No question there are simply a lot more mistakes on both sides than in the NFL. Different experience watching, but still exciting, and great effort. I hope UFL succeeds.
Please let the UFL survive. I’m really digging this league so far. I’m just waiting for the teams to start building some chemistry. This is a little sloppier than the NFL but more traditional than the XFL. A well done hybrid. I honestly feel this can rival the CFL honestly and allow a great development stage between college and the NFL. It’s like the NFL’s version of the NBA’s G-League. Here for it. Maybe eventually we can get to 16 teams. I can really see this lasting for a long time.
That's what I see the UFL as when I watch these games, the NFL's version of the NBA G- league. This is a great stage for fringe players to continue playing and developing and for players on the NFL practice teams to get to show what they can do.
@@DDDiegoI’m not trying to argue, but you get what I’m saying….the mls stadium is perfect everywhere outside of St. Louis… you can’t deny what a crowd does for football …the mega stadiums are too big for now anyway, it’s a great product so far but all those empty seats kills the vibe
@@humanipulationnation yes but the league has been bad with the marketing this season. If they actually put in some effort to advertise the team through billboards, visits to schools, stores, etc. than there would’ve been better turnouts especially in Memphis. They gotta get rid of the Arlington model because the lack of local support from teams other than DC and St Louis is widely concerning
@@DDDiegoyeah, look at 5:30 of the Birmingham game at Detroit highlights. The Panthers score a 75 yard amazing TD and you think Lambeau Leap but NOBODY is there, it killed a home run moment for the new league and there have been great football moments so far as a whole
The games have been good if they can get some type of college game day feel, not the feel of an empty Meineke Mufflers Bowl. The product this time around is good I think, it needs to feel like a “big game” more, it’s like watching a Tampa bay devil rays game compared to Fenway park
I really thought houston was going to escape dc with a win but it didn't happen. That one hand catch by dc's tight end #18 has to be the catch of the year.
@@JslowbroI'd agree with Raleigh. But I think teams with pro soccer stadiums are the way to go. 20-30,000 seat stadiums instead of 60,000 plus stadiums is a better idea, imo.
@theroachden6195 you're right unless you can somehow get Carter- Finley to agree to a deal without a bunch of bs. But it would be cool to hopefully field a winning team😭🤣
i took to calling our other pro football outfit the “cardiac commanders” after they started off 2-0 this past fall… the nickname got retired later that year for obvious reasons, but maybe it’ll make a comeback in the next season or two
You know whats funny. Greg Williams did the same thing as the Jets Defensive Coordinator against the Raiders at the end game. Not putting people back to defend the endzone and insisted on mancoverage. Almost blew it again. What a clown
I'm rooting for the UFL big time. It's something about these cats hustle that's just genuine and it's legit good football. Now I just need expansion and hopefully a Florida team will be on the horizon
The coaching staff for the defenders should be knocked upside the head for that time management and play calling towards the end.. why would they call timeout when that's exactly what Houston needed? Then you run the ball three straight times when backed up on your own goal line? Why are they playing man coverage on the last play of the game when Houston had one chance to throw the ball to the end zone? They were one step away from catching that pass and scoring!
Said it last week and I'll say it this week. That is not the Houston Roughnecks. That is the Houston Gamblers wearing Roughneck gear. DC, you on fraud watch. That should have been a convincing W. Congrats on the win and may the beer snake be ever long.
I’m gonna watch my stallions play them in Birmingham. I’m from Georgia, and I ain’t forget what Gregg Williams has done in New Orleans. Ain’t no bountygate here.
It's Week 2. This is what football looks like with no preseason games. All the games have been a bit sloppy, but I expect all the teams to improve as the season moves into Weeks 3 and 4. If DC's Offense is still struggling by Week 4, then I'll start worrying.
Glad Defenders got the W! Entertaining as always. Glad to see Audi jumping again ... Still waiting for a clean game in all three phases. Offense still looks disjointed (Ta'amu and the WRs are still developing chemistry), but it looks like the running game is starting to click, and the TEs are making an impact. The play calling was much improved. Overall, the Defenders' D was the MVP of this game. They brought the juice!
there were at least two or three turnovers in this game which would have made me call bs and rage quit in Madden. 😂 That whole first series and punt block, the instant INT pick 6 and that near touchdown run after catch where the ball got knocked out and caught by the defense b4 even hitting the ground. I would have been livid.
Simply not true. He had a solid game. The last TD pass was beautiful. The 2 pt conversion after was also thrown well. The TD early to the TE was a great throw put where only the receiver can make a play on it. He’s a little rusty, but is playing fairly well and leads the league in yards.
Defenders receivers are all new. Their RBs are new and untested. I'm reserving judgment until Week 4. But I do think the Defenders' defense is WAY better than 2023. It's striking actually. They put several dudes out of the game. Arlington will have its hands full with the Defenders.
#58 for DC on that interception a 1:34 looks like he couldn't make the tackle so he tried taking out the opponent #58 in the process! The commentator made a comment about it on the replay!
is there a 4 point play in unaware of or does the DC coach not know that being up 4 and being up 5 late is the same thing? in 2 weeks I've seen too many instances of teams not understanding how to use the 1,2,3 point after system
Luckily HOU broke down near the end but my Defenders aren't playing up to par. Gotta step up, that title should have been ours last year! Beat Arlington!!!
Roughnecks are extremely undisciplined. Bad coaching to the extent that players do not know common rules on special teams. Still a fun watch, just goes to show the gap from Semi-Pro to Pro.
Its kinda weird seeing former nfl players pop up.. Coutee was just in league a year or so ago iirc.. ruben foster is in this league as well (and still getting injured)? I also remember Deandre baker who got arrested with Quentin Dunbar from the Seahawks...Wow
After a couple of games, you start to see why these guys aren't NFL material. Poor ball handling, TE unable to locate the football, poor decision making by both quarterbacks and an offensive lineman who got rightfully called out for not attempting a tackle. Still an entertaining league though.
It was Gardner's Pursuit that put him in the right place at the right time.. don't undercut that fact Mr announcer Also baker was practicing great pursuit....... even though he was never going to catch him he kept chasing him and then by a twist of fate the ball fell in his hands
St Louis and DC has the best fans. Wish every stadium could be packed like those 2 stadiums
San Antonio next week should be packed.
@@rouvencocker Let's hope so
not every city has spite for the NFL.
it's because there are a lot of football fans and neither city has an NFL team
Its because the stadium is cohesive

More people=bigger beer snake.
People are too stubborn to do fun things nowadays, they'd rather stay home and do nothing. I would go to a game but no teams around my area
Now let’s not act like this was the Michigan Game. There were a hell of a lot of people at DC. The Beer Snake was in full effect.
15k is a fine number
@@NotoriousDLT Yeah. DC can only house 20,000 fans. So 15K Plus is amazing

All of the UFL games have been great. I’d love to see a few more teams added next season.

Also don't forget about former NFLers who still wanna play. The UFL also allows older players to leave the game on their own terms, unlike the NFL.
Those 3 false starts and the fumble of the ball by the Roughneck receiver running for TD were the differences of the game.
The UFL should try their best to get into MLS stadiums wherever possible. 20,000 fans looks a lot better when they aren't in an 80,000 seat venue.
I said the same thing. It would add a sense of urgency and give a different game day feel.
This just shows how TOO BIG the old Liberty Bowl, Ford Field, Choctaw Stadium etc. This makes such a better feel to watch than empty seats
