The league isnt structured to rely on attendance alone, the ratings and tv money is what kept the league around during it's hub fase and still will. If they average 10k a game they will be off to a good start. If they average more they will talk about adding teams.
Agree. People expect it to be similar to the NFL, but it's not. It's not designed like that at all. Just as an example, if the average NFL player makes $1m a year, with the top players making $50m. In the UFL the average salary is about $60k for six months work, and the league MVP with bonuses might clear $80k. It's just a different league entirely. I think people should compare UFL attendance to things like mid-week daytime MLB games, or mid-week NHL game. If the UFL can get close to 20,000 on average in 2025 or later, that puts it even with MLS, also many MLB, NHL and NBA games. Some NCAA football teams like Temple, Villanova, Butler, etc. hover around 15,000, with many tickets paid for in bulk or blocks by alumni and/or given to students. Thinking the UFL needs to be like the NFL and fill stadiums with 50,000 fans and top weekly TV ratings is an irrational comparison.
