- Tutorial video on converting a new Samsung (Model: NX58H9500WS) - 5.8 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Slide-In Gas Convection Range from natural gas to liquid propane (LP). I am hoping this video helps another DIY home owner. There are other similar videos on the LP conversion, but this is meant to be specific for the Samsung models.

This 70+ year old woman converted her new stove to propane by herself thanks to your great video. The only thing missing was how to get the door back onto the oven. 😁
Glad it helped! Thanks for the feedback. I guess I should have added the door reinstallation.
For some reason getting the door back on the first time is ridiculously difficult. When we converted this range to propane a few years ago it took me like 30 minutes to get the door back on. I've had to take the door off a few other times since then and never had an issue with it after that.
How do you get the door back on?
I've watched my father but was unsure of my memories. You did a great no non sense concise video. I'll be 71 Tuesday and picking up my new stove tomorrow.
Thank you! Let's just say where Samsung left me hanging with unclear directions, your guidance made it all clear. They should pay you for the service they don't provide to those of us living in rural areas.
You're a god amongst men. Thank you for your gift of fire
You saved us about $200 -- outstanding video -- was probably one of the best videos I have seen in a long time ... excelent work
Glad it helped!
You are a great tutor made it easy or a 70 plus age lady to replace the orificios from gas to propane. Thank you.
Wonderful! Glad I could help out.
That’s hot 🔥
Thank you for the great instructions! I changed my whole range out for LP gas. Very easy to do! I think maybe my husband will be impressed! Thank you again🌸
Glad it was helpful!
Dont say a word about smaller orifices. JUst sayin.
Thank you for the excellent instructional video. Took one of these ranges to Dominica and needed to do the conversion. I was a bit skeptical about doing it myself, but after watching this video, I just did it. Everything was well presented, and by simply following your step-by-step instructions, I was able to get mine done. THANK YOU!
Great to hear!
Excellent video. We live in the south and most areas don’t have natural gas and the wife is tired of cooking on electric so wanted to see what I was in for. You were so even keel while doing this… much different than my installs. 🤣
Thank you!
You should keep making videos! Your calm, detailed style is super helpful- probably do well on RUclips! Thank you !!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to show and help us. Without this video in would been hours to read through the manual!
Great to hear!
Thanks so much for your video don't have this exact model but it's very similar and the parts inside they are all the same. I got this stove for my second house overseas and I was not able to get a certified technician to do it and I didn't want any random person breaking it apart so I did all my research to do it myself but your video helped me so so much.
This is a fantastic video. Thanks for the help. The directions that came with the stove (I have a slightly different model, but the same orifices are involved) would have been terribly awkward to follow. Samsung should have a link to this video with their instructions! Thank you so much for posting this.
You're welcome!
Great job on the video. We just bought what seems like a free standing version of your slide-in and these are right on point. Better than Samsung’s printed instructions. Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Gas company made it seem impossible to do. This looks so easy! Thanks for the help
Yeah. Not difficult, but can be dangerous if not completed properly. They're playing it safe from a liability standpoint.
Thank you! Now I know the actual location of where the oven orifices are. Samsung's owerners manual leaseves a lot to be desired, when it comes to setting up the oven. I did not realize that I had to disassemble the entire oven to make this necessary switch.
I agree. It's a cumbersome process to get the oven switched over. Not difficult, just very time consuming and tedious. Glad this helped out.
We have this exact stove and we love it. It’s a great stove and we’ve had had it for several years now
Many thanks for translating the bake burner burner bake box from the installation guide 😊
Excellent video, well prepared and lit. My sister has the same stove and I was wondering why her flames were so high and uncontrollable. Did some research and found out that she was using propane and the conversion needed to be done. your vid was highly useful and informative, Thanks a million...
That's exactly why I made this video! Glad to assist the fellow DIYer.
Michael Salley it was necessary to bring a qualified technician or someone, or you did it yourself?
This was exactly what we needed; thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom and expertise!
Nicely done. My Samsung was a slightly different model but everything was EXACTLY the same.
Thank you I had one of these stoves to install it said it was on page 55 and we only had 50 pages of Samsung technical. I didn't have any problems with the top burners the only thing that I did differently was rotate the burner orifices 180° upside down punching back into the cardboard blister pack so that they would not get confused. great video. Thank you.
Samsung is getting terrible instructions and products! They used to have good productuts.
Thank you so very much! Just converted mine! Much better instructions than the manual…
Glad it helped!
Thanks much for the great instructions. You really helped with clear instructions. Respect from Jamaica 🇯🇲
You are very welcome!
Great no BS video with clear pictures. Thanks.
Thank you. Glad it helped!
