The song isnt about being on the road in a sense of being a band, its about life on earth and just passing through on his way to heaven
This is one of those rare Christian songs by Thrice, which makes sense given Dustin’s (the singer) beliefs. It’s actually about how he doesn’t care what his life is like because he knows heaven will be better. Basically right now he’s In Exile from being in heaven.
You should put this song on, windows down and cruise at night. It is the most relaxing experience you'll ever have.
Would love to see your reactions to "At The Last" from this same album, Beggars. It's pretty different as far as their writing and is my favorite of theirs, but it is a mellower experience overall.
