It's a TAS only trick. I'm mean you can do it. You just need to hit a subpixel perfect spot on a block, then turn left and jump the frame you enter the block. It's pretty much all luck based.
It requires very precise commands AND your subpixel value should be correct for clipping into the walls. There is a video that explains it along with how the SMB1 World Record was achieved. It is on a channel called Bismuth.
As you barely get enough coins to complete the level, as you only have 1 life and are forced to die in the 3rd stages, so you must accumulate coins to get extra lives.
