      Yeah that’s honestly pretty impressive. What’s funny is that a concussion is likely to lead people not to self-report due to the disregulation, confusion etc… his seemed fairly mild though so hopefully he can recover quickly without it causing damage that could make him more susceptible in the future.

    As a Texans Fan I can honestly say AR absolutely shocked everyone.. we all thought he was going to be too RAW to start but the kid is looking good man.. he needs to protect himself more.. it’s just his first year and already back to back injuries… this brings the opportunity to try and better yourself in the pocket and only run when you absolutely need to until you clean some things up.. once he cleans it up and knows how to avoid hard hits and protect himself a little better he’ll be a beast no doubt about it… Hurts absolutely prepared their HC for AR it’s a perfect pair… blessing ✌🏻#Alhamdulilah

      why u shoulda watched his college tape! i watched every game from all 4 top QBs drafted PRE draft, and when i was done watching all 4 i knew AR was the best QB of the bunch. i had NO DOUBT! BBryce too small not a strong arm, CJ can make every throw and make look really sweet, ubt i didnt like the person that much, ive heard him say things i dont like and his team was just elite. and when ur always throwing to open guys and every other play 3 dudes are open by 5 to 10 yards! lol nothing impressive about levis last year, Then AR on a crap team crap HC, and the kid carried em, did magic in the pocket every game, best arm in the draft, fast as hell, big as hell. did things i never saw b4 EVER!

    Anyone who watched JT's breakdowns of Richardson in college knew he could process and play from the pocket. His issue was accuracy and missing layups, but he never looked clueless or antsy back there and very seldom took off running in a panic when he had time and options open down the field. People just completely misconstrued what his issues were. He looks as advertised.

    AR and Steichen will be one of the best QB HC combos in a couple years you can book it. AR will be special, the people who can’t see it are blind. He’s also so much further along from a processing perspective than most people thought. And Steichen has done a really good job easing AR into this offense and playing to his strengths. The Colts have scored 21 and 31 points in the 1st 2 games (without JT mind you) when last year their offense was straight up hard to watch. Steichen was the OC in Herbert’s rookie year, then he tailor made the perfect offense to suit Jalen Hurts, and now he has reinvigorated the Colts offense completely, like the dude just gets it.

    This is always the question about young athletic qbs. When theyre young they use their athleticism to win games early but by time they develope as better passers they've taken alot of shots they probably shouldn't have. I remember when Vick went to the eagles and got with Andy Ried he was such a threat passing and running but his body was already too broken down to continue playing. Lamar is looking good as a passer now but hasn't finished his last two seasons. I just hope these teams teach these young athletes to play the position first and use the legs as a compliment not the other way around. Concussion on his second game as a probalready, sometimes you gotta save athletes from themselves.

But given the draft projections who could blame him for going ahead...serious money, stock may have gone up some w/ another year of college, but it was already so high that wouldn't make much difference. All the talent you could ask for and more, and from all I ever heard from him and about him, really solid young man. My worry with him entering the draft was...pretty raw/inexperienced, with the wrong coaching staff, he might never develop. When he went to Indy w/ Steichen I was like, having seen how great Hurts developed ...that's probably about as ideal a coaching fit for AR as one could hope for. Love seeing how it's playing out on the field so far...he seems way further along than I ever would have guessed so early on. Now if he can just stay healthy....

    I think that you're giving him too much credit on that first play, the third and three. It looks like an iteration of what they did last week, where he had a predetermined route pre-snap, then checked down off those. Here, they just paired it w/ mesh instead of a check-down. If you watch watch his head, he looks to the predetermined receiver, doesn't make the throw, then comes directly back over the middle of the field, where all three routes happened to be converging. He was seeking out what you referred to as the fourth read the entire way, b/c reads two and three didn't really exist in concept. They just happened to be where his eyes were.

    Every pass from him seems to be within 10 yards and he threw some passes in this game you didn’t show that weren’t close to catchable. Is that not a concern? The running absolutely is great but I’m not sold on his ability as a passer.

    • @TacoTuesday4
      @TacoTuesday4 Год назад +17

      He has completed over 60 percent of his passes and in an area of the field his detractors said he couldn’t throw accurate balls. He still has more work to do but if you can’t tell his trajectory is already far higher than it should be then you are crazy. He will clean it up even more.

    • @JoshBoeke
      @JoshBoeke Год назад +21

      He threw 10 passes, 6 were completed, 1 was the left-handed throw away, 1 was the pass shown to Granson that bounced off his hands... that leaves 2 other passes not shown in the video, a short pass to Pittman that was on target but knocked away by the defender, and 1 uncatchable pass over the middle (after he'd been concussed). 3/4 incompletions came after his concussion. Accuracy is of course still a concern, it's week 2, but feel like you're kinda just making stuff up here.

    • @jmg999
      @jmg999 Год назад

      @@TacoTuesday4 This isn't an accurate analysis. He's making many throws short, outside the numbers, taking check-downs on balls that need to be thrown downfield. He still hasn't shown much growth from college. He's seeing open receivers downfield and pulling the ball down and running or checking off. That's unsustainable, and at the rate he's going, he won't make it through his rookie contract based on health or performance.

    • @duptygupty
      @duptygupty Год назад +6

      The whole knock against him was that he couldn't complete short to intermediate throws with any accuracy, and that's what he's demonstrably improved upon in the first couple of games. He hasn't really let loose with deep balls yet, which is the best part of his passing game. JT's breakdowns show how well he's processing early in his career, and the accuracy has not been a problem.
