Hi Paul, Really great footage loved seeing the C17 running and the sound of the engine remains me of C17 934 at Zig Zag Railway miss that engine sound.
Interesting to see the hoppers lying around. Wonder what they are doing there. Perhaps the track is leased from the society or does the qr rail (what ever the privatised freight portion is called now) owns some of the track around the Gimpy station.
The wagons stored in the yard are Grain wagons owned by Aurizon, who pay the Rattler Railway Company to store them in the expansive yard. There is also a rake of wagons down at Monkland. New operator Watco has secured a contract with Graincorp to haul Grain out of Goondiwindi and Thallon in SW Queensland.
Years ago, Ron Harris, (RIP) was driving, he let me jump on the plates, for a short run. I am still hard. There are two things in Engineering that press my buttons. First, Steam of any sort, second, Bridges of any sort. Thanks Paul.
@@paul1089 that stuff is not bad its quite bituminus though burns pretty voilently, I've used it my 7 1/4" freelance steam loco although the C17 would have loved it i recon.
Good show. Good camera work.
Thank you.
gotta love that 3 chime
Short of the chime fitted to the A4's, there's no better sounding whistle than than that of a QR 3 Chimer.
