    PS/2, serial & parallel ports are provided because these machines are intended for professional use and as such might find their way into legacy industrial environments - when you've invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in infrastructure, you don't want to be crippled by new equipment which doesn't mate with it. Picture an environment with a $5K KVM solution which only supports PS/2 connectors, or a professional print shop where the $200K+ lithographic cutter doesn't support USB.

    The PS2 connector comes in handy with older keyboards but why would you want one? Well, one answer is that with PS2, all keys pressed at the same time will register - no need to buy an expensive NKRO keyboard. So anyone who uses multiple key presses at the some time in 'steno-like' fashion is probably going to opt for a PS2 keyboard. Sometimes old tech has the drop on new tech for special (exotic) applications like this one.

      hello, do you recommend this machine? I am seeing some reviews says it's slow. I also do not want a machine that is loud, is it quiet? Please let me know your opinions. Thank you

      You need a small graphics card, look up low-profile graphics cards and get something with 4-6 vram. Anything with gtx or RTX you'll want anything lower is just not good

    • @AshtonGodbout
      @AshtonGodbout Год назад

      I would suggest a low profile gtx 10 series with 6GB vram

      it is pcie but only accept SFF graphic card.. one more problem is the PSU,, not suitable.

    • @MMSZoli
      @MMSZoli 6 лет назад +2

      I have a little older Lenovo with weaker PSU, and it can use PCI-E VGA card.
      But due to size it may accept only Low Profile (LP) video cards, and I think this is the same here.
      I have to tell, this M700 dektop design is much better than mine.
      In my Lenovo only single slot VGA can be installed (no thick fan is supoorted, as there is a HDD bracket inside in the center), while in this M700 you can install any thick VGA, high fan design.
      I currently use (since years) a Radeon HD6570, and though everyone is now in 4K, it can well manage 1280x1024 resolution in 3D games, or van play easily HD videos. But with my native monitor resolution 1600x1200 mots of the game's setting had to be reduced (I am not an action game fan, but UT3 or the older Far Crys works very well with high settings and only C2D CPU, but not the latest ones). I really like my PC, as it has no noise very silent, sill fast enough for my daily stuff, internet, some programming, gaming (strategies, SC2, Heartstone, Minecraft, etc)
      Just because some of the newer strategy games have higher requirements n the GPU (eg. Heroes7), I just bought yesterday a new VGA card, an Nvidia 1030 low profile. This is one of the strongest Low profile card with single slot fan size, and only 20W power requirement (VS my old Radeon 37W). This is 3x faster GPU than my Radeon HD6570, and that was still OK for some gaming.
      I can grant you, that ANY Lenovo SFF PSU can easily support 20 or 40W for the GPU, as they are typically 240W, and the motherboards, CPU, DVD (?) and SSD together (even with i7 CPU) will not require more than 100 -110 W. So there is a a margin there, though the 85% PSU efficiency means that you may loose close to 40W on the PSU itself. Thill a 60-70W GPU can be installed without major concerns.
      So those 800-1000W PSU beasts are required for dual GPU setup with very strong i7 CPUs, more HDDs and SSDs, lighting big fans and so on. This is the

      It will run something like Runescape or Minecraft or something simple like that but it won’t run more advanced games at very good frame rates but you’ll be able to play smaller games the biggest game you can probably handle is Roblox or Minecraft or something like that with good frames other than that you’ll be getting really low frame rate unless you upgrade

      It is not s gaming PC, but with a low profile VGA some limited gamins is possible, eg most of the Blizzard titles will run very smoothly on it.
