This contract thing with Alonso is funny IMHO.. I would tell Mets this.. I will do the 3/90M deal I think was in the table? Basically say hey.. What metrics do u want from me? 35hrs I get X more bonus, 40hrs I get Y etc.. OBP above. 370 I get X... Less than X strikeouts I get Y... Create a base with Incentives.. My goodness
Awesome. I was worried because I saw reports about the Cubs and Braves being in on Stanek without mention of the Mets. I think this is a great addition. And, assuming health, I think the bullpen is going to be a real strength.
I believe that a great pickup piece in our own, I also believe our bullpen is greater then last season. We looking right , it just that…… one piece ! , go get polar bear n still get vladdy next year and we will win this title
I always like a hard throwing option... however, I am VERY concerned with the fact that if he doesn't strike somebody out, he will either walk the player, or get hit hard!!!
@@oscargonza2748 That's not true at all!!!!! The only truth is if barrel up a 98 MPH it will have a higher velocity than barreling up a 92 MPH pitch... However, It is not easy to barrel up such a hard pitch unless it is flat, which Stanek's fastball is... That is why such a hard throwing pitcher in only a mediocre pitcher, and very inconsistent...

Really doubt Mets are adding any more to the BP. They'll be going to a 6 man rotation so that leaves you with just a 7 man pen and only 1 of the projected 7 (Garrett) has any options left. So any adds would be NRI type guys on MiLB deals
I HIGHLY doubt the Mets sign Alonso. Just read that the Mets will be paying 110% tax on Stanek's contract. HIGHLY doubt the Mets want to spend 110% tax on any Alonso contract. Makes zero sense. As for Stanek, very happy for "this reunion". Mets have a strong bullpen for sure.
Mets can move on from Alonso.. Stearns is doing the right thing.. Our prospects aren't getting any younger and should be given a chance to play whether to increase their trade value or to have them become starters.. At 24+ years of age, they should be mature enough to be given a chance..
