I immediately noticed the railing around the booth has a sloped top. Where I used to work had a flat top and it was a dumping ground. Especially bad when drinks are perched there right above the mixer. Smart design.
I always enjoy these walkthroughs. The only thing I feel is missing is a price rundown at the end. Doesn't have to be elaborate but a total cost would be so helpful to churches who are considering upgrades and need a ballpark price for discussion purposes. Many see this equipment and think "that's so out of reach for us". Maybe it is...or maybe they'd be surprised. A basic "the lighting package was about $____ and the audio upgrades totaled around $____ with the sequencing system adding $_____ to the cost" or whatever. And "reach out to us" isn't a helpful answer as many feel that is more commitment than they are ready for to do that. [I'm not saying you all have or would just say "reach out" but just in general.]
I was just thinking exactly this. I am a worship pastor in Minnesota, and have been considering applying to have Churchfront help us with a renovation, but I can't find any info on the cost for this kind of stuff, which makes it hard to make a proposal to the powers that be, haha.
Hey Liam, if you reach out we can provide some ballpark numbers on what it would take to get your project done. Once you engage in our design process then we hone in on a precise proposal. So I would still get on a call with Erik on our team and he will walk you through the process and I (Jake) can get you some ball park numbers if you send us some photos of your space.
In my opinion (and we all know how fun opinions can be) this is the value of a consultant. It's much less commitment to pay someone a small amount to help you define your long-term technical goals and who can walk with you through the process of defining your needs and desires so that you can understand how much you can expect those goals to cost. Often, you end up using that process to either find additional money to commit to those goals or you have solid information to adjust your goals to match your budget.
I'd just like to say how grateful I am that ye always have chapter markers on these videos which is getting more common now. It's only when I come across long videos from other channels on RUclips without chapters that I realise what a blessing they are
@churchfront Thank you for all you great content. It continues to be an inspiration. Can you point to any resource (videos or other channels) that have similar tech tours but for much smaller churches with 50 or so members? Thanks again and God bless your ministries.
Does church front come and do installs because I know that my church is in need of some updated equipment. also what is a website that I can go to, so I can sign up for it?
I like the tech updates. Coming from an IT guy you should get managed switches and not run network cables directly into the switch. Add a patch panel and then short patch cables to switch. Unifi is a nice option for switches that won't break the bank and even have added Dante priority options in the latest update.
Any chance you guys would be willing/interested in putting a list together for these upgrades that show the notable gear with links in case there’s an item that helps another church in these videos?
Good video. Thank you very much for this informative insight. How did you manage to have the Mac Minis boot automatically? So far, I haven't been able to find a reliable solution to this issue.
Hey, I thought those speaker bracket looked cool, how much load can they take? Can you tell me what model & make they are, maybe provide a link for them?
Can you guys tell us where you got the rack mounted LED lights that sit in the top of your rack for seeing the front of the gear?!?!?! Best one I’ve seen without having to run strip lights.
For those KVMs, do you need to run them over a dedicated network cable or can you send them through a switch at all? I'd love to incorporate something like that into our current system but we don't really have the ability to run new cables due to poor design of conduit and what not. But we have a pretty extensive wired network that I could utilize.
Hi Jake, I see you're installing alot of SQ5s in these makeovers. Seeing as you personally prefer the Wing, are the SQ5s preferred by your clients? Our church in Zambia, Southern Africa is in the process of upgrading from QU-32 and I suggested the Wing after you recommended it. Any change of mind and preference for the SQ over the Wing?
@@Churchfront Would you make a video speaking on the reasons? If you have made one, what's the title of it? Here in Africa we only have one shot at this - can't easily return a console back for refund or exchange, so we wish to get it right the first time. Thanks.
Love a clean setup. A few questions... There's 3 computers at FOH booth but only 2 KVMs? Why? How did you conceal your cable runs between the racks? I'm assuming it was mostly ethernet runs between racks? Any other type of cabling?
The third screen at front of house is the multiview for the video switcher. Not a computer. We have data video and audio cable, running around various raceways through floors and ceilings
Hello! i would like to use kvm for my church service . Please send me http link to kvm model you can recommend me. And second : if it is a long distance ( 20 meters) between mac mini and monitor keyboard and mouse , how to connect them ? i have long hdmi but have not long usb .please give me advice . Thank you )
Really nice setup for a smaller church! For your live stream audio, are you just running a post-fader FOH mix, or are you doing a separate mix for that?
Relocating computers to the rack is a little pointless in this situation. KVM is overkill when Mac minis are so compact and easy to put onto the desk near the corresponding monitor.
Okay... you call that small as in a small Church, however there are many churches that run 30, 50, only 80 to 100 people. And that's a majority of churches nowadays. What do you do to develop and transition and upgrade for the extremely small congregations?
250 seats is a pretty small church. Still a big budget for such a small church though. I volunteer at a church with 1000 members and we have to really push for a 5k budget to get an actual mixing console and stagebox lmao
"The vibe"????? don't tell me you believe in that word?... bro learn the use of that don't repeat the word just because teens just repeating without knowing... i'm not a hater i'm a Christian but we should be carefull the words we use... i maybe older (38yrs) for this word but i understand the origin of that word and its not a Christian word to use it... but hey feel free to. blessings.

