You are making such fantastic progress. The banter back-and-forth is hilarious 😂 You are the definition of teamwork. I can't wait to see what comes next! Thanks for letting us come along.
Jeremy and Melissa, you are a Inspiration to all, what you have accomplished so far is Amazing! I love your Family So much, and seeing you react with your Children is so special... only if all Parents could treat their Children like you do, this world would be a so much better Place.
Sure loved the gable roofed barn growing up. Milking parlor on one end. Four horse stalls, tack room, feed sack room, etc in the middle. Sheep pens on the other end. Upper floor over all was the hay loft. Loved to build hay forts! You can use a portable conveyor to lift the bails up. We also had a hay hoist with grapples on one end. Large double doors. Beware, we kids jumped down from those double doors when the adults were in the house.
Ours had 36 dairy milking stalls in half. Newborn calves, young cattle in other. Hay in loft one side first cut hay ( usually grass). Other side was 2nd cutting ( usually alfalfa). When 1st cut got gone aways we would put straw bales in there too.
It is so exciting to see the rooms taking shape. It's wonderful to see the humor with which you a Jeremy tackle each project. It's heartwarming to see your kiddos be goofy and real and oh, so adorable❤️❤️❤️ Can't wait for the next step🌈 And, yes, aren't we all yearning for spring 💚😎...but beware, March, the cruelest month, is still to come...😫🤬🥶😬😵💫 Stay safe, be well and see ya next time👋👋👋
I remember growing up in North Idaho and when I was a kid every year when February came around with it's warmer days Mom would remind us that it was going to get cold again. She was always right!
I built a pole barn that is 30’ wide x 36’ long. I have two 12 x 15 stalls on one end, a tack room, a hydrant, storage for shavings, equipment and 400 bales of hay.
You two are doing great and bring joy into our lives. As an old guy still living on the farm I've learned a few things about animals, feeding , barns, and hay. Back in the '60s we learned don't waste energy moving bales up by hand if avoidable. The bales on the top of the hay wagon go on top of the hay stack and the last ones go on the bottom. When designing your barn make sure that you have it big enough to get the the hay wagon ( or whatever you have) into the building. You don't want to park outside and pack it in. Think about getting the "used hay" out of the stalls. Set them up so that you can get the tractor in to scoop it out, better yet push out the other side. The more you can mechanize the handling of feed and cleaning the better of you are. Those kids will soon be gone and with them the helping hands. In 10 years you guys are going to be 20 years older and the strength and energy will not be what you have today. Another thing about animal barns is that you want to have people/equipment/feed side and on the other side is the animal side open to the outside. That way the people side stays free of mud, used hay, and other mess. The more you try to have both on each side the messier things get. lg
Great advise. If you fail to plan now,, you are planning to fail in the future. Designing things now to work smarter...not harder...will go a long way and pay big dividends...both now and in the years to come!
Your videos never disappoint! The house is beginning to look more like a home with all the drywall going up. An inspiration to everyone! Stay well and be safe! 💗💗
You're right. The fun stuff is soon to come! I'm looking forward to it all as well. I absolutely adore seeing y'all accomplish your dreams and I'm so grateful to be able to share in the process! And, Jeremy, I like the little red barn too. You know that little door up top? That's where you load hay. So it's not as bad as you think. Traditionally you'd hang a wench system outside the door, but with your fancy tractor you could just slide it in there with the forks. 😉
I totally understood what you were saying and I'm not trying to be the spelling police but I think you meant winch instead of wench. My mind instantly went to work designing a harness of some kind where you hang a wench to load your hay and the thought of it makes me laugh.
Thank you for being there. I'm getting where I NEED these videos! 🥰 We love you guys. That mt. is my focal point. Love the laughter.😄 Love Kiera's outfits.
As with all your videos, I reminisce on my own family memories…building projects…horse barn buildings, and all the small memories that come with long term efforts. Your family reminds me that this country still gives her faithful people wondrous freedoms…there are still families out there that share the values that made this country. Thank you Father God for this awesome family.