Great video, same steps for Samsung NX58R4311SS. Installing door back can be challange. I suggest to remove bottom drawer and get ready for the door. Fully open those hinges, locks open as well. Go with tips from the hinges slowly in to the slots and sliding from the top down so it's seated at the bottom notch on both hinges. Once it's in, then fully open the door and lock those hinges back. Try to close it & open few times, if everything works put that drawer in and pat yourself on the back. You did great job.
Thank you and I appreciate you adding to the discussion on the door removal and installation.
Not all heroes wear capes... THANK YOU!
Thank you!
You’re video saved me! Thank you so much for making it. I did not have the confidence to make the LP conversion with the paper instructions. Your video made it so clear and it was filmed so well. Much appreciated.
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much for this video. I ordered my slide in Samsung range during the Memorial Day weekend sale and they messed up my cart and sent a all gas range. I wanted a dual range. Oh well I thought I’ll deal with it now, but nothing was working right, lot of carbon and off gas smells. Turns out I’m an idiot, and didn’t convert this over to propane.
Outstanding video. Exactly what I needed.
Glad it helped!
Thank you for being very detailed and taking time to create such a thorough DIY project.
Glad it was helpful!
thank you so much we were having a hard time setting ours up and we decided to watch your videos it was very helpful.
Great to hear! So happy it helped you out.
Excellent video... No clear directions from Samsung but I could see the flames were not right. I wouldn't have picked up the change to the pressure regulator with out your video!! Thank you some much!!
Glad it helped!
This was a big help. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Glad it helped!
great video and will be very helpful as shipping one of these to Punta Cana for our new villa and will need to convert it to propane
Great camera work! A well produced how-to video, bravo!
Thank you for the feedback!
really good video. im currently going to be doing this but going back to natural gas. you wouldnt believe how hard it is to find the ng orifices
Great job of showing how it's done
Thank you.
You just saved me $375. Thanks so much.
Awesome. This is exactly why I made this video!
Huge mahalo for sharing your experience nad insight. Very helpful
Great Video! I have the same range, except it has the double doors. Hoping to move from Houston, Texas to Ocala, Florida soon, and I see no gas in any of the real estate videos. I have had the range for about 6 years and I love it; I just hope I can find where I put the conversion kit when I first bought it! Thanks!
Helpful video. We had Lowe's/CRST install and convert a similar samsung range to propane. But it seems like the burners, burn too hot. It makes me wonder if the installer flipped the dual purpose orifice. I have to check if that orifice is behind the underneath drawer on our model and look under the red cap. I think the propane would have to be turned off from outside the house to flip the orifice. Thanks for the video.
Excellent tutorial. I have this stove and am actually going the other direction - LP to NG - as we are getting the home connected to PG&E Natural Gas. Thanks so much.
Where did you buy the orifices? I'm having trouble finding them for this model
Thank you very much for your video. It was invaluable.
Thank you so much. This video was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, that was awesome.
Thanks for a great tutorial.
Thanks for the great instruction! You saved my bacon, literally and figuratively.
Awesome. Would hate waste good bacon. ;)
Awesome video. If only I could get my damn door back on now!
Thank you for the video simple process but your videoing skills are great super informative and a good reference
Nicely done and very informative Rizzo.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for making this instructional. Very helpful and we'll done.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Thank you so much!
I think your video is clear and precise but I have the same range and i did the same conversion but my oven is not lighting up. I have purchased so many igniters that I am tired of it and ready to torch this range. my igniter glows bright orange and inside the oven gets hot but it does not light up. I try the same thing with the broiler and it does not light either. Piece of junk.
Excellent instructions! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this video. I did the conversion and my broiler doesn’t start. I am guessing the igniter isn’t working. I am going to pull the broiler apart and recheck everything. This video gives. E a good reference for the rework. Fingers crossed....
Good luck. Keep us posted on what you find out. I had an older Maytag stove that the ignitor would routinely fail. When it does, it does not allow the gas to flow. A built in safety feature.
The ignitor on this stove is not the best part. We had to have it replaced twice. First time the repair tech said he would put in a different brand than what Samsung uses and I said I wanted the OEM Samsung part. Big mistake. Was more than twice as expensive and half a good quality. Next time I had them put the "aftermarket" ignitor and haven't had an issue since.
I favorited this video just because the excelent views of the product.
Thank you. I placed my iPhone into a stabilizer / tripod and that really helped.
Thanks for this wonderful video, can you please tell me where I can buy/order this conversion kit and all other accessories that will be needed to connect this stove to a propane cylinder for a proper operation,I have this exact same model that you worked on in this video.
🙏Thank you... I have a problem with my... I see what I missed... I hope 🤞🏽 this video will help me🙂.
