Great lineup Geoff! I would like to see more malternative reviews from you. As for holiday pours, I had an Arran 1987 Sherry cask (36 yr), a Glengoyne Teapot Dram Batch 10, a SMWS AnCnoc 29 yr Cask Strength, and 1987 release of Austin Nichols Wild Turkey 101. Happy Holidays!
I treated myself to a Craigellachie 13 for my birthday after listening to you, Ralfy and Roy rave about it for a couple of years now, and it holds up to that praise. Have also been enjoying Kilkerran Heavily Peated, Bunnahabhain 12 CS and Cotswold Single Malt.
Great lists for Christmas, thanks, and keep up the good work. my personal humble picks for Christmas 2024: Springbank 10; Benromach 12 vintage; Bunna 12 cask strength; Killerran 16; tamdhu 18; ancnoc 24.
What an absolutely epic night! Everything on the list was incredible - I personally would put the Arran 21 slightly higher up, but really these were all great. I even managed to drink something that was actually older than I am, which is wild to even think about. 😅 Thanks again for hosting such a memorable event! Can't wait to see how we manage to top this one in 2025. 🥃
My holiday lineup: Port Charlotte 18, Kilkerran 16, Laphroaig 10 CS batch 16, Kilchoman Loch Gorm, Deanston Virgin Oak, Campbeltown Loch. I got a bottle of Kilchoman Sanaig CS for Christmas that I haven't opened yet 🥃
Received a bottle of Clynelish 14 for Christmas. I didn't realise how spicy it is. Also, finished my bottle of Bruichladdich Laddie 8. I would like to see you do more malternative reviews. I don't just stick to Scotch whisky, and it is good to see reviews on other spirits. Cheers!
I would love to see you do some different reviews of things that you fine interesting such as Bourbons, Cognacs, Armagnac, etc. Would love it if you could review the Stagg you showed in this video. Keep it up!
When it comes to armagnac, the year on the bottle referred to the year of distillation (millésime). It has not aged in oak cask since that year. After a certain time in oak, the armagnac is put in big glassware in cave (Paradis) and use for blend or millésime. Same idea for cognac, that's why you can have hundred years old cognac.
I have no mates and no money. Drank Balblair 12 and Tobermory 12 over Christmas. The most I have ever spent is £96 for a Glen Scotia 18, yet to be sampled. I intend to toast the New Year with their Victoriana.
I've had little alcohol (tawny port, some red wine) and no good whisky since the week before Thanksgiving. I got sick... 3x's in a row and currently still getting over the last bout of sickness. So, go me. On the other hand, I walked into my favorite mom and pop just today and lo and behold, there sat a bottle of 2013 Longmorn 16yr 48% in the greyish dark brown box for $116. So, go me.
Very nice holiday line up. Great to see a dutch independent bottle in your list. They bottle a lot of good stuff at 46% or caskstrength. Have a great new year. Btw...and i agree that it is your channel, so if you want to review malternatives, do so. My 2 cents, it will teach your palate/tastebuds even more.
I don't know all the bottles, specially the bourbon and other fancy stuff, and of course the talisker that I have yet to try. But other than this I completely agreed with your ranking. One that I would put way lower is the bruichladdich 18. I have to give it another go! The bunnahabhain brandy 2004 is one of my favorite too! I bought 4 bottles of this beautiful whisky (at auction) . All the black art are just magnificent! Always a banger. Happy that you like the longmorn 18 😉. Great bottle! I wish you already a happy new year! Cheers
Currently drinking a Glengoyne 10 Spirit of Time first fill edition. Neck pour was disappointing at first, but once past the neck and getting some air into the liquid it’s a banger 👍🏻 At the moment I’ve got a Yellow spot, Filey Bay IPA & Glen Scotia on the go along side the Glengoyne. All very different tastes but all a lovely dram. Happy New Year to you All.
So 3 great whiskeys I had this Christmas was Middlewest Pumpernickel Rye, Peerless Double Oaked Bourbon and Compass Box-Orchard Box Blended Single Malt Scotch
Hi Geoff, indeed a great list. More than Christmas worthy. Somehow I seemed to have missed the invite for your party, otherwise I would have joined 😁. As said I am going through my samples of Glenglassaugh and Scapa over the last days.
Sipping Longmorn 18 yo at 48%, which I think is a lovely dram. Would absolutely like a review of the new cask strength edition or even more so a comparison! Wish you all the best for the new year
Hi Geoff, thats some list, awesome. Only got the AnConc 24 out of your list. For Christmas, didn’t really have much whisky ( my family are mainly beer drinkers) but enjoyed a penderyn masala finished, Islay mist blended scotch and Redbreast 15. The Ultimate do some pretty good bottlings they get my vote in the category best IB in the oswa’s every year. Slàinte Geoff.
My Xmas choice was the "Fat Highlander," which I understand was marketed in GB as "Fat Haggis." SMWS cask No 78.72, 58.7 ABV. An oily, dense, Highland that claims a "Haggis tang" (a bit overstated) but delicious. Ex-bourbon hagshed, then Ex-sherry cask and you'd love the balance between the heavy distillate and strong casking. Happy New Year!
