under the stairs, for storage shelves, boot 👢 🥾 room, with coat 🧥 hangers, space for the pram, enclosed with lovely doors! 🥰
I really like how everyone you hire has been so friendly and a laugh with you. Stairs look fab 😊
Our youngest is now 7 but because we also have triangular stairs we still have a stair gate that forces you to the wide side for safety purposes. :)
That’s a good idea!
Dutch stairs are terrifying!
Aww I’m so happy for you all 🌸🌸🌸
Thank you! 😁🙌
OMG Those stairs are narrow!! What ever you do do not try going up or down them after a few beers! lol
The joys of putting perfectly precision crafted things into wonky old houses where nothing is level or straight or logical! Good times! You will really appreciate those stairs for sure, they look stunning
Installing a staircase is not always easy, especially in existing homes.
Nicky, what a nice sweater you have on, go Holland go.
G'day guys! The house is looking absolutely gorgeous ❤
Thank you!! 😃
"Onward and Upward!"
‘Art Nouveau’, same decade as Art Deco. Art Deco tends to utilise blocks of bright colours and metallics, in contrast to the more muted tones of Art Nouveau 😊
The floors and tiles are breathtaking ♥️
Heel moi, liefs ❤
Mooi ❤
I'd say Art Nouveau is earlier than Art Deco. The Art Nouveau period started around 1900 and peaked just before WWI, while Art Deco really took off in the 1920s. Of course there's always a bit of overlap.
I just L🫶VED the Family Moment when Johnny got to be in his Room, ✨Precious✨
Yes very steep Stairwell, lucky you are both fit & able🤗
🙌🤩🌈🥰🇦🇺
Awww! Johnny in his own room! Best part of the video😊 he looks like he’s already imagining where to place his bed for optimal napping lol
The staircase turned out very beautiful! But I want to attach railings to it for safety. And a gate at the top, while Johnny is little. I completely agree with Nicky that even constantly making choices yourself is a lot of work 🐘
Good I like it 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Flight of stairs, lol...🤙🤙🤙
Those stair were a pain in the ass!! , but finally , job done!! , well done , and you took it litteraly to the next level😍🥰😘
I can't wait to see how you get your furniture up those stairs!
Vão ter de usar as janelas.
I have been wondering that very same thing...
@annihilator45 they might use the patio entrance in the bathroom, I know I would get a forklift, remove the fence to the patio and lift the furniture up and take it through the bathroom door..
Have never seen stairs go in like that. They look really steep. Be careful carrying things up there! Especially precious cargo Johnny!
😊👍❤️🤙
I’m curious why they wouldn’t use “rubber” mallets or place a pad between the metal mallet/stairs before hammering to prevent dents in the wood of “new” stairs.🤔 Your remodel updates look really nice. You’re making great choices.🤗
Nice to see you finally going up in the world!
The place is looking so great! I have enjoyed being on this adventure with you both and hope you will be able to find a new purpose for this channel! I watch your magnet fishing videos too but I like hearing from Nicky!
I know my husband would have watched this channel with me! He is the one that introduced me to your magnet fishing! Sadly he is no longer with us but he will always be on my mind when I’m watching something I feel he would like to watch with me!
Thank you both!
Hi Nicky a Lee ,love the stairs ,it’s all coming together.Cant wait till it’s finished. You should be proud of what you’ve done so far love Ann uk ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Looks Really Good with the stairs in now. Will you have a cupboard under the stairs? And you definitely need a handrail on the wall or up the stairs because the walls get dirty with hands especially children’s 😊 I know you are living inside now and I’m excited to see the kitchen. I see a nice outside building! I have ideas for Nicky & Leigh’s Renovation 👊 Looking Really nice Guys! Pleased for you both.
Thank you! We use under the stairs mainly for the pram and left it open for now, eventually we’ll probably close it and have cupboards there 😃 we also have a handrail!
That was so cool to watch ❤ not long to go and we will finally see the 99% complete house I say 99% because I've learnt a house is never finished 😂
The stairs are awesome. Your home is so beautiful, been with y'all since the being of the remodel it's just can't believe how y'all did it so much in way of color floors. Wow. Love from USA 🇺🇸 ❤️
Climbing the real estate ladder. one small step for man one big step for Johnny
I hope you keep making videos even after renovations are done ❤
Yeah ...
After the house videos (what's happening to the utility room off the kitchen and your upstairs bathroom) then we'd love to see the garden and large shed/garage transformation.
Been superb watching your wonderful progress.
