I don't think you can only know ArcGIS software because the fundamentals of geographic information science go beyond any single software. Even if ArcGIS software is shut down today, We will be able to easily use any other software.
great video! I’m a biologist and I’m debating on getting an MS in GIS. Everything I do is displayed on a map. Any senior level job I might apply for in the future will rely on GIS and would give me a leg up and help me be more self reliant. Your advice to look over the catalog for signs of a degree in software vs a degree in the practice itself is very helpful. Knowing the software and knowing how/when to apply that knowledge are very different. Thanks!
I think A good GIS degree program will cover the one I’m looking into - Programing , GIS ( multiple classes of difficulty) , photography, Cartography, Math , Geography , remote sensing . A undergraduate with skills like this I think will go far
Iam a civil engineering student and learn only one gis course in whole degree which is not enough I want more knowledge for job and career in it can you guide more
Thank you. I'm in a weird spot with picking my major and this helped a lot, Goodluck in life.
I’m so glad it was helpful information! Thanks for watching
GIS and remote sensing will only grow

Can I do plant classification and crop estimate without getting the degree?
The question is will an employer higher you ? Vs the other applicants with their degree ?
I think this is right, before pursuing a career you should know the education and/licensing requirements
No. Go back. Don't do it. Get certs, provide proof of work as in personal and or organizational projects.
