I'm most pleased that finally a vampire in this series actually transformed into a monster and equally pissed that it took 6 years for them to finallly do it. Like come on Netflix, was that really hard to do with Dracula back then?

Unlwss you mean in the classic tittles where Simon smacks the head out of Dracula's neck and what remains release the incarnation of the curse of men. Because then when you kill Dracula, you still have to deal with the incarnation of evil that unleashes to this world.
I mean thematically, Dracula transforming into a monster kinda takes away from his tragedy because he's not a monster he's human his love for his son and death would lose it's impact if he turned into a monster.

The monster olrox turned into is called a coatl; a feathered serpent.
technically in the games dracula never turned into any monsters which is why they kept with the same idea in the tv series
