Next season better give training montage with Juste, since Juste in his prime was definitely no slouch specially in magic (he is probably the only Belmont who reads for pleasure)
I believe that the power of one's magic is the state of someone's mentality. He used his magic once to protect the one person he loved and looked up to, and that magic failed him, so he locked it away in his guilt as a means of coping. That moment is him growing up. Becoming a Belmont, and embracing his pain and sorrow into power when he needed it the most. I like that.
Though his experience alone is not enough yet. Remember, he only yet to discover his power. Of course some would say this is a "Mary Sue" routine, but wrong. He's been doing magic before. Only reason he stopped and it's gone is because of the guilt of losing his mother. Magic alone and whatever skills he got won't cut it. This is just first season. Richter was only gonna take a first step. But with Alucard returns again, I believe he's gonna learn from him a thing or two.
In the games, you're left to assume that the Belmonts spend generations refining their magic and becoming more powerful. In the games themselves you can see the progression of the Belmonts in how they play. Juste is capable of crashes and spells, but in SOTN, Richter's spells are simply more powerful, varied, and destructive. By the time we get to Julius, the grand cross is improved to the point where it sucks in its surroundings and is has the firey depiction you see in this show.

He is the most powerful one, before Julius eventually is born. The blue flames tell it all, not even Sypha, a master magician, could burn them that hot.
I'm thinking if they'll get unique flame colors of each Belmont, Julius' flames would be white. I mean, white flames are known to be hottest known by mankind and shined so bright like how Belmont always be the morning sun that vanquished the night.

Tiny detail I love, before when asked why he doesnt use magic he says "im happy with my whip and knives" but here he loses both, and hes defensless, in the moment of weakness with nothing else left his magic comes back.
A few things I notice about the animation that I love during this fight 1:01 the fire forms a cross 1:03 the water around Richter has evaporated 1:31 Richter forms ice around his neck to stop an attack
Ritcher is truly the best of both worlds! I love how he combines his magic with his whip and martial arts! No wonder he’s often considered one of the strongest Belmonts!
This scene with divine bloodlines in the background is the same as when Alucard, Trevor and Sypha were fighting in season 2 and bloody tears started playing. Amazing 👏
1:00 that looks like him casting the Grand Cross or an imperfect version of it. Wonder if it's foreshadowing his eventual use of it in its complete form later
I'm pretty sure the Super Attacks got reimagined in this series. Like how he throws several daggers quickly at Marquis at the Abbey dungeon, reminiscent of the Thousand Edges
Ricther in the games is a Jack of trades of sorts since he spend his entire life training and studying effectively when it comes to magic and whips making him a formidable Belmont. In the Netflix Series I believe he is weaker in comparison to the games because he lack the training to reach his full potential im hoping in Season 2 he gets better and start understanding it better
lol richter still not as strong as trevor just yet. he cant even beat that winged woman, also she got 1 shotted by alucard. and by the time when trevor didnt have his morningstar whip he somehow on par with alucard lol lol lol. richter need to train his skill more ( magic and whip ofc)
I love this series so much, not only did we get to see Juste following in Trevor's footsteps, but we also got a version of Devine Bloodlines and epic fight that I never knew I needed in my life. I hope we get season 2 soon.
Talking only about the show, this moment was set up nicely. Episode 1 established his mother had been training him as a speaker magician. At 10 years old he was throwing fire at a vampire. This is finally overcoming his trauma- it made sense while also being glorious.
God the way divine bloodlines starts playing is PERFECT. This is how you make a video game TV show netflix. You don't need to stay loyal to the source materal, you need to stay loyal to the fans.
The only thing that I can imagine that could be more hype than this.... Is if Juste also made a magical comeback with his classic red robe, and teamed up with Richter for some epic Belmont combos
In my opinion this ability of magic given to this version makes more sense in mind to how he never runs out of weapons in the game as they run on hearts which could now be interpreted as the belnades magic being used here.
