- The Audi R8 is a fantastic super car. While having daily drivable features, it certainly goes like a super car when you want it to. The Audi R8 highest trim packages come equipped with a monster v10 engine. Capable of producing massive horsepower numbers when twin turbos are added. The Audi R8 also comes with a massive price tag to purchase. Which left us wondering, how much are the parts worth?
Luckily we know just the place to look. Copart salvage auctions. This particular Audi R8 came from the Chicago area with massive amounts of damage. Far too much to consider rebuilding. Nothing wrong with buying a variety of different salvage finds. They are way cheaper than actually buying the car, but many people aren't ready for the journey it takes to get these back to their original state. Me personally, I would buy an old muscle car salvaged, but I definitely would be prepared for the process of putting back together to keep it for myself. 😂

As a eBay motors parts reseller.. always a big inspiration watching you guys! One day I want to upgrade to a warehouse and part out cars of that nature as well.. keep it up fellas and big baller category is interesting to watch
As a retired Dealership Porsche Premier/Audi tech as far back as when Audis were basically junk & the 100LS was top of the line (I was 99% a Porsche tech) so it pains me to say that the R8 V/10 is quicker & faster than ALMOST any 911 or Cayman variant.
I enjoy watching the more exotic builds, but I also enjoy the mid-level builds. I think it’s more your guises personalities in the way you conduct your business. That’s entertaining to me, so keep up the good work. 👏👏👏
I like the more practical cars but don’t mind a fancy one every so often. It’s good to have inventory that outher people don’t have it keeps the shop growing.

Nothing wrong with some high-end cars. Nice break in between the camaro's, corvettes, and jukes 😆.(we do need some more of the smoked series tho). Plus, who doesn't like a nice porche or two. I think y'all have a good variety of car content.

Very interesting seeing the breakdown of a destroyed high end car. I just don't understand how you can hold onto parts for so many years and either have not discounted them or price adjusted based on current market value. Thanks Guys! Eddie
The is what the "dead inventory" category is for. Items that have to be discounted over time, damaged in storage, or literally never sell.

I was teeing up on the back 9 when my phone alerted me to this video, I literally stopped mid stroke and walked off the tee box to watch this! Great video, love the Juke, and I was kidding about golf, golf is terrible.

this is my favorite R8 generation. the R8 v10 plus doesn’t look good to me from the back
Normally aftermarket exhausts say "performance use only" or "for track use only" just legally stating they say its not for street use due to emissions or some state law, buuuutttt they all know what we're doing lol
Not to say the Hell Cat isn’t a nice. But in 2016 I bought a SRT 392. I ordered it and by far it has about everything Dodge could put in it. Basically the same as top of the line 2016 Hell Cat . The car came in Red line red which was only offered for one year. The great thing about this car is it’s fun to drive. It looks like the first day I bought it. I have 16000 miles on it and at this point I will never get rid of it at any price. Just thought I would comment on this. Srt 392 is just a fun car without smoking the tires which I never done

0:08 You see this type of accident all the time with cars that are lightweight and have powerful 600hp engines. If you accelerate a little too much when you are already traveling at 140 mph, the drive wheels will spin and the car flies off the road.

I mean, I would say the R8 should be #1 on that list. Spending $30,000 and making $20,000 sounds like a lot less risk than spending $88,000 to make $30,000

Lee, I think you need to divide the profit by the purchase price to get a better indicator for the ROI. You should show that as a separate percentage column. Oh and then the R8 performs better than the GT3 RS 😂

these are great cars, even in this shape, so worth it. i would think you should take into consideration the intial cost not the profit.... shouldn't it be the % of the cost to the profit?

Love all the videos particularly the High end stuff, but in the last $ breakdown the Audi's potential profit of $20K against a purchase price of $30K I think is a better proposition considering the Porsche purshase price was $80K and only provided an additional $10K potential profit, rather interesting don't you think?
Yes, if you do it based off percentage the layout is totally different. Something like the BRZ TS from the last salvage story will rank very high even in comparison to the big dollar high end cars.

My favorite generation R8 too to be honest. Especially with that wonderful carbon fiber side blade.
There is money in the parts game the key is to have lots of inventory so you are not waiting on "the dead inventory" to sell for capital.

Agree with you-I was an insurance appraiser from the late 1970" until 2023 mostly in New York-it was a standard repair procedure underwritten by the insurance industry to so-called "clip" cars-cut off damaged front section or rear sections properly section them possibly at factory seams -create so-called sleeves and weld them together-even suspensions weren't removed-used so-called rolling clips.
