This is the third time you have saved me time, effort and lots of money. Thank you so much. I had this very problem at my elderly mothers house on New Years day. I noticed the bathroom floor was soaking and water was coming into the kitchen. The combi boiler is situated in a linen cupboard in the bathroom. I turned off the water and vented which stopped the immediate and significant leak. I saw where the water was coming from and Google landed me onto your website. I dismantled the joint and cleaned the fibre washer which otherwise appeared ok. I cleaned verdigris and lubricated the connection threads as they were very dry and screaming when tightened. Leak stopped on second assembly / tightening. I'm going to get a new washer when the shops are open. Thanks again.
@@dereton33 Had other leaks in my boiler and a small amount of silicone sealant worked for them. I had some left over from a kitchen job years ago(not a big cartridge, but just a small tube). The good thing about it is it forms it's own seal when opened, stopping the rest from setting.
Hi, I have the same boiler with the same leaking fibre washer on the joint! I tried nipping it up but the boiler has been in for a while so its going to need a new washer. I'm confident to do it and have drained the system several times. I'm struggling to find the size of the washer. You wouldn't happen to know what size I need, would you? I bought a basin spanner today...I can't believe I've struggled with grazed knuckles in tight spaces for all these years! Brilliant tool. Thanks for your video's, you have taught me a lot.
Hi Jc, all those washers are different sizes, best bet is a visit to a pound shop where you can buy a bagful of fibre washers of all sizes one of them is bound to fit.
Thanks for this. I think you've solved the problem of me to have to keep filling my boiler up every five days or so. Under my boiler there are bluish greenish marks on the pipe mentioned in the video. Boiler is only a year old or less. I can't get on the nut with the spanners I have so tomorrow I'm off to screw fix to hopefully get one of those basin spanners. I will update this comment to say if this fixed my problem. Cheers All these videos are appreciated.
Hi, I got confused while you were tightening the joint. Shouldn't you be tightening the other way as you are looking the joint at the bottom. I know its righty tighty but i still got confused. Sorry, i am just a learner.
Thanks got a similar problem tried to tighten up but weeps when heating first comes on just one drip ON CH FLOW no more than that. Looks like I am going to have too drain system and fit new washer ☹️
Hi. At 1.20 mins into the video you show the tightening up of the nut - just beneath is the black water turn off valve. I’ve just developed a slow drip from this valve on my Main Combi Eco 25. Is there an easy fix for a drip ? Thanks in anticipation of a simple answer.
The leak will be inside the boiler casing somewhere leaking through. You will have to get an engineer to look at it as you are not allowed to remover the boiler cover.
Omg the Hoover 😂 please can you help, on your boiler the white plastic part at the back left as you look at the screen. That’s leaking on mine. Any idea? 🙏🏼
Hi have a leak in my boiler,it seems to be coming from the bolt above the filling loop valve (I think that’s what it’s called) and my pressure keeps going down any ideas of what I could do to fix it ?
Could be your expansion vessels flat. Does it when heatings running go towards 3bar if so it’s triggered the prv anc will be leaking through the 15mm to external
hi, good advise, save a load of money if that's the cause, I'm glad your wife likes your tools, could you tell me the name of the long adjustable spanner please, sound like basal spanner on video.

Yes that is the business Mike.
@@dereton33 I've got a chunky solid steel basin wrench 🛀 🔧. Works with that too!

Did one the other day Al, I had no one in the back hoovering though disturbing the peace 😁
Lucky you P B. Jan and that blinking hoover.
Sir that’s a mighty fine tool you have there
Ha ha it sure is.

YOU'RE A FREAKING YT HERO AND DESERVE A COMMENDATION: 🥇 👍.
No problem 👍
Hi, the water is dripping from that white plastic dome thing behind what u were tightening up. Any help on what it is and how to fix please? Thanks
It’s the condensate plug. Probably the washer. dhsspares.co.uk BAXI 5118972.
Thanks for the reply Geoff.
Tell them to turn the hoover off 😂😂😂👍Great video.
Flipping cleaners. Ha ha.
Incredibly helpful! Unlike the person hoovering in the BG haha!
Glad you liked it!

No not in this instance.

Yes sorry Wayne.
Hi, which spanner is the longer one? Is it a basin spanner or basic spanner? I couldn't get it properly because of the hoover noise. Thanks
The basin spanner.
Great vid. Can you provide a link for that spanner please?
It is on my Amazon shop page.

Afraid the valve will need to be replaced.
@@dereton33 Thank you for the reply. I suppose that means I’ll have to drain down the whole system ? Correct ? And thanks again.
Legend. Thank you.
You're welcome!
What is the white plastic container to the left , mines leaking from there?
The leak will be inside the boiler casing somewhere leaking through. You will have to get an engineer to look at it as you are not allowed to remover the boiler cover.
@@dereton33 My cousin is a bio engineer. Will that do?
Thank you so much. You are a star mate

Could just be the seal, try giving it a nip up with a spanner. If it is still leaking then it will need a new fibre washer.
Hi have a leak in my boiler,it seems to be coming from the bolt above the filling loop valve (I think that’s what it’s called) and my pressure keeps going down any ideas of what I could do to fix it ?
You can try some leak sealer, failing that, an engineer to look at it for you.
Thankyou I’ve tried tightening the filling loop To stop it leaking but it doesn’t seem to be moving, i will try the sealer Thankyou.
Could a weep like that cause pressure to drop al im toppin my boiler up every single day but no signs of an obvious leak anywhere
A weep is all it takes for the pressure to drop yes, there must be a leak somewhere if you are stopping up daily
Yes Thomas is right. But it would be a bigger leak than the one shown in the video.
dereton33
So why am i not seeing water in the ceiling or whatever then surely id be seeing something ??
It may be a pipe under the downstairs floor, so you wouldn't see it.
Could be your expansion vessels flat. Does it when heatings running go towards 3bar if so it’s triggered the prv anc will be leaking through the 15mm to external
Why is someone hoovering in the background whilst your doing your video?
My wifes a sucker. Ha ha.