I’m loving the fact that you’re getting into Bourbons BTW! I’ve made the move several months ago. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get my hands on those “allocated” ones you’ve featured on this video! I for one, would love 💗 to see some bourbons being reviewed on this channel! #LFG
Loved your video and what a coincidence I have every single one of those bottles lol actually the only thing I have close is I just bought a daftmill 15 year-old I look forward to opening it. I had a sample of it. It was delicious.
For me it’s been the Redbreast 12. I’ve drunk a few others that were more expensive but this and Uigeadail would be in that level for me for 2024 ! I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎉
I think a list of bourbons for scotch drinkers would be great - some whisky people just prefer the stand-out notes of bourbon rather than the subtleties of scotch.
I don’t think I’ve had any of those but I am drinking the oban 10 yr special release and loving it..i would even say top 3 I’ve had all yr…first oban I’ve ever had and not the last
My Christmas dram was a flyte of redbreast lustau mixed with kilchomann madeira cask and a few drops of water. Had some Loch Gorm 2024 as well, but my flyte was way better!
Thanks Geoff. I’ve just sold my house and ordered two bottles each. For those who don’t have a house to sell I suggest this Recommendation. Signatory Vintage 100 proof Caol Ila 9 years old bottled 2015.
My Christmas dram was finishing off the 2019 Kilkerran 8yr with my Dad. Also, if you did 90% scotch and 10% malternatives that would be perfect in my opinion. Thats the same ratio I have in my collection 😅
Interesting list, Geoff. Thanks for sharing. Personally I'm not interested in burp-on, but with your regular cheap approach of clicks over quality I get it when you leave my opinion for what it is (what's new?). And for the record, I skipped the Xmas festivities (as usual), so only regular special stuff for me. Slàinte mhath
Slowly catching up during the holiday travels. This was one of your best videos I would say! Fun and really enjoyable even if the whiskyes are out of my price range hehe so 🎩 off As for the Bourbons I think it can work but - You do 2 video a week and since I presume you don't have time for a 3rd one I don't wish to give up those 2 a week for a Bourbon. Sorry, Bourbon folks. But I think a "Bourbon of the month" could be a fair compromise, in my opinion. What do you think? This holiday, I had a limited availability- you know the reasons behind it😀 But I did try the Powers Three Swallow for the first time and for what it is it's an amazing whiskey! Especially for 29 euro a bottle in Hungary lol Cheers Buddy and Happy New Year in advance 🎉🥃🥃
Oooo, I would love to try the Arran 21. I didn’t know they had anything older than the delicious and affordable Arran 18. As for Stagg - the biggest disappointment for me, but maybe that was just a bad batch.
You're a funny guy Geoff. Edgy jokes, good timing, -but that priest bit, a whole new realm. Only the darkest of us chuckled for a long time. Good thing you're already in the adult section. Otherwise, a fabled list. Bruichladdich 18 is one I'm mulling over. Had a strange tasting encounter with it, but I'm sure your point about spending time particularly pertinent. And Wiser's 27 CS is something I can get for a good price -almost budget friendly! , is that a no-brainer?
Ah, Let me see: Hazelburn 15yrs, Royal Brackla 18yrs, Power’s 12, Redbreast Lustau, Strathisla 40yrs and Benrinnes 1998 G&M. Oh, my Infinity bottle, a blend of over 60 malts and 4 grains😃
I wish I had a group of collaborative single malt-loving friends to get together for a night such as this list generated! The handful of friends in my circle who enjoy single malts just enjoy drinking mine. That gets old. Regarding malternative content: I get a sense of your taste due to the sheer amount of your content I've watched, so I am curious to see what you think of non-scotch offerings, but might not click on a review/list lacking at least some scotch content. Be well, happy New Year, and keep doing what you're doing! Cheers, -Randall
Regarding the bourbon question, it's your channel and your thoughts on a bottle. Never let anybody talk you down from sharing those thoughts if you want to do so. Also, merry christmas.
“friends” 👍 Edit had to add - “stick to Scotch reviews it’s what you’re good at” - WHO told you that , very misleading. Don’t listen to such tomfoolery. More seriously best YT reviewer for me by a mile 👍🥃 bring on 2025
went to the three biggest "whisky bars" in town and picked through their sea of trash like a seagull searching for anything palatable. did find a few new ones to try, oban de, bruichladdich laddy, craigellachie13, glenfarclas12. problem now is, there's literally nothing else on their shelf i havn't had already or ever want. even met with an owner for 15 minutes trying to politely inform him his stash was shii, problem is successful millionaires think their shii dont stink.
Are you sure? I bought a bottle that was released in Sweden right before christmas (only 180 bottles I think) but I have not checked the batch number on it...
Happy Holidays!

