    What baffles me is why WWE allows the Canadian but not a traditional pile-driver. The recipient lands in pretty much the exact same position in both.
    As far as the diving headbutt, I've always hated the move. It just really looks unintelligent. I used to think it made Chris Benoit look bad that his move hurt him more than it hurt his opponent.
    I really wish Brock's shooting star press would have worked out at WrestleMania. If only Kurt were a bit closer, it could have been such an amazing moment, rather than the disaster it ended up being. He had done the move correctly several times in his early career.

    • @Jay-we2ek
      @Jay-we2ek 2 года назад

      You can roll out of a Destroyer, a normal piledriver, you can't really do that so much. Normal piledriver IS a higher risk to be spiked on your head, as the opponent sits downwards, a Destroyer, you're flipped into it and not spiked downwards.

      You can't really make sure of that, it's the type of move that's totally reliant on the opponent placing his chin in the right place (it's just usually the opposite of where you place it, normally you tuck the chin on a lot of moves). Maybe it's that fact that makes it dangerous. If you don't opposite do what you'd normally do, you may f*ck up your neck.

    It always looked like the ring had extra bounce to it toward the prime days of ECW. That's why I think many wrestlers could get away with more dangerous moves. In Japan they seem to use many more dangerous moves. That's why I always liked Kenny Omega in New Japan since he could use his whole move-set. I often wonder why other wrestling organizations never used a more trampoline type ring so more dangerous moves could be used safely. I think That's why Tazz was buried in WWE since Taz-plexed Angle on his head. I think it ws harder for him to be able to execute his suplexes safely in WWE due to his height, and WWE wrestlers being taller than the ones he worked with in ECW. Anything is dangerous when you add tables ladders and chairs(oh my!).
    The norwinski foundations guidelines have so many moves are already banded.
    Sigh Goldberg was concussed and performing in hundred degree weather.
    The move was a botched jackhammer.

    Couple of things:
    1. You pointed out Daniel Bryan and Lars Sullivan use the move in WWE (both of them arent even signed anymore). No current WWE star uses that move.
    2. Goldberg was supposed to do the Jackhammer to the Undertaker. Not a brainbuster

    Didn't Paul London or his tag partner give Chavo a serious concussion off a shooting star press on smackdown back in the 2000s?
    Maybe it was a 450. It was pretty horrible though! Chavo was out cold.

    • @donovanbradford8231
      @donovanbradford8231 2 года назад

      Yes, Billy Kidman sadly botched the move back in 2004 where he clipped Chavo around the head area and Chavo was legit taken off tv to recover. Kidman did feel terrible about to the point of WWE turned it into a full blown heel turn story between Kidman and London.

    The diving headbutt is not as dangerous as you make it out to be. Normally, you land head turned to the side, forearms flat on the mat so you barely make contact with the upper chest of your opponent, if you even do make contact. For Benoit and Dynamite Kid, they literally took the business to a point where it was their entire lives to make sure the fans knew it was real. So, they’d make contact. They’d gauge just about where they can get away with it, aiming for the top of the shoulder everytime, that’s a lot more bone-y than a pec, well.. that’s where you go wrong. From headbutts, no one else has gotten hurt from them. In Benoit’s case, it was from unprotected chair shots, working through concussions multiple times, and having to make everything look so real.

    • @vct454
      @vct454 2 месяца назад

      Uh.
      Daniel Bryan used it and he literally has a well documented history of serious brain injuries. And you can't even test for CTE until someone is dead, so there's no definitive way of knowing how much damage has been done to the still living people that use it.

    The only move I agree should be banned is the diving head but. Nothing else is anymore dangerous than wrestling it’s self. The head but causes damage each time it’s performed. These moves when done properly also do damage but not on a scale larger than most other wrestling moves. They’re dangerous because it’s wrestling. They’re not dangerous because they’re dangerous.

    • @Deathpool_04
      @Deathpool_04 2 года назад +1

      The thing about it is that if Chris was actually hitting people with it. Angle said that Benoit’s didn’t really hit. His head would connect but not enough force would make it so that it would hurt Benoit. Angle also went on to say that it might’ve because of the whiplash that came from the diving headbutt along with how Benoit had neck issues which would mess with the brain as well.
      However, it’s possible that Benoit did hit people with it since back then, it was a badge of honor to work while hurt.

  • @tinheart2853

    I still don't get why people consider Styles Clash dangerous, it can be botched, of course, but so can be every other move. Michelle McCool was doing it for years and never hurt anyone and she's not super taller or more muscular than her opponents so she cannot easily throw them around

    To be fair the shooting star press and brainbuster isn’t that bad can it cause a serious injury? Yes but those moves don’t really have a bad legacy the brainbuster is a modified suplex, the shooting star obviously has to be in perfect position but these days wrestlers hit it to perfection so I don’t think it needs to be banned
