There were people in New Mexico who did suffer from increased radiation the year of the trinity test. Specifically, there was a rise in infant deaths that year. Unfortunately there's still a fight to get government recognition.
If I had to offer up my own explanation for Casey Affleck’s scene: I found it historically helpful to see just how serious some in the government took communism. And later, it helped me better understand/believe what happened to Tatlock.
Thank you for the review! I am a history professor. Saw Oppenheimer and loved it! If you watched the movie and wonder "Did that really happen?" I made a new video on my channel answering many of those questions. Happy to share. Every historical movie embellishes some topics, but overall it was a very accurate movie and amazing to watch.
How would you rate Shaun's video on the topic of the nuclear bomb? Also, love your work! Honestly didn't expect to see you here! Came across it on Twitter thread.
39:06 they were in fact NOT the same day. Had to correct erik...August 6th for the first August 9th for the second....easy to look up. And the second 1 was necessary because the emperor didn't believe the first 1 actually took place. Second was close enough for him to see, but not so close as to kill him. His reaction was, my god, they've come to erase us all, seeing as he said they'd fight to the very last. He quickly surrendered after the second. In the end it saved countless millions of lives and stopped the war. Both sites are clean now (and we're clean shortly after) because we chose fuel that would exert immense energy yet produce byproducts that quickly half-lifed.
Was FINALLYYYY able to see this movie in imax and it was amazing!! On the edge of my seat the whole time. Loved this discussion and I agree with all the reviews!!
The best part of the script imo was the use of the F word. Only three or four times in the movie and no other coarse language really put the power back in the word.
I get what Jessica is saying about Oppenheimer at the BET awards and I agree with her that it is messed up but I think it had to be done that way in order to keep the film as historically accurate as possible. The part that is messed up is that this is how life was back then. Let us learn from our mistakes and never repeat them, whether that is to exclude Jews and kill them by the hundreds of thousands, not recognizing the positive contributions from all races and people of all colors or to build weapons that kill tens of thousands of humans. Please let up learn from this history and never repeat it.
Movie was a 9/10, but should've either cut half of the interrogation scenes after the Trinity test or had parts of it sprinkled in earlier in the movie somehow (which Nolan out of anyone would've been able to do). I enjoyed it a lot, but indeed after Trinity, casual movie goers lost some interest, energy was gone and even had someone on their phone in my theatre. Understand why they didn't show the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but maybe they should've added visuals of the consequences in the 3rd act of the movie.
I was thoroughly impressed with this movie. Also, listening to the panel discussion makes me want to see Barbie even though I grew up playing with G.I.Joe action figures instead of Barbie dolls. Shout out to Florence Pugh for a couple very nice reasons. 😉
I stopped watching after 13 mins in. Everyone in this video "reviewing" the movie should stick to reviewing Marvel & DC movies (except Voss). There are SO MANY better movie reviewers to watch.
I lose a small piece of my sanity every time i have to listen to the saggy waggy disclaimer. Make it a caption that you post at the beginning of your vids. That way i can easily ignore it.
Love Brandon trying to control the table to begin with but everyone else was like nah, chaos 😂
Evan’s officiallll on screen debut imo👏🏽 Let’s gooo
Great review and happy to see Jessica back!! Please bring her back for good! PERMANENTLY!!!
THANKS for this!!!! I have decided I will always be here for Jessica and Erik!!!!

Jessica 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 🤯
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪♥️
It sounds like someone listened to Lpotl’s Manhattan Project series!
Nagasaki was bombed 3 days later on 9 August. Not the same day as Hiroshima which was on 6 August.
I was wondering when the serious discussion was going to start.
Love the Sayla Mass shirt Brendan
Off-screen producer Evan! Love this panel!! ❤
We don’t deserve Jessica. ☺️☺️😋😋

43:03 a moment relatable by all women
Casey Affleck amd Remi Malik were my two standout cameos
People like Pasche are the reason conspiracy theories exist.
Easily Christopher Nolan's best movie with second being interstellar. Rest are just fine.
Blasphemy.
Dark knight says hello
I actually liked Inception more than Interstellar. Not that I didnt like it, it was great just liked the other more
Chuck shumer would have been the best candidate to play Oppenheimer..put the two together it's the same guy
YAAYYYY Evan is officially here
I had a nightmare where jessica was on the daily wire
Please keep Jessica!
Why is Jessica in a wedding dress? Just lingering…
Because it’s Jessica
That’s not a wedding dress 😂
She gone full crazy
Awesome chutiyeasssssss 👌👌👌👌👌👌💯💯💯💯

When you realize how inaccurate the film is, it loses its luster and becomes another disinformation campaign with a biopic.
You guys need to get better microphones.
it worked. no more ww until now. yet