van Wees (the ultimate) is my favorite independent bottler of all time. Never had a bad bottle from them.
Agreed!
Great lists for Christmas, thanks, and keep up the good work. my personal humble picks for Christmas 2024: Springbank 10; Benromach 12 vintage; Bunna 12 cask strength; Killerran 16; tamdhu 18; ancnoc 24.

That’s a real connoisseur’s selection!
@simonstock2526 Thank you, sir! I'm still relatively early in my whisky journey. 3-4 years
Received a bottle of Clynelish 14 for Christmas. I didn't realise how spicy it is. Also, finished my bottle of Bruichladdich Laddie 8. I would like to see you do more malternative reviews. I don't just stick to Scotch whisky, and it is good to see reviews on other spirits. Cheers!
I was able to grab myself a Benriach Smoky 10 for Christmas and am currently thoroughly enjoying it.
Wow! That priest joke was something else, even for you. Well done, well done
I would love to see you do some different reviews of things that you fine interesting such as Bourbons, Cognacs, Armagnac, etc. Would love it if you could review the Stagg you showed in this video. Keep it up!

Christmas 2024 Drams: Ardbeg 10, Laphroaig PX Cask Travellers Exclusive, Port Charlotte 10 & The Botanist Gin. Cheers!
My Christmas whisky with some whiskyfriends were: Bushmills 30y, Bunnahabhain 30, Laphroaig 8y handfilled fino and a lot of other stuff😋😊
Took a couple of glasses with a few good friends christmasday of my Springbank 21, fantastic Whisky 😃
Of course you should do more bourbon! We love it too!
I have no mates and no money. Drank Balblair 12 and Tobermory 12 over Christmas. The most I have ever spent is £96 for a Glen Scotia 18, yet to be sampled. I intend to toast the New Year with their Victoriana.

Me too... hope you are feeling better. A small glass of red wine on christmas day other than that nothing at all. Should be good for new years 🎉
I like you enjoy all whiskeys so I would enjoy your reviews of Bourbon and Ryes
Love the malternative reviews. Thanks!
That Bruichladdich Black Art 10.1 was much better than the 11.1 in my opinion. Great bottle to celebrate the season with. Great list buddy 🥃
Kamiki Sakura, Glenmorangie quinta ruban and Paul john bold were the ones that amplified my senses these holidays. Wish you a good year!🎉

Yes in the malternatives. Life's too short to not explore a bit.
Currently drinking a Glengoyne 10 Spirit of Time first fill edition.
Neck pour was disappointing at first, but once past the neck and getting some air into the liquid it’s a banger 👍🏻
At the moment I’ve got a Yellow spot, Filey Bay IPA & Glen Scotia on the go along side the Glengoyne.

You should definatly do a bourbon list (styles, cask strenght, value, etc). Thanks for the great content and merry christmas!
So 3 great whiskeys I had this Christmas was Middlewest Pumpernickel Rye, Peerless Double Oaked Bourbon and Compass Box-Orchard Box Blended Single Malt Scotch
I enjoyed a Christmas dram of Port Charlotte 10 with family and friends. Thanks for the introduction to that one, G-Whisky!
It’s my favourite since visiting the distillery two years ago
Damn, man. You still look at bit lit. Glad you had fun though.
Maybe zooted ❄️😂
Hi Geoff, indeed a great list. More than Christmas worthy.
Somehow I seemed to have missed the invite for your party, otherwise I would have joined 😁.
As said I am going through my samples of Glenglassaugh and Scapa over the last days.
Santa brought me a bottle of Meikle Tòir The Original. Wonderful! 🎅🏻🥃
Gordon Macphail Caol ila 2002, anCnoc 24, Glenallachie 12 and Mackmyra DNA small batch. It was a very good whisky christmas!
Sipping Longmorn 18 yo at 48%, which I think is a lovely dram. Would absolutely like a review of the new cask strength edition or even more so a comparison!
Wish you all the best for the new year

