    I'm 19 and literally this revaluationary to me... I had no idea you can cut and display an egg shell. You opened my mind to something beautiful. I mainly work in fiber art as of late but I think I might add yet another hobby to the mix lol🥳

      WOW!! Well, I hope you do!! We need more egg artists in the field and I welcome you to play with the clay on eggshell!! If you enjoyed this, please, check me out on my other channel as well. The Eggcentric Egg Lady...I don't have as many videos there, but it is all based on eggshell designs you might have fun with and enjoy it. On that channel, I mainly focus on creating on eggshell using colored pencil, pen, marker, watercolor....And thank you yet again, for your kind compliment!! It does my heart good to know I have inspired you so. Sending you my biggest of hugs!! :)

      You are most welcome, Miss Wendy!! And thank you so kindly for your compliment!! Bless you lady!! And yes, it has amazed me over the years how a simple thing as water can make a huge difference when cutting an eggshell. I always think of it though like what something is composed of. And in its natural environment, what does it do and what does it naturally withstand? An egg gets sat on by a chicken. That chicken warms the egg, so an eggshell should not be upset too much by heat...sooooo, I just push the limits of those features...and because of the low fire heat, it works. Again, thank you so much...and as always, sending you my biggest hugs!! :)

      Aoohhhh, Miss Carol!! I believe in you lady!! You can do this...(Of course, my husband gives me a bad time because he tries to explain to me not everyone can...I, on the other hand, an eternal optimist!! LOLOL!! If you can create a rose, you can do this. And...just as important as that is, and I know you will kill me for this...LOLOLOL!! Practice. I would say and still tell people, to carry around in a small ziplock bag, A ball of Sculpey clay. When you have a moment, take it out of your pocket and play. Eventually, you will get better and better at whatever you decide to create in the clay. ...and remember too, part of this is also the tools I used on the eggshell and the clay....Burnisher, needle tool, and a clay gun. Tools can sometime make the difference as well as the will to just keep plugging along. I do hope this helps...and that I may continue to inspire you lady!! Sending you my biggest hugs! :)

    Absolutely amazing this video just showed a lot of steps I had questions on, the last one is how to soften the clay to the standard you used. But, I will get there since I have never used cold paste before excited to do so ♥♥♥♥ Thank you for a wonderful tutorial

      Thank you so much for your kind compliment!! And Yeah, I used my polymer clay to create this eggshell...I hope you will enjoy it. The Sculpey Original white is the secret to creating it...it's the right color of white. It's the bake time that can be a little tricky. Sending you my biggest hugs! :)

    Wow Laura this is stunning ❤ I would love to be able to do this but need to practice the freehand roses, you have superb skill with that. I wonder you mentioned the egg membrane helping when cutting the hole but should this then be removed and anything done to protect the shell when baking? Be great to know, thanks 😊

    • @laurajschiller
      @laurajschiller  6 месяцев назад +1

      Well, just a huge WOW!!! Back at cha' lady!! Thank you for your kind compliment!! Yeah, you need to practice those roses, but after awhile you will get them down and then it is like riding a bike. As to protecting the eggshell from baking, there is no need, so long as it bakes in our low fire heats of 275-300 degrees, the shell can with stand it. And yes, you can definitely remove the membrane in the eggshell. This was something I did not show here in this video, but I will show soon in another egg video I am working on. Or, you can definitely go over to my other RUclips channel, The Eggcentric Egg Lady, and check out my video on the basics with eggshell there. I do hope this helps. Otherwise, thank you again...and as always...sending you my biggest hugs!! :)

    Hello from northern Alberta, Canada! This is so gorgeous! Do you have a tutorial on how to prepare the egg for these types of projects? Did you blow it out?

    • @laurajschiller
      @laurajschiller  6 месяцев назад +1

      Awwww, Miss Colleen!! I am so thrilled you enjoyed this video!! I do have a video on how I empty out my chicken eggshells. It is on my "Eggcentric Egg Lady" channel here on RUclips, along with a few other eggs I have created over there. I have so much in my mind to share on this particular category and so you will see more in dealing with the preparation of the eggshell. It will give you an idea of how I deal with my other favorite medium of eggshell when it comes to the basics. And no, I did not blow this out. I hope this helps you some, lady!! Sending hugs!! :)
