What made IU so unique is that she is so close to her fans. She really opened her heart to them and treat them like her own. That, I find her very different from other celebrities. She really really appreciate her fans for who she is today. As she once said, ‘ without her fans, there will be no IU.' It all started with one fan who cheered for her while the rest of the audience dun even cared. That gave her to be confident to sing her heart out and won her first trophy and gave her a dream. Many of her sad songs were written becos of her heartach she felt when one boy rejected her in school. I am not sure if she has fully recovered from that devastating experience even after many years. Her song ‘Through the night’, I felt, was meant for the boy to listen. Also her other songs like 'Dear name', 'forgotten season', and 'one sided love’, ‘station’ and especially ‘voicemail’, were her way of expressing her sadness. All the songs she wrote (some by others) and sang are very real, in that, they came out of her personal life experiences such as her insomnia, the death of her friend, her best friend Yoo Inna, etc. I feel that IU deserves to be much much happier for all that she is. Her talent, her good heart, her honesty, her sincerity, her humanity, her gratitude, her love for her staff. It’s just so beautiful. I can’t find any flaw in her character except that she cannot get over that boy and other sad episodes in her life. I wish one day she will be strong enough to let go and be free again. My hope is that she will write more happier songs, inspiring songs to encourage her fans and her self to be strong to let go and be free once again. I shall always pray for her.
Couldn't say it any better, She's someone that is an amzing person that even words can't really describe the feelings i have towards her. She I could give back to her, the world even. Im uaena since 2011 and i can say that its not easy to see her cried. (Except in drama) She is really a strong girl in that small frame. I really hopes she will be happy until the end. 😊😊
After watching "My Mister", my heart has totally fallen. When I watched her "Hotel De Luna", I dropped my tears at last. But for My Mister, when I know it was also reflecting her childhood, my heart broke into pieces. IU put her heart into dramas, music, she put her heart into her fans and other people. Why is she popular? Because she does not wear a mask to hide herself, she even shows every side of herself. She is kind, she is beautiful, she is sweet. I don't even know how to describe anymore, but she is just an Angel. You rescued our hearts, and we will protect you IU.

I keep coming back to this video and it amazes me that she wasn’t overwhelmed with emotions because ‘I love you IU’ or something similar to that was written on the placards. They were names of her fans and it just shows how much she loves uaenas that it brought her to tears 😭

I remember on an episode of Hyori’s bed and breakfast, she confessed to Hyori that she has a habit of suppressing her feelings. When she feels happy or sad, she controls it so it stays in between the two. Her success since its her 10th yrs anniversary since debut is due to the people who believe and trusted her and still continue to support her through out her career. So she got emotional.