At my place we had Kilchoman Log Gorm, Springbank 10 (2011 bottle), Ardbeg Uigeadail, Glenlivet 18 (2016 bottle) and Michel Couvreur Overaged
Loved your video and what a coincidence I have every single one of those bottles lol actually the only thing I have close is I just bought a daftmill 15 year-old I look forward to opening it. I had a sample of it. It was delicious.

Got myself Ardbeg 5 just for the new years, keeping it simple but yummy 😊
xmas dram is Glenfarclas 15
Laphroaig Càirdeas 2024 has been the go to pour this month. Need to find another bottle..
Thanks Geoff. I’ve just sold my house and ordered two bottles each. For those who don’t have a house to sell I suggest this Recommendation. Signatory Vintage 100 proof Caol Ila 9 years old bottled 2015.
Great range Signatory 100% - recently bought a Ben Nevis maybe 9 yrs not opened yet

No spring chicken 😳 🚫 🐔
... The priest
Yeaaa... Bruh went a little to far for a joke! 😂😂😂
Talk about everything. I'm a scotch curious bourbon bro.
I actually have that Wiser's 23 yr as well as a Wiser's 22 year Port finished, both cask strength.
Ledaig 10 also £30 excellent value
I was drinking John Walker & Sons Celebratory blend on Christmas, nothing too special but very enjoyable
Ancoc 24 is 12 holy crap looking forward to the rest of the list then
Goldcock peated, Port Charlotte 10, Port Charlotte 21 (IB), Staoisha 10 (IB) and Yoichi Single malt good stuff
Ah, Let me see: Hazelburn 15yrs, Royal Brackla 18yrs, Power’s 12, Redbreast Lustau, Strathisla 40yrs and Benrinnes 1998 G&M. Oh, my Infinity bottle, a blend of over 60 malts and 4 grains😃

Blantons Gold are available in Sweden for 100USD but it is not for me though😬
I was financially irresponsible and ordered a Black Art 10.1 for 410 euros. The last time I saw it, it was 560 pounds so had to snag it.
Preesent to myself..ArranThe Bodega
Did you just slip in a super controversial Catholic joke in there!? Wow! 😂
I’m sorry you were violated by your priest 😂😂😂
Yup, these are all whiskeys that I would definitely drink if I had richer friends.
If I had better friends I’d definitely consider letting them have one 😂
Sounds like we went to the same church.
Regarding the bourbon question, it's your channel and your thoughts on a bottle. Never let anybody talk you down from sharing those thoughts if you want to do so. Also, merry christmas.

What ever happened to the Arran 14?
went to the three biggest "whisky bars" in town and picked through their sea of trash like a seagull searching for anything palatable. did find a few new ones to try, oban de, bruichladdich laddy, craigellachie13, glenfarclas12. problem now is, there's literally nothing else on their shelf i havn't had already or ever want. even met with an owner for 15 minutes trying to politely inform him his stash was shii, problem is successful millionaires think their shii dont stink.
New ones: Signatory 100% proof 16yr old Craigellachie - stunner. Cadenheads Warehouse Sample 7yr old Orkney….
Clicks will now be denied.
Ancnoc 24 is discontinued from what i’ve heard
Are you sure? I bought a bottle that was released in Sweden right before christmas (only 180 bottles I think) but I have not checked the batch number on it...
Also swedish, i talked with Tomp(importer) and they said it were discontinued..
They are releasing a 16, 43% in Sweden(950kr) in January, im guessing they are doing a new lineup
Damn, too bad! One of my favorites… Question is if one should save this one longer then if it’s one of the last batches.
Interesting, will have to get that one eventually! But have a few others on the list to get before that. 😊
Sorry, but Linkwood 30 YO is better than this number 1.
In your opinion😉! It’s a matter of personal smell and taste.
@davidb2701 That's right. 👍
@@jakubhaska3707if you mean the Linkwood 30 years 1974? You are right! It is a phenomenal whisky!