Melissa, I’m 71 years old and Love Love Love ❤️ your Jeremy. He is so darn handsome without his beard or with the one like he has now. Of course there is a but❗️And that is how he makes you smile while working together. That is rare, you are a lucky 🍀 lady. So I think it’s fair to say I love ❤️ you too❗️And who couldn’t love your kids. They are great. And I cannot wait to see the finished product. What a beautiful sight looking from your new home to the mountains. Absolutely gorgeous❗️Y’all will be so proud of this homestead. And Melissa you amaze me how tiny you are and can do so much. Hugs from Mississippi.
A house for horses -- sweet! Would love to see your family get some alpacas (and perhaps a couple of llamas or anatolian shepherds to guard your herd animals, too.) They're so lovely and sweet and their wool is absolutely the best! More videos of the animals would be great, too.
You guys really have made fantastic progress! We're very happy watching all of you projects and your family time together! Plus, that mountain scenery behind your property never, ever gets old! It's incredibly beautiful!
You guys never disappoint with your video skills! You take the (lots) of extra time moving that camera and getting those awesome views and keeping the scene moving. Definitely makes for a great watch!
I am amazed at how much you have accomplished in such a short amount of time. I am equally amazed that you Melissa, can carry those huge drywall sheets, they are heavy! Have you ever thought of making a calendar, your sunrise and sunsets, cat loving on the dog, the horses, the sheep and so much more, would make an amazing calendar.
In honor of Valentine's Day .... Does anyone else ever notice how Melissa quietly helps Jeremy carry things and left things? It's sweet because I think he struggles everyday with back issues and everyday he soldiers on to build a beautiful home for his family. Melissa always has fuel -- snack belt choice of the day. It is so beautiful see your love for each other bouncing off the world. Strong, loving family. I also like to see you build stuff and banter about. 💞 It's a wonderful message, thank you for sharing. You lift my spirit and I'm so grateful. God Bless.
Wow! You are right! Last year, there was just a hole in the ground!!! Thank you so much for sharing your journey with me. I love to see you work together. Thank you for everything.
Barn was cute, but definitely want bigger. Will need at least 4 stalls for when you get more horses. =) I've now finished binge watching you build tiny home and forever home and am caught up to current. It's great seeing it come together.
What an amazing accomplishment! In building your own home you two have achieved something most people would not even attempt. You should be so proud of yourselves. Thank God you did not listen to the naysayers. What excellent role models you are for your children! You have shown them that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. They will go forward in life understanding that the only limits are those they put upon themselves. What a blessing!
You have the most precious house!! It’s made with love by you guys. Blood sweat and tears, have formed the foundation of your home for your beautiful family. Any progress is progress, I understand being stuck in the middle of it, my mum used to sing to me “ one day at a time, sweet Jesus “ although I didn’t know the meaning of that yet at such a young age, I know now! You are building this alone, just you guys, a labour of love ❤️ So it will get done when it’s finally done. The good weather is just around the corner. You’ll be asking for air condition soon lol 😂 My best wishes, prayers and love go out to you all, in an uncertain world you are marking your territory. Good luck. 🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏
The scene with Linda rubbing on your dog was so cute 🥰 I can't wait to see what u guys have planned for the inside finishing. I was confused to see you looking at barns. Can't Jeremy keep the tractor in the pole barn? Either way I can't wait to see where you guys go next.
I think they were mainly looking for ideas on how to build their own custom barn. If you don't see other barns inside and out it would be hard to visualize what you should include.
The thing that I am most excited about, is the fact that you built this house yourselves. When it is finished, you will make it your home. You have come a long way. Built from the ground up, built from scratch. Can't wait to see it finished. Love you all.
"Will 'screw the field'" I learned a new term. You, your family, your enduring energy is such a stellar role model for me. And, Melissa, I love your choice of music!
I appreciated your comment that when you are in the middle of a somewhat tedious project, it seems like it will take forever. It seems like it takes me forever to set up my loom so that I can weave and it DOES, like 3/4 of the entire time, to get the project to the point of what most people see as actual weaving (putting the shuttle back and forth). But I like the challenge and the order I must create to get the pattern right and I like the cloth that comes off of the loom, so I do it.
We can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with too. It’s all been so wonderful. Very happy for you two & your darling family that your dream is getting closer by the day.
