Really interesting, I got the same idea and will start a food hub in Portugal.
Local Food Market Place is already well entrenched in the US for food hubs. Would love to hear how Russel differentiates Ooooby from LFM.
It sounds to me that the easy fix to the software centralization problem is to release it as open source. But I definitely like the stewart ownership model concept.

Would love to see something like Ooby in the states. We are the land of the convenient, and home of the instant gratification 😂 but truly in a tech dominated age, it would be a crime NOT to have local produce at your fingertips!
It's available to use in the states! Anyone can start a food hub using the software 🙂
@@TheMarketGardeners how can I find out more about becoming a food hub or starting one? I live in an area that has a sizeable support for csa models already, very close to the philadelphia area. I see things like hello fresh and other food boxes on porches that could easily be replaced with an ooby box and the confidence that the produce was local and grown organically.

Great talk, interesting ideas on stewardship economies. god knows we need some morality to appear after 40-50 years of neo-liberalism. I may just be a grumpy old guy looking at the lack of in-roads by organic across my life and in my 'retirement' still battling 'farmers' and their arrogance with spray drifts, at a time when toxic chemical use is on the increase and human labour saving means such is done here with helicopters. Further not sure that the moral/integrity ideas will get traction past the compliant masses well exposed by the mega-corporation drug sales drive during the covid era.
Also not sure about the integrity of OOOBY. Here in NZ at this moment, a head of broccoli via oooby is $8.99, a local organic farm advertises theirs's at $4.49 with home delivery and super market non-organic $1.69. At a time of recession and growing unemployment here, smacks of social status/dollars to waste elitism.
