It's worth noting that the driller is also the only class where literally his entire loadout is able to dish out damage, even his traversal tool (if it drills rock then it can drill your skull too).

If I am going into a bug nest with a flamethrower, I am GOING to use it on the bugs. It is satisfying to just slide my mouse across the screen and wipe away the glyphids like they are dry erase marker.
here's mine: flamethrower and cryocannon pair well with the microwave(with opportune loadouts of course), while the sludge flinger goes with the EPC. being able to light your puddles on fire is a quite significant damage boost and i can commit more warcrimes at the same time
For me it depends, I use the pistol with full auto with the flamethrower for general damage, plasma charger with the cryocannon for the hot cold combo and the fact that both use overheat instead of reloading, and the wave cooker is decent in most scenarios and good for robots.
I like to use Subata with the flamethrower since the extra damage on burning enemies makes it actually pretty decent. The Wave cooker pairs well with the cryo cannon if you pick the skills that will cause it to deal a huge damage spike on frozen enemies, and the EPC and Sludge Bomb both fit a deranged lunatic.
best secondary depends heavily on your primary. the subta pairs well with flamethrower, the plasma gun pairs well with flamethrower and cryo gun, the microwave pairs well with the flamethrower. i personally use cryo plasma cause stealing scouts job after c4ing him is funny.
Just finished recording a bunch of juicy footage for Engie. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a suitable lawn chair... but I did make a discovery. Hopefully a military blockade is more to your liking. (:

Take your hand held acid spitter shoot one ball on a patrol bot and shot him like 3 tims with the pistol. And 2 shoots of acid with tik Damage will kill pretty much all turrets

Just a few more things : - Driller Can be good against dreadnought however the flametrower isn't a really good option since they have a big fire resistance and can't be set on fire. The cryo cannon and sludge pump are better option against them most of the time. - cryo cannon is really good if you want to use your drills as weapons, also drills and axes both work with the vampire perk. -the thin containment field for the plasma pistol in tier 5, shoot a charged shot then shoot the projectile with a regular shot. It does a bigger explosion that deal really good damage and can destroy terrain and mine veins.

Maybe, but he microwave gun really synergizes well with the drillers' main weapons. It can do loads of extra damage to enemies on fire or frozen, (sludge too I think) and deletes swarmers and neocytes spawns with ease. Plus it kills exploders without them exploding, ironically, because it kills bugs by exploding them haha

Plat Driller Tip: Sludge & Blistering Microwave can Slow Dreads to a Standstill. Your More like a Support tho, but its op in a team on high levels. If solo either Ice spear or face melter will clear the dreads
Man, the sludge pump is the only driller gun I haven't put real time into. And its not because its bad. It's really good! But of all the drillers guns, it feels like the most dramatically impacted by the overclock you select. It feels like it has several unique builds into one and that's so neat! But which one do I select >.> that's it I'm going back to the old tried and true No. 1 or No. 2 Flamey and Freezy!
And for those who don't get what I mean, the variance in how to build the gun is actively intimidating to me next to how easy the other two are to pick up and play.
Pssst lads! Driller main here, 2 stones for, one advice one for the geneva checklist! One, if everyone is using the friendly fire perk, nothing hurts unless it's explosives, which mean indiscriminate usage of dakka without being fined by management for medical fees! Stone 2, if you have 2 drillers, have one bring the flamer, and the other the sludge thrower. The sludge is flammable, you can throw it down and have the flamer ignite it. So not only are they being melted by corrosive sludge, they are also being cooked by the flames, which yes the flaming sludge does ignite fire damage. Excellent door mats for bunkers! Yes me and my exit buddy always use the damage reduction perks, for amount of flames and dakka and high grade explosives used within the detonation field it's a must!!!!!! Being swarmed sucks with no ammo, but satchel charges creates lot breathing room real quick!!!!!!!!!!!! I have and will detonate a satchel at my feet without hesitation xD
I always run Cryo Cannon and Microwave Beam. Freeze an enemy like a praetorian, oppressor, or dreadnought. Then, proceed to microwave them and watch half their health bar disappear!
Ok you can do driller on elimination missions but you have to use the sludge pump with volatile impact mixture and an extended mag with extra normal shot damage. Also the flamethrower is not the most efficient way to eliminate webs because impact axes work on them. Throw them through the web and now it’s gone and you can pick it up later. You can also use the Thinned containment field for the EPC to create an implosion when your charged shot is shot by something such as the normal shot for your EPC, this carves away anything in the blast radius. It’s also ideal for killing the scout when he’s on a platform. The Collette wave cooker has a mod called the endothermic reactor that causes temperature shock on burning or frozen enemies, this will cause a good amount of burst damage which is actually good at killing oppressors from the front, just make sure that your flamethrower or cryo gun can freeze or light it on fire before you try this
I can't deny. Their utility and DPS are so high compared to the others. The only thing they really struggle on is Sabotage. Big robot too far for flamethrower. ):