Thank you! What would you like to see? 😃
All my aunts and uncles live in Holland and the staircases are insane 😮
They are very steep 😂
I’ve worked with so many miserable tradesmen who don’t love their job. Not only are the stairs the best but the company employs good people and look after them. I wish there was more Fabian’s in the world.
Love Fabian ❤️
So happy those stairs are going in. Glad thise guys were able to replace the spindle right away. Last Spring, i think. Hey little Johnny and Nicky are there too. Nice
Almost done. My stairs are very steep in my house as well. I live in the USA and I have 18 stairs from ground entrance to 2nd floor and they are straight up, no landing to turn onto before getting to my floor. Plus, they are narrow and short. Good luck with them. And I can't wait until your house is finally done. Keep the videos coming.
Lovely stairs fitted Nicky and Leigh. Almost time to move in. Great renovation series....thank you Nicky Leigh and Johnnyxx
Wow its looking great Nicky and Leigh❤
You need an elevator now as well, nice dramatic black and white zoom Nic. 😂
🤕 Stairs in headache gone 😊
Stepping on up😊😊
Awesome stairs and entryway. AWESOME little boy.
The US has to inspect everything and there are standards for even more. I wonder if you could even have those in the US. I really like them!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Stairs done a different way! I’m glad you have them now.❤️🇨🇦
Steps look very nice after 2 days of work. The good thing is they are finally finished! Now you can move stuff in woohoo 🥳. I am happy for you 🥹 😊love it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Everyday life, Nicky shopping, milestones in Johnny's life and ANYTHING else you feel comfortable in sharing LoL I've really enjoyed the renovation videos and the magnet fishing videos ❤ hopefully request doesn't make me sound creepy .. I'm not... LoL myself and others just really enjoy your videos
Awesome stair six stars my friends
It may already be done but if you put the handrail along the wall it would leave you room for when you need to bring large items of furniture up the stairs. If it on the open side of the stairs your space will be limited to the width of the staircase. But, there is a fall risk if it's on the wall side so putting it on the open side would eliminate the fall risk unless it's just a rail handle. That wouldn't be allowed in the US, it would have to be a rail with sides that a child couldn't fall through.
Wow..I can't believe how steep your stairs are!!! I'd never be able to use them!! My Grandpa had stairs like that in his old house. And several family members stepped to close to the left and fell down the stairs!!! One more step(s) towards completion!!! YAY!!!
Getting excited for you all ...can't wait for the kitchen then move in for you guys
OMG those stairs they are something else. A two hour job turned into two days 🤣🤣 welcome to my renos. I had to buy a belt sander the other day honestly I wish I had you here to help me. Can't wait to see the finished product it's really starting to look like a home.
Johnny, you look AMAZING in your new room!!!
It’s so kind of your guys to allow you to film them and be so distracting while they are trying to focus on getting the work done. Cool staircase puzzle!
Awesome looking stairs, what a job getting them done gotta love old homes nothing is ever a straight shot😊
I grew up in an old 2story farmhouse we got used to the stairs but family and friends said felt like they were going to fall backwards they tended to crawl up and down.
I’m so happy for you both it’s been a stressful journey but look at beautiful home you have created ❤❤
I am an American Dutch carpenter , hail from Holland , Michigan,, I worked with master Dutch carpenters in the Netherlands for 6yrs,, I would say this about the Dutch stairs!, they suck!!!! I have met many people with injuries' related to stairs, way to steep, careful Jonny!!!! American stairs have code riser 8.5 inches and treads at 10.5 inches, safer stairs use more room
America is always better. In almost everything. Thank god there is America. The whole world loves America. You are amazing and good looking. Wow.
😂😂😂@@on-the-pitch-p3w
I’ve been to the Netherlands and I have to say I’ve never noticed stairs in modern buildings being particularly steep. They do however have a lot of older buildings because they are well built. In America they seem to class buildings as old after about forty or fifty years and demolish them to build new.
In really old Dutch buildings stairs are a lot steeper and more narrow because they didn’t have fixed measurements for stairs. They could all vary. That is also the cause of a lot of accidents in those days because of all those different heights in different stairs and those long big skirts as well a lot of people would fall down. And in the Netherlands there still are a lot of those old buildings standing because our houses are brick houses and they last a lot longer . So there will be a lot more steep and dangerous stairs still existing. And that has nothing to do with the carpenters skills nowadays.
Taking things “one step at a time.”
@@timdyesr 😆😆😆
Another great step forward, Now you can really get moving 🤜 It's going to be an Amazing Home Guy's and little Johnny.
