They played it in 2005 (it's on RUclips) and it is polished but still oozes rawness. I dare say it's better than this - however - I prefer this because it's 1967 and it belongs there. Imagine hearing this back then. Fffar out. You'd be blown away wouldn't you?

Look up earthless, el Perro, all them witches, kikagaku moyo, amplified heat, white dog, radio Moscow… so many more I can’t think of. There are plenty of young bands forging the way of heavy psych still. They’re just not promoted and given tons of money and publicity like the 60s and 70s. People refuse the find good music unless it’s bashed over their heads by corporations.

I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RUclips. 😀

Ginger is so good! I mean obviously the whole band is but neither Eric or Jack have stood the test of time like Ginger IMO (and I’m a guitarist). I grew up idolizing Clapton, Page, Hendrix and SRV. And for various reasons (maybe cause I can play their stuff) well I can’t play Stevie like Stevie but nobody can, but I’ve fallen in and out of love with these guys over the years. But Ginger is still top 5 easily. I’d put him higher personally but just so as not not get into a fight in the comments section of RUclips I’ll say top 5.

What is particularly great about Cream's love versions of Spoonful is that all three instruments are soling in a way that enhances each other without stepping on each other. Baker and Bruce came from a jazz background, and you can hear that here.

"live versions". But maybe "love versions" is appropriate too!

On the goodbye cream tour live 1968 album theres a 17 minute version that is damn close to this one

@@jacobcousins4234The one at the forum is 17 minutes, and you're right it's amazing also. I did find this one on Live Cream volume III. They have another one from 1967 in Detroit that they play for 20 minutes on that's also pretty great

@@johnandrews2768 I think theres a vinyl called "Revolution Club (Live '68)", that was released relatively recently, but it might just be digital and CD, I don't know. But, there is indeed a vinyl with the same name, but with '67, instead of '68. I havent had the chance to listen to it, but it contains the exact three songs from '68. It might be the same, with changed dates for some reason, but again, not totally sure.

@@betobolt9212 I've seen pictures of the cover but I've never been able to actually find that album, as far as I can tell it's the same set, I think they have the year wrong on one of them. I did find this version along with the other songs from this set on Live Cream volume III, it was a fairly recent release also

    RIP. Jackie,
Finer was phenomenal on drums, but Jack was THE ‘groove’ background of Cream and this track emphasises my point, I think (modestly).
Saw Jack in 2008/9 with his ‘usual 3-man combo’ set up @ Shepherd’s Bush - seeing Jack Bruce perform had been a long time wish of mine since I was around 13 years old (we are fellow Glaswegians after all) and ‘What A blast!’ literally because this little man could project his voice , having a very good understanding of projecting sound / acoustics.
    Again, RIP, JAB.
    With all my love,
    JaneR

cream and the stones credited dixon while led zeppelin stole outright his tunes - "whole lotta love" is his "you need love" - so leading him to suing them (successfully). willie dixon- ass kicker!