I like to use the combo of sludge pump, then gas grenade, then plasma pistol. it holds them in place for the gas grenade, which is then ignited by the plasma pistol giving them every driller status effect at once.
The springloaded ripper is probably really good, but when it came out I killed myself and my teammates more than I killed bugs so I kinda steer clear of it xD
1. be last one alive 2. drill tunnel 3. throw ripper at a 90° angle at the tunnel wall 4. watch as pretty much EVERYTHING get ripped appart when trying to get to you. (even oppressors or other dwarves, hence step 1) 5. (optional) use the time to drill a tunnel below your fellow dwarves to res them if your team decides to live in your bunkers, you can actually make use of it even without them having to be dead. but it might absolutely reduce them to shredded meat if they try to leave while the thing is still spinning. note, if you strafe while throwing, it will not tilt the shredder away from the direction you're facing when it lands. so you can throw it in a way where you are not at risk of being shredded yourself.
Full-on driller main, my inner sociopath is completely sated every time I freeze an oppressor and connect a hatchet to his ass. One-shots every single time.
I use driller for two things, hunting down glyphids, and hunting those pesky blue dwarves that keep getting on my nerves with their squeaky voices. Mmmm…the hole calls their name.
Being able to cook the HE grenades made them fit in much more with driller. Not only did it make the grenade much stronger because you can actually hit groups without it bouncing away but if you hold it too long it will explode in your and probably your teammates faces doing quite a decent amount of damage.
My brother plays driller. He decided to put an explosive down and detonate it while me and the rest of the squad were in range. He then proceeded to die falling off a zip line.
The only legal weapons if used in our world would be the Flamethrower, Pistol, Axe, Satchel, and HE grenade with the Drill being in a Grey area if its only used on people "accidentally". The rest would break the Geneva Convention (the Experimental Plasma goes in here do to the phasing through you while incinerating your organs ability option, and the Cryo would just not be viable due to how freezing works and at that point your just most likely freezing noncombative/surrendering people). So you can make a non-war criminal Driller from this random comment your reading.
Had a driller moment the other day where I almost failed the mission by trying to c4 an oppressor and ended up blasting 2 dwarves instead and almost died trying to save them
driller IS good on boss missions, he slays with default weapons on industrial sabotage and he is also really strong against dreadnaughts with corrosive sludge pump + wave cooker
Every piece of drillers equipment that can do damage is or has the potential to be a war crime. Pickaxe, impact axe, drills and the chainsaw wheel (forget the name) - use of melee weapons. Sludge pump and the 2 neurotoxin grenades - chemical warfare. Flamethrower - Killin em with fire. Cryo cannon - ok there's nothing in the Geneva convention about freezing someone solid and shattering them because we don't have the technology for it. But if we did, it'd be a war crime. The pistol - killing someone at point blank range. Wave cooker - Pretty sure turning someone's organs to liquid would be a war crime. So anyway that's why I main driller :)
Nah, hard disagree on refinery being the favorite for driller, unless you like boring straight pipelines. Engineer makes way more sense for refinery missions, you wanna have fun building rollercoasters and you're gonna need those platform supports to touch every aspect of the ceiling and walls, also the drop pod never drops somewhere you could need to dig to on those missions.
Can confirm, Engie is pretty fun on Refinery for those wacky coasters. But if you are tryharding on Haz 5 and want to leave Hoxxes with all your fingers, I'd say Driller on Refinery is the best combo out there. Maybe I'm wrong, but it is definitely my go-to.
You say the driller isn't good at elimination, but ai love the sludge with the microwaves and the axes. And the C4 is nice too. You can even use the C4 to trigger the boss fight remotely and fight it in whatever room you want.
I wish there was more of an upgrade path to the drill itself, as I feel it doesn't get used in the Driller's kit enough and I wish there were overclocks to really transform it's power, strength, and speed.
Yah, there is only so much you can do with it unfortunately. I would say do kookie things with its damage, but I'm too busy wishing that DRG is going to have a melee weapons update. Why improve your drills when you can have a greatsword that does Neurotox damage or something like that since Driller is DoT based. Give me my melees!
@@ExplosiveT-5 No no no! You are missing the absolute *heaven breaking* potential of Drill overclocks. Beefy Drill- The drill gets a bit more of a charge, and less cooldown, for less cool speed. Giga Drill- the drill has a larger range, higher damage, and can mine minerals. But it's speed is reduced by 35%, and so does it's DPS, plus it still heats up just as fast if not 10% faster. Speedrill extreme- Drill mines 70% faster overheats 60% faster and the longer the dwarf mines with this overheat, the faster his velocity (walking and air speed) Resulting in him getting launched in the air if he's in open space. I have even more ideas but will send them later.
My fav thing to do as driller is use the cryo cannon to freeze other players. as i do it i ususally say something like "You know what my fav movie is? FROZEN"
Truly an unfortunate oversight. I mainly use the Plasma Charger for long range chores like fleas, spitballers, and webbers so I tend to neglect the charged shot's potential.
The Subata 120, while appearing less exotic compared to the rest of driller's arsenal, was actually designed to atomize the joints in my index finger.
This is the most relatable Subata comment I've seen.