Playing some of the video games when I was younger, I never experienced the games that highlighted Richter as the main Belmont. But the bandanna that he wears and the magic in his blood just makes it seem more like a saiyan character from DB and how he powers up is sooo awesome
Nocturne is kinda misrepresent how strong Richter is. Nocturne Richter is just a mere weakling compare to his Rondo of Blood version, let alone Julius.
OMG the GRAND CROSS escene armonized by that epic version of my DIVINE BLOODLINES was absolutely a delightful master piece which got me f*king goosebumps. I LOVE IT !!
I don't think anything can beat the Bloody Tears scene in S2. But then came Granfaloon, then fight with the Dragan and Dracula's Court, this, then vs Drolta and Erzabet. I think they're all the best.
I JUST realized that Julia and Richter Belmont were wearing blue clothing to resemble Sypha as speaker magicians. It's not just the magic, but also their style of clothing that was adopted from Sypha. I can't believe I noticed until now.
Now imagine how powerful and badass Simon Belmont was in this universe since he is the OG protagonist of the game series. He deserves that treatment. I wish Juste would mention Simon since he was his grandfather.
@hidan407 I feel like most of you are confused by Trevor's use of the morning star. When Trevor only had the whip, he was struggling as much as Richter in vampire fights. It's only when he got the morning star that he started one shotting vampires.
@@mettatonneoexLol, yeah that's literally the plot of SOTN. Richter defeated Dracula so easily that he didn't know what else to do, and Shaft corrupted that part of his personality and brainwashed him to revive Dracula even stronger so they could fight forever.
I was pretty disappointed with richter throughout the start of this series but at this moment of the series I finally said "now this is a belmont" shivers
This is one of the coolest ways i have seen magic being used in a fight. Sypha was creative sure but Richter used it like a martial artist. This is how i imagine a way of the 4 elements monk from dnd should work
I love how despite his magic being the same elements as Sypha's they both use it in entirely unique ways. Sypha is cunning, creative and tactical with her magic as a learned scholar would be and Richter uses it to enhance his brawling capabilities
Compared to Castlevania season 1, which admittedly was more a proof of concept than anything else, it's off to a solid start. Plus, the scene where Tera becomes a vampire is right up there with the best scenes of the first series.
Richter really bring the culmination of the Belnadus Belmont union. Blue fire that burns so intensely it vaporizes the vampires entirely. Ice so durable it blocks things like full on mauls and cuts so sharp that it nearly stakes one with a casual elbow. Tiny detail I love, before when asked why he doesnt use magic he says "im happy with my whip and knives" but here he loses both, and hes defensless, in the moment of weakness with nothing else left his magic comes back.
I teared up hearing the rondo of blood theme. Man overcame his darkness and killed his demons. Absolutely badass
The theme is called Divine Bloodlines, and yes! It's my favorite!
The soundtrack for both netflix shows is just astonishing. Loving second remake of the main battle theme.
I got chills when the music started playing.
Same here, I rewatched it like 3 times
I think my heart legit skipped a beat.
I just rewatched this scene for the 1st time this calendar year.
Goosebumps. Literal goosebumps.
A few things I notice about the animation that I love during this fight
1:01 the fire forms a cross
1:03 the water around Richter has evaporated
1:31 Richter forms ice around his neck to stop an attack
Descended from a great lineage, good combat skills, powerful magic, and a cool outfit without a cape. Result: an epic protagonist
@@desmodius205 Nah its likely that he will gain a complete form of it later on, Since Alucard and Juste going to be around to train him now.
Ricther in the games is a Jack of trades of sorts since he spend his entire life training and studying effectively when it comes to magic and whips making him a formidable Belmont. In the Netflix Series I believe he is weaker in comparison to the games because he lack the training to reach his full potential im hoping in Season 2 he gets better and start understanding it better
watch the series, they make an effort to show the least amount of religious figures, for sure they change it.
