I bought this a while back but it’s been on the shelf since. As always you inspire (you’ve cost me lots of money the last year 😂) so it’s gonna get up on the table today. Thanks for your enthusiasm and straight to the point reviews. Keep it up!!
I'm a big fan of your board game material, Dr. Carlson, but I'm mainly here to commend you for your Cody Carlson PHD channel, since I can't comment there. I've listened to all your WWII lectures to date (for fun) and really appreciate your treatment of that very broad topic and that you dive into all the political and social contexts along with the military strategy and engagements. I hope your students can recognize the quality they have in you as a lecturer. A sub o' both your channels!
Thank you very much, sir. I don't have the comments enabled for my lectures because I want to use those videos for classes in the future, and when you discuss anything about that topic, or Nazi Germany, you get a lot of kooks spouting conspiracy theory and dangerous ideologies. I really appreciate your comments. It means a lot to me.
Another excellent solitaire game?!?! My groaning shelves can’t take it! I see the box cover notes that this game is “Solitaire Area Movement Series: Volume 1”. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for subsequent volumes.
I really like this one. So much so, I stopped playing after 3 games so I didn't overdo it and get fed up with it. Also the first ever game I was able to punch, learn and play all on the same day.
Just when I think I've got the addiction under control, and I already have enough games that I can't even get to... I may have to add this one to the stack.
A lot of this game reminds me of the AH game Turning Point Stalingrad . Which is a two player game. But I play solitaire. I d o love TPS (Don Greenwood) but it can be frustrating with the exhaustion rules. If you make bad attacks you can be several turns with out being able to do anything for up to 4 turns. I am not complaining about the rules. Just when you are exhausted you are more venerable, The rules make you think. How where and how far do you push. It is not a clear cut go after objective. A lot of strategy. More so for the Germans. Fun game. Have you played this as I would curious about the differences? BTW ant thoughts on Undaunted Battle of Britain?
When I was a communist leader back in Russia I used to hit on many ladies of high society back then ..... ..... ..... ...... But they informed me that my advances were quite volga
@The Discriminating Gamer I am learning that your opening jokes may not relate to the game you are covering. It got awkward when I learned Star Realms had NOTHING to do with Batman. 🥷

Indeed. Super excited to see more entries into this series.
Second volume now available for ordering. Manila, 1945.
Now back in print!
Fantastic!
Thanks Cody. Any chance of a playthrough?
Maybe somewhere down the line. We’ll see.

Yeah - easy game to learn.
The Soviet's don't lose a die when a Stuka attacks. You roll one die and reduce the Soviet defense by that amount. It could be anything from 1-6.
Very good.

That’s what I do.

I haven’t played that one. Stay tuned for UBOB.
Tack för programmet cody som tysk i Stalingrad är du dömd att misslyckas från början men det ser intressant ut
Tack så mycket herrn. Oddsen är säkert emot dig - men det är ett fantastiskt spel.

First rate!
Reviewing solitaire games is good because it's hard to find players. So as far as I am concerned, the solitaire game reviews the better.
Thanks.
Cody is an errant narrator. Finland has nothing to do with the game!
Ha!

@@thegamesninja3119 Ha! You catch on quick!
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer I actually did my research to find the actual joke you made in a Star Realms video.
Area game, I’m out
Too bad. Great game!