You forgot that the flametrower pretty much instakills turrets and other rival tec when you set it on fire. Its my favorite part about it.

I don't know about the cryo cannon for dreadnoughts but the sludge pump is good especially if your the dreadnought's target.
I heard that Ice Spear is a perfect Cryocannon overclock for dreadnoughts, since it's esentially a chunk of immediate single target damage

Not with sticky flames, though it is still kinda difficult (sticky flames replaces the default cooling rate of whatever walks -or floats- over them)

I use driller for two things, hunting down glyphids, and hunting those pesky blue dwarves that keep getting on my nerves with their squeaky voices. Mmmm…the hole calls their name.

driller is the best at fighting dreadnoughts honestly. sludge pump is OP
Being able to cook the HE grenades made them fit in much more with driller. Not only did it make the grenade much stronger because you can actually hit groups without it bouncing away but if you hold it too long it will explode in your and probably your teammates faces doing quite a decent amount of damage.
I'm a green beard and this is my favorite class because I can do war crimes against bugs! Yay!!

driller IS good on boss missions, he slays with default weapons on industrial sabotage and he is also really strong against dreadnaughts with corrosive sludge pump + wave cooker

Every piece of drillers equipment that can do damage is or has the potential to be a war crime.
Pickaxe, impact axe, drills and the chainsaw wheel (forget the name) - use of melee weapons.
Sludge pump and the 2 neurotoxin grenades - chemical warfare.
Flamethrower - Killin em with fire.
Cryo cannon - ok there's nothing in the Geneva convention about freezing someone solid and shattering them because we don't have the technology for it. But if we did, it'd be a war crime.
The pistol - killing someone at point blank range.
Wave cooker - Pretty sure turning someone's organs to liquid would be a war crime.
So anyway that's why I main driller :)

Nah, hard disagree on refinery being the favorite for driller, unless you like boring straight pipelines. Engineer makes way more sense for refinery missions, you wanna have fun building rollercoasters and you're gonna need those platform supports to touch every aspect of the ceiling and walls, also the drop pod never drops somewhere you could need to dig to on those missions.
Can confirm, Engie is pretty fun on Refinery for those wacky coasters. But if you are tryharding on Haz 5 and want to leave Hoxxes with all your fingers, I'd say Driller on Refinery is the best combo out there. Maybe I'm wrong, but it is definitely my go-to.

You say the driller isn't good at elimination, but ai love the sludge with the microwaves and the axes. And the C4 is nice too. You can even use the C4 to trigger the boss fight remotely and fight it in whatever room you want.
I wish there was more of an upgrade path to the drill itself, as I feel it doesn't get used in the Driller's kit enough and I wish there were overclocks to really transform it's power, strength, and speed.
Yah, there is only so much you can do with it unfortunately. I would say do kookie things with its damage, but I'm too busy wishing that DRG is going to have a melee weapons update. Why improve your drills when you can have a greatsword that does Neurotox damage or something like that since Driller is DoT based. Give me my melees!
@@ExplosiveT-5 No no no! You are missing the absolute *heaven breaking* potential of Drill overclocks.
Beefy Drill- The drill gets a bit more of a charge, and less cooldown, for less cool speed.
Giga Drill- the drill has a larger range, higher damage, and can mine minerals.
But it's speed is reduced by 35%, and so does it's DPS, plus it still heats up just as fast if not 10% faster.
Speedrill extreme- Drill mines 70% faster overheats 60% faster and the longer the dwarf mines with this overheat, the faster his velocity (walking and air speed)
Resulting in him getting launched in the air if he's in open space.
I have even more ideas but will send them later.
