NO this area had NEVER been COMPLETELY BLACK WE were THERE 1969 to 1985 when WE moved there many of who you are talking about DID move over the years But had NEVER been all black WE where the 3rd on our block !
That’s not “our” culture. Those houses were built by Europeans. Detroit was for Europeans. I can’t get into these old style homes by and for Europeans. It’s like leftovers. All those old houses and buildings look like Europe. When Europeans migrated they brought THEIR culture and architecture with them. As a black person, how do you preserve their homes!?
MY FAMILY lived there from 69 to 85 and I thoroughly ENJOYED being there ... another reason to be there the home values have always stayed above the average in Detroit so it’s like an INVESTMENT
These homes are absolutely beautiful💐💖 thanks for sharing
Beautiful for the community
Not if you live there. The crime in Detroit is insane along with Wayne County Prop tax.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
These houses are so gorgeous,. I'd love to visit them, but I'm in the U.K .
Wow!!!

HISTORIC PRESERVATION IS HOT IN 1984!!!

Even after watching this video twice, I didn't hear anyone mention this tour or these homes being about a particular "culture"
Because you appreciate the style from the past. As a newcomer to Detroit I can tell you these house and the surrounding area are spectacular.
You can see your culture everywhere in Detroit you just have to look.
What the hell does your skin color have to do with anything?

Fun Fact in 1969 the average price of a home in this neighborhood was around 30 thousand Dollars ~ check out Zillow to see what they are NOW !