Thank you sir. You saved my day ... and maybe even more.
You are most welcome!
Brother you saved me $150. Thank you!
Awesome! That's exactly why I decided to make this video.
Muchas gracias señor me ayudó muchísimo ☺️
Thank you 🙏🏾 awesome illustrations
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@grwebman thank you so very much... because of you my son and I were able to successfully convert our Samsung 5 burner gas range🙏🏾❤️
Thank you so much for this video !!!
Are you able to run this oven on 20 lb tank of propane after properly converting it to propane? Got this exact stove and did the conversion the spud is in properly with the LP big hole showing on the outside its hand tight and all the top burners & bake & broil orifices changed out. The top burners work perfectly but the bake & broiler will not light for some reason. For the bake (bottom) for instance I see the igniter glows red and I smell gas but it wont light. Does the oven light the bake position gas the second you hit start? Or is there a slight delay on the gas while the igniter starts glowing. Does the bake gas start the second you hit bake? Thanks for the video it helped!
You should be able to run this on a 20lb LP tank. The bake gas usually take a few seconds to start, as the system checks the status of the ignitor before opening the gas valve.
@@grwebman Thank you very much for the reply. My first gas stove. It did not ignite really fast like the top burners did so was getting nervous letting it run so shut it off too soon.
Thank you for this informative video, can you do a review for this oven
This was really helpful! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
great video! very clear and detailed! nice job
Glad it was helpful!
Just purchased a new similar Samsung Range: NX60A6511SS/AA. Thank you so much for your video, it was very helpful in converting our Range to propane. I noticed when checking the flames on the broiler they seemed to only come from one side of the broiler tube, is this normal?
Thanks again for the wonderful video!!!!
Glad it helped
Great job on the video thanks. WHAT A DANG HASSLE! What happened to the one piece you set at the bottom end and then your done?
Good Job...That is a lot of work...!
Yes it was! Thanks.
I subbed. I just bought the latest version off this stove and your video was very helpful, thank you. Did you have a separate video on the back of he stove and the flex line hookup? As for that little brass nipple that you inverted - I have one also, so I inverted it as you suggest. What do I do now? Do I cap with that plastic red cap or leave exposed? I don't see how the yellow flex line can hook up to that - I hooked the yellow flex line (with adapter) to an aperture below the brass nipple thing I inverted.
This was an outstanding video!!
Thank you!
Wondering how you like this gas range? Thinking of purchasing. Thanks!
So far, so good. The family really likes it. The large burners get the big 'pasta pots' boiling in no time.
We have the exact same stove and we love it. We bought it at Home Depot and it’s worked flawlessly
I love how you cut away when installing those two side wall nibs on the large burner. Having converted this SAME range to propane years ago and then back to natural gas just today I know how much of a bitch those are to get in. Took me about 15-20 minutes alone for those. I used the same wrench you did but what I had to do was put a piece of packing tape on the back so the nib wouldn't fall out the back. Even then it was incredibly hard for the threads to catch. Took me about 90 minutes total to convert back to NG and get it properly working. It's a good range but it's kind of a pain to keep clean.
Very perceptive. Didn't want to show me fussing with those things for 10 minutes! It was the most challenging part of the install.
@grwebman my new samsung besmoke has a removable cover plate over those 2 side orifices. Do i remove and discard that plate?
I have. Question please, I was able to follow all your steps the only thing I can’t figure out is the size of the LP hose and parts you used to connect it, I would greatly appreciate the help with this info.
I don't remember, as I had reused the LP hose from a previous stove. I am sure the manual would state the size. I had purchase the yellow hose years ago from one of the box stores in their appliance section.
Thanks for the reply. I checked the manual call Samsung and no one seems to have that information :( I will keep trying hopefully I’ll figure it out. And thanks again for the content it was clear and simple to follow, better than Samsung I striction manual.
@@Coachesvision I think I used the following: 1/2-in Flare Inlet x 1/2-in Mip Outlet Stainless Steel Gas Connector. It was bought at Lowes. Brasscraft model CSSC44-36 P. Check it out.
Thanks so much
@@Coachesvision did you figure it out yet? I'm having the same issue
Can you post a video with the stove turn on and all burner on . Thank you
Did you need to adjust the air shutters after the conversion to LP? I know the GE models have marked positions on the air shutters for both natural gas and propane. Great video BTW!
The system worked fine as set by the factory, so i did not have to adjust the shutters.
@@grwebman Thanks for your reply! We get ours delivered today after retiring our 23 year old range.
Grwat video until the end. Still can't get my oven door back on =(. Ha!
On the orifice by the LP hook up in the rear of the range, does that need a red cap?
