- Yes, the title of the other video was a pun. Actually, lots of cards beat the GT 710, and some of them are even cheaper than that travesty of a display adapter! If a GT 1030 or Quadro M2000 is just too expensive, and you don't have a PSU that can power an old beast like the R7 260X or GTX 670, consider these economical, low power alternatives.

Well I mean the gt 710 had a misleading ad saying it was 10x faster than Intel graphics (which was not true Intel hd graphics was faster)

I used my gt 710 for when I needed a gui for setting up my Linux Samba server. I now plan to use it for a Windows XP box.

Shoot I just bought a GTX 745 LP instead, fit great in a low profile PC and outperforms the 710 by idk 5x?
Used to have an R7 240 (low profile), I loved that thing. You could move the MSI afterburner OC sliders alllll the way to the left and it would run flawlessly! Too bad i had a power surge one day and it melted the pcb :(

DEFINETLY Gtx 745 4gb vram it has dx12 and can run cyberpunk 2077 at 720p at 30 FPS and GTA v very high 1080p at 50fps I found one for 30dollars It's good for Dell optiplexs with an i5 4590 It runs godly.
Definitely r7 250/260x is more powerful I have r7 260x gdd5 1gb in my system and gigabyte gt710 2gb ddr5 on my shelf :)

DON'T BUY THE R7 250 (Oland or Cape Verde) if you regularly watch Twitch, the playback on Twitch at 1080p60 use a specific codec that saturates the R7 250 to 80% usage! so you can't run more than one playback at the time, which is ridiculous since any other card can manage multiple Twitch playbacks at 1080p60.
I just picked up a bunch of AMD R5 430 cards. They're re-branded RX 8750 chips. Good enough for Linux with the amdpgu driver.
you can even get a GTX 960 if you pay the same as the WX2100
I Tun an r7 260x for gaming. It’s pretty fun. My pc just shuts down when you push it too hard.
Even something like a 9800 GT or an 8800 GT both of wich were released in 2007-2008 are better than the 710 and if one can stretch their budget a bit then you could get an 8800 GTS. There are even some 8800 GTX‘s and 9800 GTX+‘s for 30-50$ on eBay wich can play all games released until 2015-2017 just fine so I don’t understand why anyone would even think about getting something as bad and horrible as a GT 710, the 710 can’t even play games released in its time let alone games from today. Even a mid tier GPU like the 9600 GT wich was released 8 years earlier is better than the 710 and costs 15-30$ on eBay.

Excellent recommendation. I got a Radeon WX4100 (RX 560 equivalent) for about 40$ and couldn´t be happier.
Also, the pro WX4100 seems to have a similar 60$ price tag on the US ebay, and it has 16 CUs instead of 8.
I got a brand new r7 360 for free and was honestly impressed by its performance. If only it had 6 or 8 Gb of vram i honestly feel it would still be a viable contender compared to todays modern GPUs.
Its also my first AMD gpu and i was surprised how easy and user friendly the user interface is when it comes to adjusting settings. Would love to buy a 6800xt or 7800xt in the near future
I have a 2gb GTX 750 in my closet somewhere. That was a decent little gpu back when I used it to play old games. I imagine it's around the performance of a Rx 550. Couldn't use anything slower than that. GT 710s are horrible.
you get a 6 GB GDDR5 GTX1060 for 50 bucks. - may be double of a used 710 but you get 20 Times the performance. the thing can actually run quiet modern Triple A Titles like Red Dead redemption 2 fine on medium to high settings. it will give you much more fun and flexibility especially with even lower fidelity games these days having quiet high system requirements.

go for R7 360 and overclock to 1200mhz (this is what i am using right now) it only draws about 70 w while gaming

I got a rx 6600xt for 50 dollars a few days ago off craigslist i thought it was gonna be a scam but since i was heading to that area i was like why not bring my bench test rig and i always have a power inverter and what i do is connect it to my second battery in my 4 runner which is hooked to my sub in the back and i bring a portable monitor but other than that i pulled up where the dude told me to so then when i told him where i was i setup my bench in the back of my 4 runner and when he came over i was like can i test the card rq and he said sure so i did and i installed drivers quickly and i had furmark to test the card out for any crashes or anything off about the temps but luckily the card worked it was the deal of the year so far i always go out and buy and resell or build something out of cheap stuff and trade or flip them
Here in Canada I can buy gtx 1070 for 70 CAD(50usd) or 1060 for 50(35usd)

the r9 240 and 250 are better cuz they have displayport which means they can output 4k60. they better at super basic video output as well

I have r7 250 its very good its the msi version which has dx 12 support and latest drivers and plays very well its performance same as gtx 650ti
If you go R7 250, make sure to grab GDDR5 one.
R7 250, first graphics card I ever bought brand new, knowing what I know now I really, really kinda regret that I didn’t get a 260X lol. Though I suppose it wasn’t that bad since just a year or two ago at a secondhand electronics shop I bought two more OEM R7 250s for less than half what I paid for my original brand new almost a decade before lol.
Passively cooled GPUs are kinda neat, even if they suck.
Considering R7 250 is actually rebadged HD 7750 from 2012.... Damn, 10 year old GPU still doing fine.
You also can get a rx 460 2gb for around this price its what I bought durring covid and im still using it it can run newer games like cyberpunk at 30 fps if you dont care about quality (also could use the fsr 2.0 mod thats what I did)

I would buy and r7 430 or r7 450 the 430 has 2gb of ddr5 vram and the 450 has 4gb of ddr5 and both are unlocked and you can get them for about 30$.

Well, where I live used gt 710s are around 10-15$ while the r7 250s are around 40$ and there is not a single wx2100.

I had to go with a 1030 with my pc, I was bough a prebuilt gaming pc that didn't even have a gpu, just an amd apu and since the powersupply didn't support 6pin connectors I was forced to get a more expensive gpu along with the ryzen I bought

5670/6670 AND 7750 are decent pickups too. The 7750 likely supports enough DX12 to make it work with mods or otherwise.

Stretch the budget and get a GTX 750 Ti or RX 460 2GB OEM for $45. RX 460 should beat the RX 550/Pro WX 2100 easily. The 750 Ti and RX 460 should be roughly equivalent to each other. The RX 460 has newer driver support though.
The GT 710 isn't meant for gaming or even the average consumer. It is meant for business users that need a few extra monitor ports. Intel chips / motherboards rarely have enough monitor ports for a multi monitor setup. The GT 710 is arguably better than a USB to HDMI dongle.

My psu didn't support 6pin, also needed a gpu to upgrade to ryzen. 1030 served me well throughout covid but its about time it should be replaced

Not worth the money in todays market, but if you already have the parts it should do pretty decent. Don’t expect sli to work as well as it once did

unpopular opinion: the quadro k620, for $17-$30 its definitely a good choice. I have no idea if it's better than the last card you mentioned, but I know it can easily get over 70fps in Fortnite after all the textures load in

Yes, buy it, in fact, if your motherboard has multiple PCIe slots, which it will, you can buy two of them and connect them with two of your hdmi ports on your monitor.
