- I almost went back to back at LA regionals with top 8 finishes ahhhhhh(went x-2 round 10)... but it is ok! it is a HERO's resolve to become a champion :D
Here is my top 16 deck profile for Los Angeles Regionals, December 9th, 2023. Wanted to get this out to you guys ASAP!

For those who wonder which combo he means by Fusion Destiny is DPE + Trinity + Draw 2/Discard 1: Fusion Destiny for DPE using Denier and Mali. Mali Eff, Denier Eff (put back Mali for follow up or Dark Angle/Plasma to draw if needed), Into Cross Crusader, Cross Crusader 1.Eff target one D-Hero, Cross Crusader 2. Eff tribute the D-Hero and search Faris, Faris normal summon using Cross Crusader, Faris Eff set Increase, Increase Eff target faris and on summon Eff special Vyon. Vyon 1.Eff dump Shadow Mist, Shadow Mist Eff search Liquid, Vyon 2.Eff banish Faris search Poly, Poly with Vyon (Field) + Increase (Field) + Liquid (Hand) into Trinity. Eff Liquid to draw 2 discard 1.

When the judges were saying la regionals are the hardest cuz they are a mini ycs it put a lot into perspective

I would love to see some replays to learn how to play this floodgate version. How do you go into Bagooska for example? If you start AHL and go for Stratos, do you search Shadow Mist/Vyon/Liquid or do you alws attend to do the Faris line and make Bagooska with Stratos and Vyon? If you do the Faris line, your Gozen/Rivalry conflicts with your Bagooska, as you would probalby leave Bagooska and send all the other heros. How do you win from this point? Especially as Gozen/Rivalry stop a few combos. I would love a video about the Gozen/Rivalry/Bagooska topic. Love your videos and wish you only the best!
You bring up a good video topic. I’ll probably make a 101 defensive plays video topic on my decklists in the future when I get some spare time. But long story short bagoo turns ahl into a defensive card if they droll or shifter you, cuz those always happen on that card or before. So I’m anticipation you search those cards. The gozen is more if it hurts your opponent more logic OR if you already combo or if you need to buy time. It’s a card you definitely have to know when to play it cuz I’ve definitely locked my self into stratos before against vanquish and just got burned to death. If you open a bagooska play and a flood you only flip the flood if the bagoo gets stopped or over ran somehow, think if it as layered interruption(bagoo and if it doesn’t work flood)You don’t wanna just flip floods in this build you want to use them defensively when you need time or you get stopped
@@XmasHERO Thank you so much for your reply. I would love to learn your way of Heros but there is a lot to learn, because I'm barely playing competetively for a year now. So let's say you only got bricks and floodgates in hand: Would you rather scoop or try to survive and play through your own floods? And do you always search for a second lvl 4 Hero with Stratos so you can go into bagooska? I already tried your build on locals and I failed hard but I think it has so much potential. Maybe as I get better at the combos and the game in general. Really looking forward for your interaction video!
@@ParadomeReloded the floods are also there to help buy you time to help you unbrick. You have to assess the matchup and see if it’s even effective if not you scoop, these are matchup questions and you need to know which flood hurts what and where. For example rivalry sucks against unchained but good against fire kings. Gozen great against unchained but sucks against fire kings. You scoop when the flood won’t buy you time or you can’t survive in order to prevent yourself from going to time but you have to know the matchup and when you can win in order to do so correctly!
I don’t always search a level four it depends on the hand.but if I already have faris and stratos that’s when I may search a mist especially in g2 or 3

Just a quick question though, with siding super poly, against RACE and Infernoble, have you considered Gilti-Gearfried the Magical Steel Knight? it may only be a niche target but you can always use one of your own heroes if your opp stops Stratos for example.
When I was testing super poly that’s one of the targets I was using! However I didn’t like the extra deck slots being used up since it is tight and didn’t feel it was worth it due to super poly being lackluster vs unchained. But gliti was my favorite target since everyone is making SP and we play warriors ;)

In a format like this where you usually need at least 2ht to stop the meta you play board breakers and floodgates, these are unexpected for sure! i will try to cut my ht and play floodgates like you, will see how it work :) thks for sharing your decklist and thoughs, keep it up!