What I see is this version of Grand Cross is the same Julius Belmont cast it
Trevor Belmont, God bless you for giving us the most OP generation of vampire hunters
Technically, we should be thanking Leon Belmont.
lol richter still not as strong as trevor just yet. he cant even beat that winged woman, also she got 1 shotted by alucard. and by the time when trevor didnt have his morningstar whip he somehow on par with alucard lol lol lol. richter need to train his skill more ( magic and whip ofc)
Well thankfully Rictor doesn't have the bad habbit of drinking lot of Beer like Trevor but Rictor does like to eat
@@hezrondharma9669alucard defeated her dirty, it was a surprise attack. Also, alucard is in his prime here.
@@NealArt26So Maria could not be "doomed" like Sypha.
Divine Bloodlines: (Plays)
Vampires: Why do i hear boss music...? 👀
Funnily, Divine Bloodlines is a boss music in SoTN.
Now that was an amazing scene, the rage, the determination and the empowerment it brought was extraordinary. I love it.
This is finally overcoming his trauma- it made sense while also being glorious.
you know a scene is good when twitter despises it!
When Bloodlines started playing, it was equal to the Bloody Tears scene in the first season. Pure chills
They really embraced Richter being a Shonen protagonist, he literally fights with flaming fists in the finale
“I was going to say something witty and cutting and brutal before I finished you off, but f**k it”
One of the lines ever said in anime history.
The power, the music, and that awesome headband! Ladies and gentlemen, RICHTER F**KING BELMONT is in the building!
I love Trevor Belmont, but Richter has some incredible magic and feat! Needless to say, he’s no slouch!
I think Richter's better than Trevor.
@@TheFLAMEXDnah Trevor is way more badass.
@@wn6694just wait till richter grabs that morning star then will see how badass he is
Sypha and Trevor caused many generations of vampires to see the palm of a hand when they die
1:21 that look is fucking badass
Looks like Gojo WTF?
1:55 there’s something about seeing a vampire panic 😱 that’s strangely satisfying that we can’t help but grin 😏
Man, this series just keep getting better. They are bringing things up and I am impressed and enarmored by this series....
One of the Best scenes in the entire show 😭
He went super saiyan.
He even killed the last guy the same way vegeta would.
And remember Julius is even stronger than this canonically.
Now thanks to castlevania Nocturne I like to think Julius is the reincarnation of Julia Belmont.
Nocturne is kinda misrepresent how strong Richter is. Nocturne Richter is just a mere weakling compare to his Rondo of Blood version, let alone Julius.
@@thanghoangsong6138 Never in any world a belmont would run of a fight. Let alone Richter.
Black Julius is going to be gangsta
@@thanghoangsong6138 It's only the first season, and he's only just remembered his magic abilities. He will grow stronger in future seasons.
i didnt expect the fights of castlevania to be this great , i swear people , this need to be on demon slayer and jujutsu list
Richer is so badass.
My one gripe with Richter's character in this show is that we never got to hear him say "die monster, you don't belong in this world" 😟
Yet
Just wait
Cause Dracula ain’t here
Yet! Give it time. He's just becoming the Richter we all know and love by the end of season 1. They are just getting warmed up.
They won't drop that line on a random Vampire, but it'll probably be the last thing Erzabeth hears.
Man whipped out the grand cross and started tossing holy water fire like nothing. Man got a cheat code
Ritcher must have used the konami code ^_~
or yk, he figured what went wrong and decided to reload the save file
Divine Bloodline playing in the background. What a fantastic touch
Richter gave six vampires a lesson of “fuck around and find out”, and we’re here for it!
2:24
Having some of Trevor's personality runs in the family too.
Yup
I was laughing with glee when it cuts to the wide shot and his blue inferno forms a cross. Shit's so metal I love it.
He just unleashed the power of the protagonist power-boost
Richter is so goddamn cool, man. They did my boy justice in this adaptation.
That *fuck it* line was worthy of Trevor and subsequent obliteration of Sypha. Truly a fist pump moment. Second season cannot come soon enough.
At 1:32 The ice shield block on the neck detail was 🔥.
"The Belmont Clan, soon to be extinct"
Half of his bloodline isn't even talking yet
How proud leon would be to see his bloodline grow in strength with each descendant
“The Belmont Clan will HUNT the night!”
