Northern Japan may be nice in Summer, but August in particular is pretty unbearable across the rest of the country! My activity schedule clearly indicates my preference - Team Aimee! Winter is pretty good too with mostly clear blue skies in Dec & Jan (in Kanto at least)
Although I love the greenest green of the rice paddies in summer, my favourite season is autumn. The varying yellows, oranges, browns and reds are just sublime. Thank you for sharing!
Autumn ! Japan just magic ,thanks. My daughter and I are Hitting Osaka in January working our way up to hiking the Nakasendo trail (same one you did) to various castle places and see snow monkeys, up to Kasatsu Onsen then Mt Fuji eventually ending up in the snow at Hokkaido to meet up with my other snowbunny daughter wrestling the bears. Will we find our way on the trail in the snow or will we need a rescue personal locator beacon if we turn left instead of right.
When I was young, I loved going for a drive from Tokyo to the Yatsugatake area. I usually went in the summer, but I remember the larch trees being beautiful in the fall. Thank you for the video of the autumn leaves this time. I enjoyed it.