Hmmm I could but tbh hero is a very situation based deck most of the time! So it is hard to explain but I could attempt to when I start playing again! 😄

Thoughts on Ash and Imperm?
I like to use a small Evil HERO package just to get Bane out but I’ve had a good run playing a bigger package with Bane, Dark Gaia, and Inferno. Bane is plays extremely well with DPE as a monster zone breaker while being indestructible for DPE effect

An xtra hero vision monster where it’s a link 1 any level four or lower hero. When summoned take 1000 lp, for the rest of your turn your opponent cannot respond to the summon of hero monsters ;)

Do you go to Dark Angel primarily under Rivalry since you main both, or are have you been not that worried about the link 1s in some common matchups?
Pretty much I let my opening hand/ way my combo is going decide if I want to dark angel or not with if I draw floods or have enough where even if they link I’m ok. If my combo is getting interrupted at weird parts I adjust! Dark angel was very good for me. Last round is where I technically got “punished” by him going link kuriboh under gozen, and then super polying me, buuuut I still won that game because of the favorite line, just ended up losing the match 🙃 the more I think about it though it wasn’t a real punish cuz without da it makes his super poly easier to do instead of him going that extra step

One thing that keeps popping up for me is the need for Destiny Hero Dangerous. It keeps coming up and the times I have replaced it for a different Extra Deck card, I notice Dangerous would be perfect to keep extending. Thoughts on Dangerous?
I like dangerous and played him when I got 2nd place at the last regional! I only cut him because trinity kept popping up for me!

Can you explain to me how good Rivalry and Gozen were? Because NOBODY uses them, much less main, and you still get great results. How did they do in the tournament?
They are amazing and great defensive plays for when you get stopped! For example someone nibbed me going into wonder driver after poly search so I set up a favorite contact play, and set rivalry, flipped rivalry, he was forced to pass, and then I killed him with snw plus monster next turn. And another time I bricked g3 with double rivalry against fire kings but the rivalry literally bought me extra turns to win the game cuz they could not kill me or make big plays

What's the combo to get DBE and Trinity all out in one stroke?
Fd. Go Mali then bring out denier/put back Mali.Go crusader tribute denier to add faris. Faris tribute crusader. Faris effect all the way to vyon, dump mist. Mist add liquid. And you should have increase,vyon, dpe, liquid in hand with a poly and still a Mali banish!!!! That’s 3 heros + Mali in grave to make trinity for a draw two with liquid and dpe on field
How did Dark Angel in main feel against SP Little Knight?
Just pop his first summon with dpe. And the second with shining

@@XmasHERO Great to hear! I was seeing some other Hero players cut DA due to SP and putting it in the side and while I understood the basic reasons. It felt a little off, and after seeing your results, it seems like it’s not the play to cut it after-all 👍
Yeah to each their own! But I like it alot because it still streamlines their options while cutting off things like imperm, evenly, super poly, lstorm!the only troublesome thing is the whole link kuriboh stuff but that’s what floods help with too
where is ash?
Ash has the potential to interrupt but rarely shuts down your opponent's turn unless they draw bad.

Yes ash is a good card however I don’t want to lose advantage off ash and my opponent still keeps going, so I’d rather try to play cards that take out multiple cards/resources!
I don't understand how do you win if you lose the dice how do you brake the boards with floodgates in your hand? And how are lava golem and spheres working when you have only 9 cards in your deck that can SS and 3 of them are faris who needs another hero in deck? What were your matchups?
So basically floods break boards because gozen and rivalry requires you to send monsters to control one type. So sometimes instead of comboing and burning everything to get Omni negated sometimes it is better to just set book flood or double flood or droplet flood. For example tearlament(a very popular deck). Tearlament if they don’t set up an Omni negate gets their whole board cracked by a rivalry flip.if they do not end baronne or cryme, you bait those out then proceed to flip rivalry.they can’t kill you and they are usually stuck with one monster. Unchained. If they go their normal board you bait out the escape if they have it, set gozen, and they are usually stuck. Daruma cannon is great for things like this too.
A lot of my utility cards are super good going second, especially droplets, books the talent cards and like I already mentioned floods in conjunction with another flood or utility card.
My matchups were as follows:
Firekings x2
Tearlaments x2
Floo
Super heavy
Unchained
Race x3
All meta except super heavy, but don’t sleep in him he was x-0 r5 and I only beat him cuz I did the floodgate philosophy of setting gozen rivalry to not only break his board, but survive getting calamity locked after getting omegad then killing next turn! The dude was undefeated r5 for a reason!
Went 5/10 for die rolls (50%)
Also hero engine is really really strong to play through boards.
Lava golem and sphere are good because like you said we have 9 special summon starters however I also max out in the floodgates. opening floodgate plus sphere or lava golem breaks boards and ensures you survive for t3 by locking them in. So you have 15 cards to open with the 5 board breaks not just 9. Hero tests when to combo and when to not, it’s not always about comboing t1

If you want a live demonstration on ways to play through interuptions I have my feature match at nats uploaded as well in my channel! It doesn’t show off the floods but I went second both games and won through interrupts by dodging things, and sequencing cards correctly!