These are awesome Jake! It would be so cool to see/hear before and afters of these installs in service and live stream wise.
This was so cool and fun to be a part of this process!
Great upgrades and room to expand, A. Distrubution is needed! Why not the Behringer Wing!
It’s really amazing Thank you so much Churchfront team🎉
I wish My Church could afford This

You can search our channel for “small church” as we’ve got lots of content in our library.

How can I buy a PCL lightning controller? I like it!
How do you measure the reverb in a room? Can you do a video on how do you do a RT60 measurement.
Awesome build! I have been looking into KVM's, can you post the model of the one you used in this video? Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
Avaccess and the sku is HDEX60-DM
How was the feed run to the mother's nursing room here.... was it just a cat6 cable to a converter near TVs or something similar?
Hey, I thought those speaker bracket looked cool, how much load can they take? Can you tell me what model & make they are, maybe provide a link for them?
They are custom built and rated for 10x the load.
Can you guys tell us where you got the rack mounted LED lights that sit in the top of your rack for seeing the front of the gear?!?!?! Best one I’ve seen without having to run strip lights.
It’s the rack light by Lowell Manufacturing
What software did you guys use to visualise the coverage of the speakers?
I was interested in the speaker choice. I’m not very familiar with fulcrum. Do you all prefer them over QSC? Also what’s the price difference?
The MSRP on these is probably a little over $4K per speaker.
Great impressed
Can you tell more about the kvm
Would be great to have a run down list of items used in the upgrade.

These are point to point KVMs we opt for since it’s simple and less can go wrong. Same company does make kvm over IP that might be worth a shot.

Lately I've personally preferred SQ with Allen & Heath ecosystem over behringer.

What purpose does the Behringer Ultra-DI serve in this rack?
what is the model name or number of AC access KVM switch?

Wow fantastic
So do you guys also travel to other countries to fix sound and video for churches
We can only do install work in the US

Post-fader matrix send
Great setups
Question, what type of Display monitor you have for those MacMinies?
I believe LG 1080p monitors
I'm glad you clarified that you are indeed not the one nursing 🤣
Never know these days
One question: how much?
The e kit in the enclosure loooooooool
Fulcrum PA... 🤤
Relocating computers to the rack is a little pointless in this situation. KVM is overkill when Mac minis are so compact and easy to put onto the desk near the corresponding monitor.
It’s saves about 6 cable runs from FOH to the rack. Plus the computers are stored more securely out of site. Many benefits to the kvm.
Hey Jake, The acoustic panels are what size again in thickness??
2ft wide by 4ft tall by 2in thick.
What’s name of speakers,please?
This is a good upgrade. How did you design and install the tech booth. Also, do you accept request from Africa?
Looking forward to their response to projects in Africa
@@wilsonicw It will be good to have them.
I guess you have knowledge in Audio Networking or Audio Technology that's how you're proficient in these? How can one learn more about these?
Audinate (Dante) has free certification and training. That's a good place to start.
@@steve01010 Thank you.
Does anyone know the KVM make and model?
"welcome to the best house, the foh" haha, nice line, what happened to the long hair dude, haven't seen him in videos lately
He’s been busy working on his own projects. Those videos are coming soon!
Please what software do they use for displaying the chords for the band. Is it the same as what they use for the lyrics?
Propresenter with the multitracks chords feature
@@Churchfront Thank you.
Do they have electric drums in a drum enclosure?
First thing I noticed as well 😂
I'm sure Jesus is impressed.
How much would it cost for a setup like this.
$100k-$120k
“On this unit we skip rack screws for extra lightweight and performance”
Extra screws got cut from the budget.
I noticed a lot of people asking questions but no responses.
trying to determine which 1 item in this video we should buy with our $1k budget, compared to this $75k+ budget 💀
Nice nice

Why two AB168 and not an AR2412 + AB168?
Where is the smoke machine going?
Why does the electric drum kit need to be in an enclosure?
It's more of a stage space issue. The enclosure adds more space to the small stage so they might as well keep it in there.
Jake, you seem to have a background in Information Technology. Is that the case?
RUclips University!

Love what you guys are doing, but your wiring is terribly sloppy. Hire actual installers to install the equipment and you guys come in and commission.
