    I tend to use darker cymbals myself but these Big Beats sound so good for Mike's music and with that kit! Fantastic in the drum mix ... bright and clear but not harsh at all!

    Great video, nice studio and cymbal showroom-thing.
    Why dont you invite more paiste artists to it and make a video about them trying out cymbals and giving their opinion, (like you did with Ian Paice some time ago.
    )
    Perhaps make them make a top list of a few cymbals they like the most.
    Love Paiste, Chears

      Hi Dario. Thanks for your inputs. We built the studio a few month ago. It's brand new. There is still a lot to come. Watch out and stay tuned. Thanks again.

    I have the 19, 20 and 21. Using 15” 900 series hi hats with em. Had the 18 also, but it sounded outta place to me. The 19 is the best crash I’ve ever played. Plan on getting the 22 next!

    I find it amazing that the cymbal mix in these videos never really features the cymbals prominently.

    The cymbal mix is better here, the player makes me wish that Ed Soph was the presenter. I think player would like him too

    That Room is so dead sounding. That would be great for a low fi Beatles sort of thing. It's nice though because it gives you a great example of the actual tone instead of hearing the Room!!

      I think all the close mics are just way over-compressed. The snare in particular. I don't even mic the top these days, just the bottom and overheads - much more clarity and pop!

    To my ears, the Big Beats sound like a spicier, more complex version of the 2002.

    Man, those are some DEAD sounding drums. Change those heads and start over. And get rid of the muffling. Drums made from a cymbal alloy should be singing from here to next week.
