  • HistoriCity: Florence is a game that sends us back in time to help with the repair of the Italian city of Florence after it had been ravaged by the Black Death.
    It turns out that we're not repairing the city itself but rather we're building a little settlement nearby in order to support Florence's repair efforts. We begin with very little, just a house, some wheat, some wood and a builder's yard, but soon enough we're building more homes, roads, woodcutters and the like.
    We also get to build some very wonderful, very Italian things. There are some nice plazas, a few vineyards and even an olive grove or two! Of course we have the basics too, like wheat farms and a bakery, just to keep things ticking over.
    As our settlement grows we gain the ability to build more things and soon we have wine, olive oil, mutton and even statues to go into our plazas! The happier the people are the better their homes are but can we get some super-fancy apartments?
    NOTE: This is the demo version of the game.

    For the woodcutters, I was thinking, since the forests regrow. You could have 2 fully built, then move your workers out of one to the other, and just transfer them around as needed.

      Yeah, I think that's the best way to do it. Also, all those upgrades wouldn't go wasted.

      Plus he kept putting the woodcutters on the edge of the trees so wasnt getting a lot of the trees, should have put the building in the middle of the forest 🌳

    This and Citadelum a few days ago just makes me think about Pharaoh, the ancient Egypt city builder they re-released not too long ago. I played that game so so much as a kid

    Irl, "building" a field is a good amount of work: clearing trees/shrubs/stones, constructing fences, etc. The only difference I think is that usually it's termed "clearing" a field

    The farms could have been upgraded so they can grow loads of food

    The starvation is really frustrating. When you ran out of food, sure, that was fine, that made sense. But later on you've got huge amounts of food and water sitting around, yet people are dropping left and right from starvation and dehydration. How? Why?

    Really liked your layout this time around. 👍 I did think you were playing quite impatiently and missed out on the Lore you usually make up. Ps. Any more supermarket viideos?

      I finished recording this at a ludicrously late hour, I think getting on for 1am, so I was becoming a little impatient at the speed of it, I won't lie! The crash didn't help.
      And Supermarket Simulator broke, the save file got corrupted somehow so I put it to bed. I think it was time for that one to end, we can look back on it and reminisce. We always had Christmas Jumper Guy...

      @@TheGeekCupboardAbsolutely. I tried out Citadelum based on your video, quite excited for it especially given the publisher having done that military camp game.

      I enjoyed Citadelum, I thought it played quite well. Some games feel like a struggle or like they're lacking but Citadelum seemed quite engaging throughout.

    Seems like it would be easier to have two logging camps and only work one at a time. But the game seems unfinished anyway, a lot of these mechanics seem annoying

    You could have upgraded the farms! Then the fields can be three wide. You also could have built the tax office to collect monies.

  • @francescaknightYT
    @francescaknightYT Месяц назад

    You kept building the wood cutters on the edge of the forests so wasnt getting the full amount of wood from the forests hence they kept running out, you should have put them in the middle of the trees 🌲

    • @TheGeekCupboard
      @TheGeekCupboard  Месяц назад

      It would make sense but you can't build on top of trees! You have to build them at the very edge and then upgrade them a bit to increase their range. As a few people have said, I should have just had two and swapped the workforce between them rather than rebuilding them over and over again.

    Stop whining and build 2 or 3 freaking logging sites and rotate between them.

      In hindsight that would have been the better option, yes!
