Any tips he gave on mentality of bowling can be extended to all facets of life. Even trivial tasks. It’s a success mindset that many high level athletes ive seen always talk about.

Jason is a class act man. He has so much success he can do things like this with the people he competes against every week. I feel like something like this would never happen with the "previous" generation of bowlers. I would love if Netflix did a series on the tour, like Drive to survive and Full Swing. Belmo! You got the connections to possibly make it happen!

That comment about oiling the lanes and the general public.... I get asked soo many times by the public, "How do you make it spin like that?" I tell them there is oil on the lanes and when it hits the end of the oil it grips and they are like, "there's oil?" It must happen in like 80% of first time conversations.

WOW…..what a video. One of your best. I haven’t bowled in 35 years, but after watching your channel for the last month, you’ve inspired me to get back into it. Signed up for league play starting in May. In the video you talk about trying to address the negativity around this sport, and your passion to change attitudes, well you keep posting my friend, attitudes WILL change, even get some old guy like me back to playing again. I’ll be sure and tell all my fellow leaguers about your channel, count on it, Keep it up!!

Anyone can watch this and not only be inspired by what is said by both of you, but also can learn from it, regardless of style (I know I sure did and I’ve been bowling for 35 years).

I have always had a true respect for Jason, but seeing recent things -- this video with the way he teaches, the way he stood up for Breanna Clemmer on FB, his physical game, and the positivity -- I admit, being left handed, I am not ready to say he's the GOAT yet, but I say YET -- he's got some more winning to do, to beat guys like Norm, Earl, Walter Ray, Pete...but man, he's quickly joining the ranks. And this video has me respecting him even more. I love getting to learn Packy's game and his mannerisms, and just the positivity between the two...amazing. I have my PBA card, and am bowling PTQ's and regionals, and hope to the grace of God I can get to be nearly as good as these two guys.

    It's Packy, automatic thumbs up.
The thing that makes mental blocks so challenging and irritating is that you know how to perform a skill… You know you have the ability to perform the skill and… You know you have successfully performed the skill in the past.
When athletes face a mental block, the common response is to figure it out… tinker with technique, over-work, over-analyze and overthink, which just serve to embed the mental block further into the mind of the athlete.
Instead of trying to FIGURE THINGS OUT, just trust in your abilities and your training. After all, you successfully performed these skills in the past, so get out of your head and let your body perform like you trained it.
Mental strategies can not only help you break through blocks but also strengthen your mental game, preventing some mental blocks from popping up in the future.

Always loved bowling. I remember starting in high school too. had ZERO experience bowling competitive. Learned to hook with a house ball in a few weeks. I saw Osku on tv once and I immediately wanted to bowl like him...then I saw Belmo, and I was hooked. I learned to bowl two handed by watching them on tv. 14 years later I still learn from them...among other 2 handed bowlers now. I still feel rough around the edges...but as someone who is 100% self taught, I'm happy with my progress. With that said, I've learned more in this video than I have in the 14 years I've been bowling. People have told me "28 is a bit old to try to work on going pro" and it's been getting to me. But this video definitely gave me a fire back that I havent had in a while. Thanks to Belmo for doing this, and thanks to Packy for making this happen. Honestly thanks to all the guys on youtube and the tour. Can't say I'll see you on tour, but my name will definitely pop up as a PBA pro, that's the goal.

Damn Champ that was special. Can proudly say I'm in the camp of not caring how someone throws a ball as it's legal equipment and he stays behind the foul line. It was the 2014 TOC at Thunderbowl when I realized how great Jason was. The stepladder guys were exempt from the proam and he was the only one that showed up. Didn't bowl but walked from one end of the house to the other signed autographs, posed for pics. He's great for this sport and so are you. It will be 50 years this fall from my first adult league and I love the modern game.

