Small history lesson:
MTV asked Jay-Z who he wanted to collaborate with and he said Linkin Park. Everyone were surprised and probably never thought these two would compliment each other almost perfectly. They not only made this EP but also preformed the whole album in front of their mutual fans.
If this wasn't enough they won a Grammy for Numb/encore. They signed out in a glorious way as they end their journey with one last live collaboration with a legend from The Beatles on the Grammys' stage. "Yesterday" was the song that got mashed up with the already perfect Numb/Encore.

We truly had it really good back then. Those sure were the days. I wish we'd still get music like this.
Crazy how this really got so many bad reviews when it came out, but it was so well put together that if you didn't already know the origional songs then you'd think that these were originals and not mashups! It's a classic EP that pushed boundaries.
I was 12 when I heard some of the tracks in this album and thought this shit is lit.
Fast forward to today, I'm almost 30 and this album just aged like fine wine.

Its so crazy. I'm 30 and I feel the same. I can't believe I hated this and just couldnt appreciate it. The numb/encore is one of my favorite songs of all time now. Just so well done.

💯💯💯💯 it's my favorite. At the time Linkin Park & Jay-Z were my 2 favorite artists... When this came out, I was sooo freakin excited to hear it. My bf at time bought me the CD(back in day, lol) the first day it came out & I fell in love with how good it was. Numb/Encore is not the same if I listen to just the single of each without it being joined together. 😂❤️❤️ So sad & unfortunate Chester is not longer with us!! RIP Chester!!❤️❤️

Yeah this was before mashups were pretty easy. This was phenomenal I was 14 when hybrid theory was released. Collision course is one of my faves so I couldn't agree more.
I had this cd AND dvd. I was probably like 13 and must have watched and listened to this hundreds of times. Both were in their prime.

Nostalgia to when I had Minutes To Midnight and Collision Course on my CD player. Always will be legendary
I heard this album before any Linkin Park so I forever have Jay’s flow ingrained into my head with these songs.
I remember hearing numb/encore on the radio for the first time and a few days later i bought this album. It was unbelievable and havent heard anything else like it.
I remember I actually bought this album and everyone around me said it was sh*t.
I was like nahh, this is lit but you won’t know it’s greatness until it’s older.

I remember when this came out almost 20 years ago. I had just got to Germany which was my second duty station. Was a great time in my youth with some amazing friends.

I remember being in high school and Linkin Park being my favorite rock group, and Jay Z being my favorite rapper. When I found out this album was coming out I was in disbelief and hyped beyond belief all at once. This is probably my favorite LP album outside of Reanimation which is still in my opinion, their best work.
Of the best ep/albums and and of the best hip hop/rock collaborations. R.I.P. Chester. Definitely top 5 in Jay’s discography

Cool album! I believe that Linkin Park and Jay-Z had put a lot of effort on this album, but I just can't seem to appreciate it just yet.
Even though in my opinion its not a great album but I still respect the people that made it, because it's never easy to make a good song or a good album. I still like Lying from you/Dirt off your shoulder and Numb/Encore but ones like Big pimpin'/Papercut or Izzo/In the end is just not really my thing. BIG thanks to Soldier 500! You really put on some really good stuff on RUclips, I hope you can do more songs and albums. Hope you get to a million subs!