So happy for you. That was a job. 💕🙏
PS I also want to mention, you have pretty flowers on the bush in your garden, they were noticed when you were outside sitting at the table, holding your precious little boy, talking to Leigh. Beautiful yard space😊
First time watching the show. Follow you with magnet fishing. I must say, "Those are some proper stairs, mate!" Would have been cool if you had Wim and Joopie helping!! Keep up the good work. BTW, love the el Diablo I ordered from Bondi in December!!
JV from Wisconsin.
Looking good , beautiful entry door. Looks solid. Being a senior, 2nd thoughts going up and down the stairs, but I should mention I have a railing on each side of
my staircase, total knee replacement 5 years now. Your home is beautiful.😊
Loved the shot of the level bubble!
That was great. Can’t wait to see the kitchen go in.
So cool 💫♥️
I watched in horror as Fabian hammered your new stairs. There were visible marks on them and I totally understand Leigh when you said they look used. He shouldn't have act like he could do it by himself, when they were so difficult to install. I think the company should give a discount on the bill.
Awesome !!!! Congrats!!! 💙💞💙🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yay looks great. They wouldn't pass inspection here because of no handrail
Nice new stairs!
Those stairs remind me of stairs in older homes in the USA, they were steep, and narrow in some houses 😮
Looking good there. On church stairs we have a thick role that goes down the spindle side to hang into as a space saving option.
Some folk have mentioned a "Dutch" or "French" door on Johnny's room. We'd call that a stable door. Only thing you need to beware of with those is that the top latches back correctly. I recall a cousin who often ran under the top door and found out the hard way he was too tall to do that anymore.
Construction and renovation is so different in Europe ..... O_o
Hi guys! It’s really coming along!!
Looking good 👍!!!
So happy for you❤
They look great ! 🤙🤙🤙
Stairs look great. Well done for it all as you e had quite a few set backs and you’re not too over your estimation. You’ll enjoy it all the more I’m sure.
So cool to watch!
Stairs look amazing but all I can think is I’d be worried about Johnny falling down them , once he’s on his feet there will no stopping him climbing . My grandson was wild at climbing I swear I thought he’d grow up to be a mounteer lol . The house looks amazing 💙❤️💙😘😘😘🇬🇧
He is walking.
@ I keep forgetting we are way behind lol . 💙❤️💙😘😘😘🇬🇧
Hi, Nicky and Leigh. Tbf, when I saw that Fabian was on his own, I was a bit iffy about his ability to install those stairs without any help. It took a while, but with help from Leigh (and later from Lars), it all finally came together. So pleased you were both finally able to access the upper floor without relying on a ladder. Looking forward to more update videos before the big final reveal. Thanks for sharing 👍
Step it up Fabian!!!
Ok..today I was looking at your beautiful flooring, and then I noticed the sun was shining on your floor..if the sun shines on the floor every day, it could do some damage to the floor. I love how the sun shines in..but don't want your beautiful flooring ruined. Have you ever heard of window film? It's great to block out some of the sun . It helps to keep the inside cooler.
I know how to put the film on the windows..it's a big job but well worth doing it. Any ways I can't believe how big Johnny has gotten!! He is so cute. 😍 one more thing is you should get 2 child proof gates for the stairs. Safety always!
Trying to build those spiral steps on your own, with no previous experience, would have been impossible.
I agree with comments that the tapering treads are a slip hazard. Be careful not to pick a railing that can snag/wedge a hand if you're falling. I just saw a location where the railing was actually an inset part of the wall (like an inset shelf/nook) -- may be time to call the flooring guys back to route a railing cavity into your wall. :D
Great Job.
Bonjour a tous et merci pour votre vidéo votre maison vient magnifiques
Congratulations
Great job
Starting to look great !👍👍👍👍
Getting so close now!!!
21:33 those stairs look terrifying from this angle 😳
It looks very good!!! I can't wait to see the finished product!!! 😊
Mooie trap ❤❤❤❤
15:03 Johnny didn't like that the stars wasn't fitting right
Mooie trap. Netjes opgelost zo!!
❤
looks great guys!!
Love it 😎✌🏻
Please do everything in your power to make those stairs safe. With the steps being so narrow on one side it would be very easy to put a foot wrong. I've always felt terribly unsure using spiral staircases. But for the rest of the house - complimenti! You've worked incredibly hard to transform it. ♥♥♥
Thank you! Ideally we wanted a straight stairs or at least one that’s not so steep but this was our only option unfortunately. We’ve added a handrail and anti slip strips so hopefully that’ll be enough 😃
❤😍😍❤😍❤😍❤😍❤
What would he have done without your help?
It would’ve been impossible 😂
