She thought he was being cute when he said "I am the principals office". Little did she know.

Loved the character. There were things about her that I didn't necessarily like, but that's what makes her a complex, nuanced and above all real character. She was flawed, yes - but her flaws would vary depending on who you asked, just as any person's would - the point is that she remained internally consistent and an absolutely perfect foil for Josh. She was the equal Donna could never be until she got away from him and forged her own path. Plus, whatever her whackadoo politics, Mary-Louise Parker is charming beyond my ability to resist.

her character certainly put her ideology ahead of politics--if she were a man, we'd label it "driven". she was the woman who "wanted to jump josh every time he says that" but still wouldn't kiss his ass. Just as you said, she was the most equal to Josh's own driveness to serve the president.

I wonder how that happened, seeing as Sorkin said in an interview he did not watch TWW after he left. Maybe leftover material from him that the writers used.

She played a whackjob the same as she played in Weeds. I'm beginning to wonder if she isn't acting at all and this is just her normal bat-shit crazy self. The reality is Amy was a condescending dolt and the President needed to flog her. It was all about her Beliefs

What a nice way of winning in my own example of reality. If you are, im presenting this case of fighting in the clase to you. If we get to a good conclusion there wont be any reason to close or destroy the school.

@@LiamHaHaX Josh's aggression and arrogance was somewhat mitigated by frequently making him and his attitude the butt of...like...half the jokes in the show and he screws up all the time. Hell, the very first episode is about how he made an ass of himself and is on the verge of losing his job.
If Amy had a comeuppance as hilarious as Josh's attempt at a press briefing...maybe I would have liked her more, yeah.
