I started experimenting with this patch idea, though my setup slightly differs from this one. I do have a couple pedals in the FX loop, one of which is a delay(technically they’re both delays, but one is the Zoia with a granular delay), so I may see about opening up a block on the HX and have my looping delay be outboard. I will experiment with two different effects in the loop. This is genius, as I had been trying to accomplish something similar, but was unsure how to set it up.

It's like "No Input Mixing" with the HX. Does a Tap Tempo on the Delay block before the Send keep the noise loop in time with external stuff? I use the Boss GT1000core like most people use the HX Stomp. I don't think it would allow an output (send) to be fed back into an input (return), BUT, I have four paths for mine, set up into my Morningstar MC10X/Matrix router...I could probably do this (externally) and add some extra stuff via the other Matrix looped devices...of coarse, adhering to "No Input Looping" rules...WATCH YOUR LEVELS.
Just curious, do you attenuate your Send or Return, or is that compressor block dealing with runaway?
