Yes you can make the transition from Baritone ukulele to Tenor guitar by starting with nylon strings. It's a simple transition and a modification you can do that wont damage your 265. The 265 Shari Ulrich guitar sounds really good with nylon strings, its tone resembles a classical guitar.
If we want a better and louder sound with nylon strings in Chicago tuning (DGBE) and a more appropriate tension for this guitar, we should use the 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings of a classical or flamenco guitar string set.
In addition to improving the sound and tension, the configuration of the guitar will be similar to that of a baritone ukulele: two plain nylon strings and two wound strings. (•‿•)
