I am often rushing when I put pokemon in the gym. So I just click a mon on my highest cp list (this is how I normally have my collection sorted), it always ends up being a shaking g or tyranitar. I wish I used my 98% event blissey more
@@pluhney17whvsj Same in the sense most of my gym defenders are drive by drop-offs so It's just setting the search to highest CP and then whatever I can click on fast.
Where is our Mandibuzz? It should be around top 5. Wobbuffet is also great - it has shabby damage output, but amazing durability and nearly nonexistent motivation drop.
Watching this video because I put Chansey in a gym and wanted to make sure that it was a smart move I should have a Blissey in there instead, but when I found it, I didn’t have any pokeballs to catch it. I got my chansey from catching it as a research task completion reward.
I only agree with a few of these. Very shocked Wobbuffet isn't up there. Pairs very well with Blissey or Chansey. Also shocked that Drifblim didn't crack the Top 10. Both are glaring omissions.
My go-to is actually Wobbuffet. It's just a pain to counter. It's a psychic type so it slows down fighters. Its only charge move is Mirror Coat, which is a not-very-good psychic move (of course it also gets Frustration and Return for Shadow and Purified ones). However it gets Charm and Counter as fast moves, both of which are really good and cover its weaknesses. One philosiphy I live by with gym defense is to NEVER have more than 2 pokemon with a common weakness (unless theres a Chansey/Blissey tag team, which I'd be ok with a third one weak to fighting) and NEVER put those with common weaknesses back-to-back. I also NEVER put a pokemon in a gym with a double weakness, especially to Fighting. I'm looking at you Tyranitar, and don't get me started on Aggron (which is also double weak to Ground). Although Dragonite and Gyarados can usually get away with it, anything other than those make the gyms too easy
I would like mandibuzz mentioned on this list. It has very high def and sta while still low enough cp for it not to demotivate quickly. It is not weak to fighting, dragon, and steel type attack (some of the most common gym attack type imo), its flying moves also hurt any fighting type attacker. it's certainly an underdog in gym defense
I only attack gyms with pokemon that are only 1 kill away from being knocked out of the gym lol. Easy takeovers and just make sure I can hold out for a day or so
Since I already have my platinum badge for gym defense, I only put pokemon that are easy to knock out, in order for me to get daily coins. Not a lot of gyms around my usual walking route. Hi from Cape Town, South Africa
Umbreon is a decent defender too. It has similar bulk as Snorlax, legacy Psychic against Machamps, And CP decay is slower than Snorlax thanks to it's lower CP.
Don’t have to worry about gym defense on a regular basis but there’s a gym near a popular landmark that my boyfriend and I like to try to battle and defend from time to time. Today was so busy that weekend not had our Pokémon in for like 5 minutes. The area was super busy
Holding gym is pointless in front of spoofers because they can auto battle if they use certain 3rd party app and they have countless amount of resources to keep reviving their raiders....On the other hands, same to be said on attacking spoofers on their gym.... I be happy if I can hold 4 gyms for 2hours and 10 mins each and get my daily poke coins... You can have the gyms after my daily coins for all I care.

that blissey is the best i take as a compliment XD i got a gym next to my house andi got a dude pretty sure with double account wrecked about 50 times even with chancy and he places a 2500 blissey now. I am only level 20 btw XD so yeah think i got on his nerves
It will take a few minutes to take down a blissy with the best counters... I was battling for 40 minutes and couldn't even beat it blissy is my PTSD traumatic nightmare horrible pokemon. I know the sentence doesn't make sense I'm just getting the point across to anyone who points stuff like that out.
What is that anoying noice in the background? Its like trying to concentrate in class but that one overactive kid behind is constantly making sounds as hes unable to sit still. 😆
Hi guys, I'm a newbie player. I live in a very remote area and there are no gyms nearby. I go to town weekly for groceries and planning to put my pokemons on a nearby gym there. If I leave my pokemon there for maybe a week, can I feed it remotely? Please note this gym will not be visible in the game from my home place, it's that far from where I stay.
@@pikachu8508 true, but dazzling gleam wrecks not only fighting but any neutral or weak types, mix this with golden berries and nobody is removing you without paying a serious price, this means most people look for easier targets in future.

Me and this other guy would always fight each other and take the gym from each other fir months now and never met in person I love trolling him with the blissey with ofc highest iv and lvl
I don't understand why we want to have Pokémon in gyms forever? Surely after ~10 hours, any further time spent is "wasted" potential, as you cannot earn any more Pokecoins? In my opinion, it is better to throw a couple of week Mons in a gym overnight. They will get knocked out quickly the next morning, which lets you earn more coins quickly and consistently?
What's your best Gym Defender? Lemme know below!
I have half the pokemon in this list. Although not all of them are maxed out nor do they have perfect IVs, that guarantee me my 50 daily coins.

It is 12
Where is wobbufet ? I really like the Mon as a gym deafender it is so tanky. Drifblim also a very Good option.
I second the Wobbuffett. I love my Wob 100 as a Gym Defender and I never need Golden Berries for Wob.
Wob is a go to defender for me as well
It’s good but they can be one shot method… so it’s practically on risked
Hey, this is a kinda old comment but do u know exactly what makes a gym defender mon good? Like iv wise
Would be nice to split them into categories depending on how long you want to hold a gym.
depends where you live to though if your in a really busy area putting good stuff in a gym is still only gonna be held for a day or 2

I once held a far out of the way gym with 2 friends for 257 days cause of winter and covid starting
If I saw a gym last that long I’d just leave it
That means you are pretty broke with poke coins as you don't get income from such long hold lol:D
Theres always more gyms and pokemon to get daily coins
What advantages do you get from holding this long?
I only agree with a few of these. Very shocked Wobbuffet isn't up there. Pairs very well with Blissey or Chansey. Also shocked that Drifblim didn't crack the Top 10. Both are glaring omissions.
Drifblim 14 and wobbufett 16

My strangest Gym Defender but he really works for me is my Level 50 Shiny Shuckle
Makes sense. I don't think two is enough for a shuckle raid and it's just a tier 3.
A shuckle deffender its a pain in the ass, is so anoying, even in battle with the team rocket or on a raid, i hate it, its simple the best

I wanna know what it’s like to fight a lv50 ditto. Debating weather to power one up
First half of gym defending is the pokemons themselves, the second half is the typing order tbh.
I use hundo lv49 Wigglytuff sometimes if my Blissey & Chansey are already defending other gyms.
You have under-estimate Slaking. Slaking could immediate kill Machamp or other Fighting type pokemon with the move "Play Rough"

I have a question , how do u have so many shundos? Some of them are not even from com days