Without a doubt my favorite video. Genuine guy with incredible insight about the game of bowling. Literally Belmo changed the game. My biggest complaint about bowling is the lack of knowledge by the public about how hard it is and the grind that you guys go through weekly. You don’t get paid enough and respected as athletes. I’d like a movie or series made about the “The Grind” and behind the scenes. That is why I subscribe to your channel. Mad respect about how hard it is to be a pro bowler. Keep up the good work and congratulations on your title.

I was at a Pro-Am tournament when one of my friends was bowling it at Fountain Bowl many years ago. Belmo was one of the hot up and coming bowlers. I was seated near Carmen Salvino and he was kind enough to talking about bowling and the bowlers. He told about this young bowler to watch as a future star and he was referring to Belmo who was not Belmo yet but called Jason Belmonte. He has since become bowling icon and great he is now willing to share some of his wisdom about bowling.

This is a great video. I especially liked Belmo's insight about educating the public. I don't think I've ever seen a "Bowling: The Basics" flyer in a bowling alley, let alone a "Bowling: Tips to bowl better" or "Bowling: How to buy a bowling ball" flyer. All those screens playing music videos and showing silly videos, but nothing about oil, oil patterns, how to hook, why to hook, the best way(s) to hold the ball, how to aim, ball weights, ball layout, why you might want a ball of your own. So many people bowl casually for birthday parties, work dos, etc. who walk out no more informed than when they walk in. I've learned more about bowling watching The House for a couple of months than I learned in decades of casual visits to the lanes.

As an Aussie, I feel Belmo has an incredibly strong mentality when it comes to his game, I started bowling around 10-11 months ago and am around 160-170 average. Hearing him answer some of these questions has been really insightful for me as I am also a 2h lefty like Packy, I bowl in a league where I have had people talk about me being both lefty and 2 handed so it was nice to hear him basically tell us what I already thought. I love Belmo and Packy, you guys should collab more! Would love that signed shirt btw haha seeing Belmo got me bowling 2 handed and Packy was someone I could mirror movement from which helped develop my 2h throws alot. Shout out to Dtang channel also for his information given about what to look for on the lanes. A combo of all three of these guys is 100% why my game has come so far in such a short span! Cheers lads, keep the amazing content coming!!!

I'm 23 minutes into this video and there is so much wisdom and knowledge coming that I'm impressed there is another 32 minutes to go.
Packy you have come a long way since I cheered you on while you bowled your first 800 and 300 at Nutmeg years ago. Congrats on your first title and we are always rooting for you in CT!

That first piece of advice he gave on the short and long term was spot on. Every night in league I told myself "tonight I'm bowling 600 or better" and I focused on my series...and sometimes my lucky socks did me well...and sometimes I fell way short. However, when I started thinking "I'm going to finish the month at 600+"....I started seeing a smooth curve for the next 24 games (2 league nights a week). I stopped seeing these zig zags and started seeing curves. Practice helped....but not stressing about the night literally got myself out of my head.

I realize Belmo was giving you life advice about bowling but that dug deep with me. God bless him. It’s extremely cool you got to have a 1-on-1 with him.

Thank you Packy for sharing a video like this for all of us to learn more about Belmo, and get some great insight on the game of bowling from two winning pros. Congratulations on the 1st of many wins in your career, and again thank you for sharing the game.

This may be one of my most favorite videos you've posted Packy. Not because of Belmo, just as a fellow roller here in Kansas trying to get better. Hope I can make an event and watch y'all in person some day!

A great interview with Jason! And you learned something. As I'm getting older, I'm not as good as bowler but because of you, I enjoy watching bowling and your humor and now my grandson because of that, loves to bowl! Chris

As a bowler who keeps striving to get better, this really was eye opening. Im a 220-225 avg bowler, and I'm always looking for that next puzzle piece as you said to move ahead. I've been a bit stuck though. I really need to get some outside feedback though to improve my game further. But the stuff Belmo said about respecting each shot is invaluable information. I loved his thoughts about breaking down your approach (before the foul line) and then what is happening after the foul line. This is such an amazing video. Thanks Packy and Belmo!

Love Belmo, no doubt the GOAT and such a nice guy. Truly the best in way more than just his skill at the game.