I had some ideas for a railing for up on your loft without blocking the view, i seen some California homes have glass railings on their decks, and is really nice looking
Thank you for sharing! Your progress is heartening. Another plus is with all the other stuff going on in Canada and potentially serious conflict with former allies. You are focused on building your dream. Raising your children to be self sufficient, aware of the responsibilities of their future and being productive citizens of high moral standards. Much respect from Santa Chuck🎅🏼❤️
I'm with you on Spring being cold and late these last couple of years. I won't believe Spring is truly here until I hear the red-winged blackbirds trilling in the reeds. And the peepers singing in the swamp.
You have done so well, the kids rooms look great with the closets done as well, You have a wonderful working relationship with so much banter even when you are squashed into a corner by the drywall or sitting down in the sunny spot, the boys and girls are a real treasure, I love the way they all play together
I'm like Melissa; always cold until it gets to 70 degrees. Living in New Hampshire that temperature is not consistent until June. Jeremy and Melissa make each other laugh -- the basis of a great relationship. And it so much fun to listen to. On another note -- Melissa is getting super good at editing the video and her choice of music.
I'm a Good Simple Living addict for sure. Who needs "reality TV when you can see awesome people doing awesome things to make a better life? Thank you for this channel.
Every video is fantastic, the filming and editing exceptional. The views are phenomenal. I love hanging out with you guys and look forward to each video, I'm happy to put my tent up next to the barn lol
11:28 that view with the mountains in the background is surreal.. you guys are gonna have such an awesome setup once the house is done...imagine waking up to that everyday...you are blessed. Keep up the good work!
I love watching you two work on the house. The guy who built the house I bought and am living in was the city's building inspector, so he just did whatever he wanted. Most of it is fine, but I am not sure he knew what either a square or level was for, so he didn't use them. I was talking to a local preacher once when he found I had bought the place, and he said he helped build it. However, I also learned when talking to a neighbor (old retired guy) who said he poured the foundation on the place. You got to love the community spirit involved here! Anyway, he said the foundation was pour onto rock, so I may be on a hill in a place with a lot of landslides, but I'm (my home and everything in it) not going anywhere. I've done lots of remodeling and repair over the years, and it just means I have to make a lot of adjustments because nothing is square, level or plumb. But it is solid. The view is wonderful. The neighbors are great. What's not to love?
I want to live my life eventually like them, a piece of land with a big garage and build my dream house as well! I live in the city for awhile and it’s just too much sometimes
The dry wall is the treat. Mudding joints and screw heads is pure torture. If you can afford it, sub it out and save your sanity! You guys are doing a great job! Better people than me. Thanks for sharing as always
The house is coming along very nicely…and you all make it look fun, even though there are times that it’s anything except fun! God bless you and your family. I can’t wait to see it totally completed!
Oh my! The progress you’re both making is astounding. It’s good to see all the rooms with plasterboard on the walls now. It’s all starting to take shape nicely. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next week. Until then, stay healthy, stay safe and live to you all from across the pond 🇬🇧💕
It looks beautiful, even it's drywall! To those under construction, drywall is a huge step towards done LOL 🤣😂 Keep up the good work! Y'all are amazing 😍
Just seeing the smiles on your children's faces they know and appreciate your efforts doing there rooms and you know the love they have for you beautiful parents it really show's the way they look at you both it's so amazing to watch, I just want to congratulate you both on how you have raised these beautiful soul's your doing an amazing job 🥰❤️
I am totally holding you guys accountable! My wife and I have a new addiction after last week's video! COFFEE CRISP! Oh my gosh they are so good. It's really all Jeremy's fault. He brought them out!!!!
I really like how good you make me feel after I watch your videos. Jeremy, the skills you have acquired since starting your tiny home now have a professional component to them. Melissa, your narrative at the end of each video is not only thought provoking but, turns up memories.
Totally agree with you, Melissa! Anything below 70 and I have a jacket on. Below 60 and I have a coat and a hoodie on. The Army 50 years ago taught me to hate being cold! I do not like temperature extremes but if I have a choice I'll take high heat over low cold. Being a "motorhead/gearhead fix-it" guy I know what extreme cold does to equipment, cars/trucks and buildings. Heat is much easier to manage! 😉👍
What a great shot of the cat and the dog, love it! Also love to see the progress with the dry walls. As for the barn…the one you were looking at wouldn’t fit in with the surroundings of your homestead.
