  • Wish you all a very happy #Mahashivaratri ! Sharing with you "Akshaya Linga Vibho", a masterpiece by Shri Muthuswami Dikshitar in ragam #shankarabharanam set to Mishra Chapu thalam. He composed this piece on Akshyalingeswarar, the deity at the temple in Keezhvelur (Keevalur near Nagappatinam, Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu).
The charanam also alludes to the name of the goddess at the temple, Vanamulai amman, and the holy tree of the temple, Badari tree. The first line of the charanam goes - " badarI vana mUla nAyikA" . We are all blessed to have such rich history documented in the form of these compositions by Dikshitar.
