Camerawoman had no problem with Clapton. Footage was filmed by Janet Bruce, Jack's wife with her personal camera. And noted in early days, Clapton was camera shy...especially on his hands while playing

Super to be able to see these takes. But, much like the video of their finale show at Albert Hall, you never really get many, or any shots of Eric playing guitar. It's almost as though they intentionally went out of their way to avoid showing him playing. However, if you're a fan of looking up Jack's nose, your in clover !
There are a lot more shots of Eric Clapton on the Sunshine Of Your Love vid taken at this same performance. That take in itself is really cool because it's got an extended solo section where Eric is really ripping into it. All on his bridge pickup, too. Well worth checking out.

My guess it he didn't want pick breakage, and also he may have been striving for the most volume he could get. I've never seen any info on what picks Clapton used.... guessing they were thick celluloid or maybe nylon Herco? RE: High frets: there's a Yardbirds clip where they've playing on British television, doing Louise, and Clapton is playing way up there on the Telecaster. You can see a lot of the fingering in that clip.
jack is doing just as good vocally AND on bass as eric is on guitar he deserves all the shots of him singing. no other bass player was doing this at the time as good as jack. not one.
Spoonful has always been Jack's vehicle. He takes the band to another dimension with his counterpoint on this track. Will never forget the jaw dropping experience hearing this for the first time on Wheels of Fire. Headphones, CD, school library. My life was never the same after that.
Ive got a nice black epiphone SG ..its my favorite guitar ...i found this looking for inspiration and tones i can emulate on the SG ...and I absolutely love this band ...bonamasa has brought the beno cream era to a new genaration ...i spend hoars listening to theas videos od clapton and his SG and les paul era ..love it !

Ginger is so good! I mean obviously the whole band is but neither Eric or Jack have stood the test of time like Ginger IMO (and I’m a guitarist). I grew up idolizing Clapton, Page, Hendrix and SRV. And for various reasons (maybe cause I can play their stuff) well I can’t play Stevie like Stevie but nobody can, but I’ve fallen in and out of love with these guys over the years. But Ginger is still top 5 easily. I’d put him higher personally but just so as not not get into a fight in the comments section of RUclips I’ll say top 5.

What is particularly great about Cream's love versions of Spoonful is that all three instruments are soling in a way that enhances each other without stepping on each other. Baker and Bruce came from a jazz background, and you can hear that here.

It might be the same, with changed dates for some reason, but again, not totally sure.

Saw Jack in 2008/9 with his ‘usual 3-man combo’ set up @ Shepherd’s Bush - seeing Jack Bruce perform had been a long time wish of mine since I was around 13 years old (we are fellow Glaswegians after all) and ‘What A blast!’ literally because this little man could project his voice , having a very good understanding of projecting sound / acoustics.