It's so exciting to see it all coming together and y'all are having so much fun doing it. Catch you on the next guys. Melissa as always love your ending!!!!
I bet them all sharing one room made them so much closer your babies always look so happy and I. Love how they are always willing to help each other you guys are making them into amazing humans
You: let’s get going Jeremy: 2 days (every time)😂🤣😂🤣 wait another build Omg I can’t stand how adorable and motivating u guys are just beautiful scoot over my son n I are moving in lol 😂
Thank you for sharing your dreams with me! Love your beautiful mountains! You are doing a good job raising your children! God bless y’all abundantly and stay safe and healthy!
You are making such fantastic progress. The banter back-and-forth is hilarious 😂 You are the definition of teamwork. I can't wait to see what comes next! Thanks for letting us come along.
Thank you Nancy 😊 💓
You guys have the most beautiful property ❤️. That mountain in the background always adds the perfect backdrop. 🥰
The Rocky mountains are always inspiring. 😊
❤️
The view is amazing 👏 😍
Watching you two build a lifeseems that each episode isn't enough at the end just wanting more
❤️😍
I am always cold too ...I wear Cuddle Duds and Under Armoire TOGETHER! And I now am warm! TRY IT!
Jeremy and Melissa, you are a Inspiration to all, what you have accomplished so far is Amazing! I love your Family So much, and seeing you react with your Children is so special... only if all Parents could treat their Children like you do, this world would be a so much better Place.

Not to steal your thunder but my favorite part of this video was your dog and cat rubbing & loving on each other. It melted my heart. ❤

Why March the cruelist month?
@@imeldago3884 Because March teases you with beautiful weather one day and terrible weather the next day and because it is so windy.
Thanks for ur reply
It make me so happy see you laughing when you work together. It give me hope in a brand new world where we will laughing enormously!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
For all your scrap Sheetrock, let it get wet and then till it into your garden. It makes a great soil enhancer, especially if your soil is acidic 😁

@@fillg You never know. The wench might be stronger than the winch. LOL
Who can go to bed if there is a new video not me lol 01:10am here in South Africa ❤👋
Jeremy.....for someone who has never put up sheetrock before, you are doing a great job!
Yes he is other than breaking the joints over windows
Thank you for being there. I'm getting where I NEED these videos! 🥰 We love you guys. That mt. is my focal point. Love the laughter.😄 Love Kiera's outfits.

It is wonderful to see how the children keep themself busy while you are working. Making good progress.
A house for horses -- sweet! Would love to see your family get some alpacas (and perhaps a couple of llamas or anatolian shepherds to guard your herd animals, too.) They're so lovely and sweet and their wool is absolutely the best! More videos of the animals would be great, too.
The two of you are working like a “ professional team” 😍. I can’t believe it’s been 2 yrs 😳. A lot has been accomplished!!! 👵🏻👩🌾❣️

You guys have a great cat, love seeing it rubbing on everyone including your old doggie sweet creature
All that work and no snacks, the rooms are coming together so fast now great job you two. xoxo
The little red bard is beautiful 😍😍😍😍

It always makes me happy to watch you all, like overabundance of love and being the “dream team.”
Your family has come so far. I love the barn. It’s nice. I can’t wait for the living room kitchen to be dry walled. Those high ceilings won’t be fun.
It’s crazy how drywall changes everything,, you start to picture where you want certain things. So Exciting ❣️
I really like how good you make me feel after I watch your videos. Jeremy, the skills you have acquired since starting your tiny home now have a professional component to them. Melissa, your narrative at the end of each video is not only thought provoking but, turns up memories.
It's Jeremy
@@candidastelloh931 Dang spellchecker! Thanks, I should have proof read it before posting!
I was just looking to find a new video! Surprise! Yay!!
❤️
You two crack me up 😂! It’s really coming together nicely. One more room done ❤️. Stay warm!
Amazing , watching From Canada 🇨🇦💝💝
What a great shot of the cat and the dog, love it!
Also love to see the progress with the dry walls. As for the barn…the one you were looking at wouldn’t fit in with the surroundings of your homestead.