1:27 I love that while trevor is much better with the whip, Richter is much better at hand to hand combat
He's better at both actually.
@@martmandred9182 Trevor or richter?
@@hidan407Richter.
@@hidan407Richter most likely. He's also got sick knife throwing skills.
@hidan407 I feel like most of you are confused by Trevor's use of the morning star.
When Trevor only had the whip, he was struggling as much as Richter in vampire fights.
It's only when he got the morning star that he started one shotting vampires.
Richter seemed like a side character till this moment. Here he owned the show!
Richter truly is the perfect creation of Trevor and Sypha. Even if he's not necessarily their son
He's better than their son. He's their great great great great grandson.
He gets powerful to a point where Dracula is disappointing
@@mettatonneoexLol, yeah that's literally the plot of SOTN. Richter defeated Dracula so easily that he didn't know what else to do, and Shaft corrupted that part of his personality and brainwashed him to revive Dracula even stronger so they could fight forever.
It was also cool this vampire squad were actually competent and threatening. Dominating 2 Belmonts with speed, weapons and tactics was impressive.
I was pretty disappointed with richter throughout the start of this series but at this moment of the series I finally said "now this is a belmont" shivers
1:47 "whats good?!? You were talking all that good shit just a second ago and now look at ya, pleading for you fucking life." -Ritcher Belmont
This is one of the coolest ways i have seen magic being used in a fight. Sypha was creative sure but Richter used it like a martial artist. This is how i imagine a way of the 4 elements monk from dnd should work
First Bloody Tears, now Divine Bloodlines. All we need is Vampire Killer and Beginnings and we’ll have all the classic themes.
Divine Bloodline proven to be one of the greatest classic.
fun fact the studio that animated this also animated avatar the last airbender and a bunch more stuff we love
when the theme kicks in, I got goosebumps, the same feeling Alucard, Sypha and Trevor enter the Dracula castle
The way they implemented Bloodlines into this scene is majestic.
Annette seeing the burning cross, fully raising an eyebrow
- There's something you forgot about Belmonts.
- What?
- Well...fuck around and find out.
I was going to say something witty, cutting and brutal before I finishing you off.
But Fuck it!- Ritcher is such a badass
I love how despite his magic being the same elements as Sypha's they both use it in entirely unique ways. Sypha is cunning, creative and tactical with her magic as a learned scholar would be and Richter uses it to enhance his brawling capabilities
An entire season of build up for what's to come on the season 2. That last few seconds of the show had me jumping on my seat
if season 2 doesn't happen I will literally cry
Richter getting his groove back was easily the best scene in Nocturne.
Not the strongest season IMO but this scene was probably my favorite so far, gave me chills.
It was the humor, ironically enough. I missed that kind of shit-talking ambling on humor the previous series had.
Compared to Castlevania season 1, which admittedly was more a proof of concept than anything else, it's off to a solid start.
Plus, the scene where Tera becomes a vampire is right up there with the best scenes of the first series.
@@tcrpgfanThat was Alucard and Trevor's thing. I don't want every group to be the same. I appreciate the different personalities
I watched this episode last night. I had the biggest grin on my face when Divine Bloodlines started playing. This scene was done so well
That was INSANE. Such a fantastic season.
Richter later on: Hey, Maria, hook a brother up with some badass finishing one-liners.
Maria: I got you, fam.
That initial burst makes me think of his item crashes, which I'm okay with referring to as his magic spells. So sick.
Richter really bring the culmination of the Belnadus Belmont union.
Blue fire that burns so intensely it vaporizes the vampires entirely. Ice so durable it blocks things like full on mauls and cuts so sharp that it nearly stakes one with a casual elbow. Speed to absolutely dunk on these guys
Also "i was going to say something witty,-but fuck it." is such a trevor moment.
I've seen many batshit crazy comments saying the fights in this series falls below the quality of the previous one.
I feel like we watched 2 completely different shows.
"there's something you've forgotten about belmonts....you'll die when our soundtrack kicks in."
