The Springsteen remasters are generally better than the original pressings IMO.

Fun Fact: I have lived in Freehold-literally the town he sings about in "My Hometown" and which was his real-life hometown-since I was 14. He is worshipped in this area. My good friend Mark (with whom I have sold hundreds, if not thousands, of records online) is the biggest Bruce fan I know. He has seen him well over 100 times. He had already seen him over 100 times by the time I met him over a decade ago, haha. Mark was a teenager in the 80s, and this album was massive for him (although he had already been a fan prior). He has been after a 1st US pressing of this album-in the shrink with the hype sticker that apparently only shows three singles instead of five-for a while now.
Also, I'm sure the recent remaster was done at Ludwig's Gateway studio in Portland, Maine-my city of birth. I guess I should go grab it, haha.

@@top5records796 I enjoyed it as a teenager and in my early 20s, but I am looking elsewhere now. I actually just attempted a cross-country move, but had to put it off for a bit for financial reasons. But it's cool saying I live in Springsteentown, haha.

Thank you for the unboxing video. The album is a spectacular, sonic masterpiece. I have the original Masterdisk US pressing and the remastered reissue. Honestly, I can’t hear the difference. With that said the anniversary edition is a bit lame regarding content.

My dad is a huge Springsteen fan and he has been to the tour last year. I thought about buying it for him but idk whether he would like it as a collectable (for now) because we do not own a record player and those can be quite expensive

I would certainly love having my fav albums as a vinyl even without a record player because I just like the vibe but idk about him

That’s interesting! What does your father listen to for music?
Also; second hands you can find the most wonderful equipment not expensive… The sound of vinyl can be really incredible and open up a new world.

Hey man! I would really like to meetup with you some time (I'm from Belgium). Created a channel like yours during the pandemic as well, but failed to keep it running!
I feel we could talk for hours about music and it's album history!

I have the OG which sounds great! This is a good reissue but I would pass on it I’m hearing that the sound quality isn’t great and I’m not crazy about colored vinyl yet but if you don’t have the original this would be fine

Quality is better than the 1st European pressing. But if you have a 1st USA I can imagine being sceptical. Would love to find one of those.

1st pressings from the USA are very harsh, closed in and sound very bright

Love the album but seeing all that Vinyl garbage is a huge turn off.
You cannot play vinyl in your car
You cannot set a program of tracks with vinyl.
You get horrible crackling noises with it.
Its take up way too much storage space.
And its more prone to damage.

If you handle it with care there are no crackling noises.

      @@top5records796 Ok.
I had a big record collection in the period 1975 to 1986. I then started buying albums on cassette, especially chrome/metal cassettes. Absolutely brilliant audio quality superior to both vinyl and CD.
I then started to change to CD's around 1992. Best thing I ever did.
Anyway, Born in the USA is brilliant.

@@EliteXclutchX21 Yes. However as I've learned, most people are not smart.
My motto is, 'Observe what the herd is doing, then do the opposite!'
The thing is I have a number of very rare CD Albums that are worth 10 times what the vinyl version is worth. In 10 years the vinyl craze will die and they'll be seeing the true value of CD.

@@trep17mag I think for most people, including me who just recently got into vinyl records, listening to vinyl isn't purely about sound. It's about having something physical, a big artwork etc.
Listening to a record makes me appreciate an album much more because I tend to listen to it in full length, which I wouldn't do if I just skip through Spotify or whatever. It's just a nice ritual and a perfect way to listen to a record for me.
There is no right or wrong like you say "I look what the majority doesy and then do the opposite" lol. People are not stupid because they love listening to records man... Art is subjective.
