I thought at first that the Discover taplands are pretty neat, but after some thinking I decided I'd rather have a land that cycles or sacrifices to draw a card than a land that gets me Discover 4 for six mana. They are pretty cool in Kellan the Kid though! Big Atraxa Food Chain does seem pretty hard for a casual table, I've played against it more than I've liked to on MTGO, tough to beat without countermagic and cooperation. And then when the one player is down, you feel like a bully, even though it was correct. Some commanders are just bad vibes man.
@@Kryptnyt Yes there is a full scale of power levels to define decks and game groups. I personally think of power groups in 4 categories : Low, Mid, High, Cedh. Casual to me is both low and mid, high and cedh are way more focused and optimized; the difference is cEDH is almost a separate format in terms of card choice and deckbuilding, there is no space for any suboptimal card and there is no space for archetypes; is only a matter of having a decent amount of interaction and closing the game as soon as possible with very specific and linear combos that you can tutor out efficently. Budget is not a concern either in cEDH because tha main and only concern is winning faster than the other players.
@@tinybones2528 See I wonder about it, because Tribal Kai asks for casual games, and him and everyone else are playing decks that are pretty high power, no holds barred, but decidedly not CEDH. So I wonder if he'd get better games if he was somehow able to communicate that, because this is high power stuff. And people who join his games know this, and they bring high power stuff to the table- but sometimes it's the wrong kind of high power stuff, you know? I think Big Atraxa is spooky, but it's not a CEDH deck, right?
@@KryptnytAtraxa definetly belongs in the high powered half of commanders. But, as almost all commanders, it all depends on how you build her; she can either be a quite janky phyrexian tribal build ,a strong optimized blink build that can abuse her etb effect to "tutor" cards from the top ten again and again or a straight up Cedh build that closes through thassa's oracle and demonic consultation/ tainted pact. i've built her like the second option and to me it's high powered but definetly not Cedh, she closes the games through infinite mana combos (peregrine drake+emiel for example) that are too slow and inefficient for cEDH metas. That said i think Kai could surely get more balanced games asking more focused requests among the categories i mentioned (Low, Mid, High, Cedh). The official power level list from 1 to 10 released from Wotc is online though, you can check it out if you want to get a better idea of what "power level" means in edh.

Good job terrax!
This is why you never scoop because you never know what will happen. Great game. Thank you, Terrax, for sticking it out.
Correct.
Great to see how it all works, and yeah so much scoop, thanks Terrax!
That was extremely explosive, very unexpected. GG
GG!

I own an upgraded atraxa goodstuff deck. Is a blast to play but surely i wouldn't see it fit in a casual table of any sort. She is just sooo strong.
Is there something in between casual and CEDH? Like, non-casual, non-CEDH games, something in the middle?

Holy hell!
Terrax is the MVP opponent on here. F the scoopers.
BTW i got so lost with all the cascades. lol
Impressive pop off potential
Definitely slap in blackblade, would help a lot
Especially when it’s easy for Kellan to cheat in.
I always underestimate that card, can't argue with slapping it on lifelink flying guy
Gg terrax
Atraxa and tatyova arent casual?
Foodchain atraxa isn't, I assure you
