i think it wasn't rather that they couldn't come up with any plans rather that everything devolving into utter chaos so quickly and simultaneously all across the globe really that it stunted any chance of retaliation

The U.S Navy would have quickly evacuated all of its resources and personnel to the sea or islands, same for the U.S Army, Air Force and Marines. Hawaii and Puerto Rico have U.S Military bases they would hold on and the mainland USA would be abandoned.

It may have also been the case the military might have been trying to draw as many of the Death Angels away as they can. Use the helicopters to draw them away from the water and bring in boats to rescue as many as they could. Whether or not this succeeded, well, we do see atleast one boat managed to gather up people and get away.

Cool to see American logistics deal with the situation, less than 24 hours and evac is set up, attackers are identified. My only gripe is why didn’t they put speakers on the helicopters, play fortunate son, lure all of the things to a football stadium and then air strike it?
They really didn’t need a speaker they already were leading a horde of death angels. I say maybe they could survive a normal air strike cause they literally survive the destruction of their planet.
They literally are using them to lure them to the opposite side of the island so people can escape by boat. lol So it's nuts that they didn't lure them into traps.
The military should just be able to hover over the city with Apache gunships and pick off the Death Angels one by one with Hellfire missiles. The fact that they have literal plot armor that makes them invulnerable to every weapon conceived of by humans is something I just can't get past. If they were somehow smart enough to hide, or capable of using projectile weapons of their own, I might be able to get more into the world.

The military would rather divert a large number to a containment zone and then gas or bomb it, and they would do it from far away, using satellite imagery and cruise missile or drone
How can helicopters get off the helipad in the first place? Won’t the alien attack any operating vehicle? I think only aircraft carrier would have safe operating areas. Other than that air base would have been first target for the alien. Turning on jet or helicopter from air force base would instantly attracted the alien.
this scene takes place by day 2 or 3 i think, so its likely that they simply took off from a AFB before it got overran, that or there was some aircraft carriers off the coast.

Let's go back to the scene where the helicopters were flown so that they were diverted to a more distant place where the Death Angel could not reach the noise of people, footsteps, other noises that could be chased a few meters away. Instead, to make it easier to rescue the victims. But the helicopters shouldn't stay like bees, and shouldn't use loud speakers so the Death Angels keep coming back, then a lot of people died because they all ran, shouting in fear of what they saw. Then those who didn't know that the helicopter loud speaker told them not to make noise while in the shelter during the first incident last night. Back to what happened: Then while Sam was under the car, a man could only say "please", he was still clinging to Sam's leg and he was still making noise, Sam even said "Shh!" to the begging man, and the scene that follows. The movie is good. Had me at the edge of my seat, hand in mouth and quiet as a mouse for their sake. But they really held back the on-screen carnage in this one.
So they knew they hunted by sound on day 1 and never used sonic weapons that are used for crowd control? That would have killed them by the thousands. Also the sound of explosions and fighter jets literally ruptures human eardrums. They would be severely hurt by it. Also where is the navy? Super carriers can go for years at sea, and there are island bases all over the world. This movie series is pretty dumb. Not to mention, nuclear weapons vaporize anything in the impact zone, in desperation you can use them to kill large concentrations of them, lure them with sound to certain areas and nuke them.

This movie makes no sense. .50s would rip through those things, or napalm, or gas and chemical attacks, or sound! Plus these things defy biological logic. The faster you are, the less armour you have. Cheetahs are a perfect example of this
The most you see is a random soldier get snatched away by one of the monsters, after checking her radio because a soldier yelled over the radio something like “They’re everywhere!”. After that all we really see is the airforce blow up the bridges in order to trap the monsters, the helicopters flying over, and the ships pulling into port. Oh and theres a scene where one character walks past several destroyed army trucks, and 2 destroyed tanks. (The first tank is to his right, the second is in the background just past his left shoulder.)

A quiet place would be a good TV show that’s shows the behind the scenes of what the government did and how they figured it all out.
First Quiet Place movie show total society collapse. Government collapsed. Alien won
did the government figure out anything? A Quiet Place is set a year or two after the outbreak and there is no sign of functioning authority