Once I get my new stove do I have to change those nut 🔩 ??? Foor the. Burner
Please explain. I am not sure what you are asking.
@@grwebman nvm I got it thx 🙏
Thanks for the informative video! We just ordered a different Samsung model (NX587T7511SS), and your video will be invaluable in converting it to LP. One quick question, Samsung says your model is a 'True Convection' model. From what I've read, true convection ovens have a heating element by the convection fan. Did your range not require that, or is the true convection heating element electric?
Our unit is a convection oven, but does NOT have an additional element near the fan. It does have an electric heating element for the warming drawer. Hope this helps.
So, at 10:28 you jumped forward to tightening on the double burner. I cannot get these started. How long did it take you to start the threads and how many times did you drop the orifices down the hole?
A few times. Didn't want to publish video of me fumbling with those damn things!
Do you happen to know if the air mix has to be adjusted somehow on this Samsung? I’m reading that some ovens require this to adjust the rate of fuel. Thanks!
The bake and broiler burners are adjustable, but I did not have to adjust mine. The factory settings were fine. Hope that helps.
I did the conversion but unfortunately when I tried to test how it will work, the flame just flare up boom just like that.I have changed the front valve assemly,I have changed the spark module,I have changed the igniters ,meaning that I have changed almost all that makes the range works and I have not been able to get the reason for the flame flaring up instead of working properly. Please if there's anybody that reads my comment and knows what could be wrong and what can be done should kindly respond.Thanks.
I am desperately trying to find the installation instruction sheet for the LP conversion kit. Would you have that? I only see the general range installation booklet online.
My new samsung besmoke stove has a removable cover plate over those 2 side orifices. Do i discard that plate when i switch them out?
Your video showed a wide open access to the side orifices
Im going to buy a Samsung NX60T8111SS but I don’t find where can I get the kit or if it’s going I to came with the stove, can you help me?
The kit comes with the stove.
Good video here. I have 1 question though. My oven seems to take forever to preheat with the propane. Is there any type of adjustment to the air mixture covers I need to make? Or is there something I'm missing all together? Thanks!
That does not make sense. You may have a failing bake ignitor. I have replaced 2 bake ignitors in this oven so far. Hope this helps.
@@grwebman well I just tested it and it took 20min to get to 350. Does that seem right? It seems long to me.
That sounds excessively long. Here is the ignitor that I purchased on Amazon. It was plug and play. a.co/d/4w5BKcX
@@grwebman I will try that out, thank you!
how do you adjust the oven shrouds for the proper flame? I don't believe the oven will kick on with the door open.
The oven DOES light with the door switch disengaged.
Just bought a new stove, so I watched this video. Funny we bought the house with a stove in it and one burner goes crazy with flames, so we never use that burner.... bet that one burner has the NG orifice in it.
Btw, bought the same stove as u have here
Thank you just bought one. Only the top was converted but the flame comes in strong. Where do you adjust how much gas flows through?
At 14 minutes in the video, I explain about the dual purpose orifice on the pressure regulator. That is the only gas flow adjustment. Be sure that orifice is setup correctly.
Thank you
What's the difference between natural gas and LP?
For homeowners, the main difference between the two is that propane is compressed into a liquid form and either sold in portable canisters, or delivered via truck to a permanent storage tank on their property. Natural gas, however, remains in its gaseous state and is delivered to the home via a pipeline. Also, liquid propane has more BTUs than natural gas, making it more energy-efficient.
plz do a flame test
How is the feedback after using it?
So far so good. The family loves it.
What is the convertor pieces for??? What is the purpose of changing them?? I just thought they were extra replacement parts.....pls
They are NOT extra parts. Running an appliance on natural gas is VERY different than running it on liquid propane. "One cubic foot of propane = 2,516 BTUs compared to one cubic foot of natural gas = 1,030 BTUs. Propane contains more than twice the energy of natural gas." This is why the orifices of the LP nozzles are smaller than those for the natural gas. They are NOT interchangeable and it is a serious safety hazard to run an appliance set for natural gas on LP. Very dangerous.
Very helpfil
I like to convert my new Samsung gas range to LP(propane). is it secure to do my own or need professional person to do it. What would be risky things to do. What I need to do to make sure there is no lick or anything if you can suggest
There is always risk in doing this yourself. I have tried to layout as much as possible in this video to show the steps of completing the conversion. Good luck.
Thank you!!!
What is really scary is that there is no giant sticker on it that says..."Hey...You need to read this"
The Samsung installation manual does say to refer to page 55 in the users manual but there is no 55.
Yeah, Samsung is not big on trying to assist. Maybe too much liability. Nobody would even talk to me on the tech support phone line with questions. They force you to go to a professional. Silly.
